To start, I well arrived in the night with a shared transfer shuttle and the hotel staff went outside and met me, helping me up with my things.
People knew I was coming, that's nice.
The hotel is not a big one, around 30 rooms - 3 floors. Situated 4 mins walk from the central town square.
My room was nice and clean. Though no air conditioning, but actually you don't need it there because of the position of the hotel. It was always somehow cool inside though outside it was quite hot, I don't know how it comes to this, apparently due to the position of the hotel.
The hotel has a very nice front garden with lots of plants and flowers. I was always having breakfast in the garden among all this flowers, this was really nice.
The staff was very friendly as well as the hotel owner. In the evenings I always went down to their lobby furniture like a living room to surf web (there's a free wifi there) and talk to the staff guys.
The special thing is that you feel like you're not in a small hotel but like visiting some friends of yours and staying at their house.
I think that staying in Urgup, which looks so tiny; you don't need to eat in the hotels. Go to the central town square - there's a very nice restaurant with very special offerings of local cuisine to a very fair price, fresh orange juice was as cheap as nowhere, f.e. twice as cheap as 1 can of ice tea in Istanbul. People in the streets are very friendly; know each other, and also a very big difference to noisy Istanbul people.
I recommend this hotel to all the young and middle aged people coming to Urgup.
