Do not understand how this hotel could be classed as a 4-star hotel. Delete all the stars, it becomes more equitable.
First got a room that stank of urine and asked to change according to the receptionist so was the smell of the sea! :-O got another room and this was the worst we've ever had.
Luftkoditioneringen was moldy at In & outside the room where we slept. Bathrooms air conditioning was the same horrible condition ... Black mold in the bathroom ceiling & tile joints.
The beds were ROCK HARD & in poor condition according to the receptionist were the newly purchased since 2009. :-O If you look at the pictures on them so you can see directly how old they are. We had to buy air mattresses to sleep on the beds so we survived the night.
The elevator that went to the outside was slow so it was not in a hurry if you were somewhere ... When it came down in the basement where breakfast & lunch & dinner is served, it was superdammigt in elevator shafts as you looked through the glass windows in the elevator.
Old furniture in general and very worn everywhere.
The food was cheap but it was the same for breakfast, lunch & dinner daily.
After two days would no longer eat there ....
sunbed was, during all criticism ragged & dirty & about 5-6stycken was bloody throughout our stay even though we reported this to reception

nightmare. badly in need of facelift, nothing good to say about hotel. location great if you good on your legs and like steps, rooms not very good walls to thin, nasty smell of dirty mop,, food not good what left one day you got next with different sauce on reception did not bother when complained will never go to this hotel again,never been as glad to leave.

went here with my husband, 6yr old son and 5 month old daughter. The smell of the room as we walked in was disgusting, the bed clothes were awful!!! The bathroom was disgusting!!! Food was very poor although plenty of it, ended up eating out after 3days of belly full of over cooked food. Nothing to do for my son, entertainment never seemed to be on and the staff were not very helpfull (well most of them). The hotel seemed to be full of old locals!! we are not fussy people!!! This was also our honeymoon, so turned out not a very good one because of the lack of standards and friendlyness at this hotel!!!! i would not recommend this place to anyone with a young family!! The sun never seemed to shine on the pool!!! The beach was terrible we got sore feet from walking on it, there was no sand just small stones...and 2foot into the water there was a massive drop!!! so not very safe for kids, not to mention the sweage floating in it.

We stayed at the Royal Sun in Santa Susanna, the hotel was extremely clean and right on the beach!!

Went to the Royal Sun in October last year ( 2009 ). Went with my pregnant missus and really enjoyed it. No complaints at all . . . oh . . . except the bread was never fresh . . . not really life threatening ! Going again this year in september with the missus and my 4 month old daughter . . . rally looking forward to it ! Hotel was clean, staff friendly and the food was great . . . except the bread ! If you pay £1000 for a week you won't be happy, but we're all paying a lot less . . . so enjoy ! We did . . . we will again . . . and so will you !

We booked this through media Travel, a last minute break for the easter holidays. Was quoted by thier rep as being a 4 star hotel, and thats what prompted us to book, you cant go wrong with a four star... lol
How wrong we were, firsly Resort Hoppa dropped us a good
10 min walk to hotel, in the dark, I think this is shocking.
We booked in, room was smallish but clean, functional.
In the morning we decided to upgrade from full board to
all inclusive, we got a quote from reception 9euro per day for adults 4.5 for 13 year old. Thought this would save us on money for snacks and drinks.
As we had arrived late we missed breakfast and went to get a snack, the only snack on offer was cheese and ham sandwich with crisps, no cake, hot dog burger, which is usually standard in 4 star hotels in Spain. Coffee was from a machine, luke warm. We noticed that the seats in reception and smoking room were torn. Hotel was clean but
the lifts were slow and smelled. Lunch time came, food was well below standard for a 4 star hotel, re cycled food from lunch served at dinner, We lived of salads, which I have seen better in 3 star hotels. Chips, veg which was over cooked and frozen, could not eat the meat.
I am not a fussy eater.
Our bed linen was not changed once in the week we were there.
Drinks were all localy produced, tastless, so we stuck to lager/lime localy produced Bailleys Everything lacked taste.
We even stayed the night in Barcelona to escape.
Media Travel eventually, contacted us on the Thursday
offering to move us to Calella, we were going home on the Saturday. But we had checked out and moved into Aqua Hotel Onabrava, a true 4 star in my opinion. Go there if you go anywhere in Santa Susanna. My 13 year old left a pair of shoes, in royal sun, on our return that night, they were gone, even though the receptionist mentioned the shoes when she saw us. This is never a 4 star hotel, misselling should be illegal. I would give this hotel a 2 star.

We went to the Royal Sun october 2009, we were quite happy with everything overall. The reception staff were brilliant, all the staff were friendly at all times. The hotel is imaculately clean, rooms serviced every day. The food is good and plentiful, pools are nice and the location is right on the beach, what more could you want! We are returning in september for a week, that should be recomendation enough for anyone.

we booked to stay here in April 2010, when we got there we were placed in the Royal Sun suites which are not on the beach they are up a side street, so do please double check that you are definitely staying in the hotel on the beach, the food was horrible, undercooked and cold and to top it off the weather was freezing so can say without a doubt we will never return.
