Dec 2011, Jessy

Myself and my three friends stayed here for a week between June and July and had the time of our lives! Apartment was surprisingly clean, although we got a shock on our first night when a cockroach greeted us, we only saw one more after that though. Ants do come in if you leave food or drink around but they're only ants, no big deal. It was very basic but that's what you pay for. The cleaners are fantastic, I stupidly left my entire holiday fund on the bed while we were out and when I came back they had simply moved it onto the bedside table, not a cent missing. New sheets and towels every second day. The pool is very clean, the poolside bar is dead cheap, music is a bit dodgy but you learn to love it!The nightlife is literally 5 minutes walk away which is perfect cause it's close but not right in the middle of it all. The air con was a bit crap but definitely better than nothing, the staff were slow but if you're nice to them, they'll be nice to you! So jealous of anyone going... we will be back! Make sure to check out Carwash the disco bar, Club Castle and Senior Frogs, they're mint. And try you're best to get on one of the fantasy boat parties, for 60 quid we had the best day of our lives.. Get a taxi to Nissi beach for 10 quid, it beats waiting in the heat for a packed bus. I

Me and 4 mates went and stayed here for 2 weeks in June/July 2011 when we arrived the taxi driver said it was a bit of a hole, we arrived late at night but we decided to have a look around the following morning and were quite surprised at to the cleanliness of the pool room etc after all the bad reviews we had read, the bar is awesome and you can't fault the prices for booze in the outdoor pool bar which one night was still open when we crawled in at 4am so we carried on drinking, the pool is really nice the grounds are well kept and security patrols are around most of the night, we had a room on the first floor so make sure you close the curtains when out during th day to stop prying eyes. The location is great for the strip and also the nearby restaurants and supermarkets. It's a great place to stay for the Napa experience and I really recommend the place after all you only use the room to sleep off the booze and get ready to go out the next night. All in all a great place to stay

Worst hotel ive ever stayed in.

Jul 2011, Jimbo

Room was full of insects, no water or electricity for 3 days, staff were useless room only cleaned 3 times in 11 nights, Pool was filthy.
Loads of hidden costs 6 euro a day for a crap air con, had to pay a deposit for a safe box ( which is essential as neighbours were broken into)
I honestly dont know how this place is allowed to be open as its a dump.
You have been warned Do Not Stay Here!!!!!

every year i go away at least once and i always write a review, 1. to express my experiences and 2. cos am bored.
me and 7 lads went here. we stayed in the ground floor app 503 and 504. the apps are 1 bed roomed apps with 2 beds in the bedroom a sofa bed and a camp bed errected in the living areas. for 700quid each we wer xpectn more than a camp bed tbh, but its a lads hols......never mind am sure we'd cope. on arrival we had a scouse rep who from begining to end he tried to sell us summit. DO NOT PURCHASES straight away. ask ppl in the resort first.
reception staff were rude slow and unhelpful.
the room is basic. during the stay we had our bedding changed once and only gt clean towels twice in 11nyts. the app was crawling with ants and cockroaches. when you complain they just say "not my problem" when you tell the rep he says what do ya want its a lad hol and laughs it off.
music is always playing 24hours a day (the only time its off is when they have no electric) when you get in from a night out its blasting still and they refuse to turn it down. even when your rough the morning after.
the pool area is minging. scummy around the rim of the pool. the water is green and merky and you cant see the bottom of the pool. the pool is full of chlorine, brings tears to your eyes. me and 2 friends got ear infections. Suspected cause hmmmmmm.
half way throught the holiday a drains pipe burst right outside 502. when we told reception it took 3 daysw to get it sorted.
do not misplace your room key as the will charge you 45 euros for a replacement and even if you find it they wont refund you. they charge your 6euros per day for aircon that doesnt work most of the time and 35euros per week for a saftey deposit box each.
worst of all our water and electric was off for 3 full days, combining this with insects, dirty pool and burst pipes.
i would advise not to stop here.

