This was one of the best holidays we have ever had. Alanya was a beautiful town, about a hour and a half on bus from the airport, surrounded by the most breathtaking scenery. The beach stretches for miles, and although the bit nearest us was fairly rocky with some big waves, the further down you go the calmer it gets. The town itself has so much to see.

We were surprised at the high standard of our accommodation, after booking a cheap last minute deal. We had a ground floor apartment overlooking the pool/restaurant area, which was immaculate. Bed linen and towels were changed every second day. The restaurant at this hotel is fantastic, not only cheaper than a lot of the nearby places but far and away the best food.
The staff were great fun, and were always smiling and willing to help out. We were a bit disappointed that the hotel seems to only cater for Scandinavian families, and were somewhat bemused to find a huge menu translated into Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish and Danish outside the restaurant. But all the staff speak English and the proper menu is translated!

The entertainment here was a different class to elsewhere we saw. proper Turkish folklore and dancers along with fire eaters and belly dancers who actually put on a show, rather than attempt to publicly humiliate you!
would recommend a visit to the Dim Caya river, its lovely. Also, don't worry about changing currency, we found the Turks happy to take anything! Although would say we ended up with better deals using Euro's than Lira.
Would go back in a second!
