We have arrived back today from a 7 night stay at the Crazy Reindeer in Levi and can honestly say there is not one thing we could complain about here - fabulous food, beautiful room, close to slopes for great skiing, friendly people, inghams were fabulous!!
We read through the reviews after we had booked and before we left and thought OK so it's one of the cheaper in Inghams - expecting good but not fantastic, but wow weeeee it was fantatstic everything about it - everything else I have read about it being slippery - nope very well gritted everywhere (but hey come on it's snow!), food lots of and yummy, dirty rooms - absolutely not very hot on cleaning!!
One tip - the hotel doesn't list all of it's facilities clearly and where to access them, so please ask and find out - like jacuzzi tucked away... but a real find. Oh and if you want beauty treatments like a nice massage book when you arrive as they get booked up fast. Also there is a little kiddies indoor play area in Levi - great for kids too young for ski school!
If you don't ski go on the ski bus and get up the gondoli - all of them the views are amazing.
Don't think about it ... book it!!!!

Well what can I say, we have travelled all over the Alps and have also been to Canada and America on skiiing holidays. We have had a fabulous time in Levi, the White Reindeer rooms at the Crazy Reindeer have their own Sauna and are very comfortable and warm. the dining room, which also acts has the hotel bar area was inviting and very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed every meal we had and thought the choice was great, 5 course meal every night! Hats off to the Chef. DO NOT go to the steakhouse down the road, the steak was like leather and extremely expensive - £45 per steak!! there's a great Irish bar in the village if you like guiness.
As far as the Skiing is concerned if you like cruising blues with the odd red thrown in the skiing would be great for you. Even though there are drag lifts the're not that bad and there is hardly any queueing. The pistes are well kept and quiet without the spead freaks!! All in all we cannot wait to go back - don't forget to do the Reindeer and husky safaries, what an experience!

We have just spent a week in Levi - what a fantastic resort - thankfully that made up for the exceptionally poor accommodation we had to endure. If you have any standards at all then I would NOT recommend that you stay at the Crazy Reindeer. We stayed in a block away from the main hotel that could only be described as a Prisoner Cell Block ! No really - it was extremely shabby and dated and it was dirty and our friends had to endure a failed heater in their room when the outside temp was Minus 36 degrees !! The half board had us eating breakfast in the main Hotel. This was not too bad but the evening meal was to be taken at another pub type place just down from our block and THE FOOD WAS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING !!
In short do go to Levi as there are a lot of choices out there but stay as far away from the Crazy Reindeer as possible. Also beware - we were not impressed with inghams at all and their excursions were very very expensive.

The room in the Crazy Reindeer was old design and very dirty. The stairs up to the mezzanine floor were steep not all the same depth and had no stair gate(not very clever for a three year old).
The food choice was very limited to two varieties, always one was flounder. The children’s buffet was always burger and chips, they had chicken nuggets only once. In the end we ate out at the local pizza reataurant.The food was also cold.
The faults with the room were reported to reps and the hotel three times and not one was fixed. First choice state that you can go ice fishing and stay at an ice guesthouse - both do not exist in Levi!
I would not return to Crazy Reindeer or travel with First Choice ever again.

This was a 3 night break and my little daughter loved it. We were met at the airport by the elves, lovely start, our daughter was very fond of igloo her designated elf she was given who looked after her and played with her a lot.
Lapland has beautiful scenery, and a very magical experience for young children. Over the course of 4 days she went on a snowmobile, husky dog sledge, reindeer ride , decorated ginger cookies, and the highlight was Santa coming to the hotel with a present.
The hotel was fine although not a lot nearby, food was good especially the desserts and our daughter loved the children’s club which was on till 10 pm. Very happy to recommend Levi and the Reindeer hotel.

Wonderful Holiday in Lapland. The Crazy Reindeer is a very comfortable hotel and ideal for us as we had our two children with us aged 9 and 11.
We had a self-catering apartment which was on two floors, we had our own private sauna, two bathrooms, as well as three bedrooms.
Originally Inghams allocated us two twin rooms but we up-graded direct with the hotel. Levi is a fantastic resort for a winter holiday, we went on a mini husky safari which took us out in a sleigh across a frozen arctic lake. We also tried snow mobiles which was really fast - you do need your driving licence for this.
One of the best things was the reindeer sleigh ride, you have your own sleigh which seats two and are taken over the ice by the reindeer, however some reindeers will go really fast and some will take their time, it is so funny to see them and just get pulled along the landscape.
The food in the hotel was very good, but we gave up getting up for breakfast as we could prepare our own food and get up a bit later (it is hard getting up when it doesn't get light until 10.00 am).
The ski-ing looked like it was very good and we did hire ski's out for a couple of days which was good to do but we left this until the end of the holiday as we didn't want to hurt ourselves before we had gone on all the trips. The Finnish people are very friendly and I would thoroughly recommend the resort.
The only down-side would be the cost of eating and drinking out, but this is due to the strong Euro at the moment. We would all go back.