This was the worst place i have stayed and i have stayed in some hovels!! there were ants everywhere, in your suitcases, on your bed up the walls. DISCUSTING! I came home and had dead ants in my suitcase. the sheets werent fit enough for a dog. The dished were filth. And there were men knocking on the door practically barging thier way in to sell you all these different things! HORRID! The shower literally flooded the bathroom when you put it on and it was full of limescale!! and there was no window in the bathroom, there was a vent that anyone walking past your room could look through!! the pool was clean, but the same songs played consistently the food was totally english which isnt why you go abroad and it wasnt cheap either. the drinks were reasonable. The night life was five mins away but u were contantly hassled there too. The apartments and the staff were unreasonable and rude. i borrowed an iron with a 10 poiund deposit and they wouldnt give me the money back, same situation occured with the safe we paid for but didnt use. I went on the holiday with three other girls and we al thought the same. they are vile and need a good refurb, and for £500 for ONE week. you would expect a good standard not a dodgy filthy place. Will never be returning there again.

27 friends and I went to Ayia Napa for a sixth year holiday. When we first arrived I was in an apartment with 3 of my mates in second floor room 613 (facing the road). first thing we noticed was that the door had obviously been kicked in previously as parts of it had been replaced. Apart from that, we had no problem what-so-ever with any bugs, or break ins and the shop right across the road had me sold.
The maids came to our room each day, switched our towels, gave us toilet paper, cleaned our whole rooms and even did our dishes! I wouldn't rely on this though because out of the 8/9 rooms we were all staying in, only maybe three of them had their dishes done.
The pool area was fantastic. A good size and clean. The pool bar was also top notch. The food was very good for such a critisised hotel, being good to eat and cheap(ish), which was brilliant for the hangovers. At night also the bar is good, there is a happy hour which goes on from around 9pm till 12pm which is good to get a few drinks in before you head out. Another good thing about this bar is that it stayed open until most people left. Some nights it was open till 2am and some times it was open till 5am. And I forgot to mention the barman is very nice, always happy and even let us sign the football tops that hang from the ceiling.
The area is great. Not even a five minute walk to the main strip and you can see what the fuss is about. A good bit of advice is not to get sucked in by the one bar. I started most of my nights at the sea cavern, which I regretted on the last night as I realised I should have tried everywhere. A few places I would recommend is Craigs bar, The Irish bar next to it (Only because they have pro evo on a large projector which is fun to play when you're drunk), Hard rock cafe, and Castle. Another thing my mate and I discovered is the bars that are further down (past all the clubs) are actually much better than the ones nearer the hotel. One night we found we actually got 5 free shots with a double vodka and coke, which is insane. Also, there is a pizza hut right across the road which does all you can eat pizza for 6.95 euros. Take a 10 minute walk the other direction and you'll find a place called the pizzaria pub, which did a 26-27 inch pizza for 20 euros.
Nissi Beach is a 15 minute walk, which can feel like a lot longer in the heat. However finding a cab is simple, and only costs 10-12 euros depending on your ability to bargain.
In conclusion, I'd say these apartments are great aslong as you hire a safety deposit box, be careful about your doors/windows, and get air con! We found that the fob you need to put into the wall to control the electricity can actually be seperated from the key, so we kept it in the wall at all times to give the impression we were always in. If you don't want to take a risk, don't come to this hotel. Saying that, we did, and it was the best holiday of my life and I can bet I'll go back!

Me and 2 friends stayed at iphigenia in july we was all really nervous as we had read some really bad reviews but the place is fine i couldnt fault it.Its very basic but then thats expected but aslong as your tidy there will not be a problem with ants we was on the ground floor and we only see about 5 ants in our room in the whole week we was there although some girls a few doors down did have a lot in there room but they were messy and left spilt drinks around the room. The maid changed the bedsheets every other day and left clean towels, the bar is open all night and is quite cheap they also have happy hour every night. The pool is a good size and is clean. The reception staff are not very helpfull.i would recommend that you get a safe and air conditioning in your room its well worth the money.Iphigenia is not a place for older people or couples its full of young people on a clubbing holiday.Ayia Napa is deffinatly the best holiday ever the best clubs are starskys, castle and bedrock best bars are linekers, senior frogs and airline
had the time of my life and may even be going again next year

I went with 7 of my friends to iphigenia on the 23rd of June for 10 nights, and it was the most amazing holiday ever!!
At first we were all really nervous as to what to expect after reading all these reviews, but dont listen to them the place is amazingggg!!
When we first arrived, we did see one huuuuuge cockroach on the side which proper scared us, but after we'd been settled and used plenty of ant spray, it was fine and didn't see any more after that!!
Peterrrr the manager of the hotel is a legenddd, hes soooo cute and will do anything for you at any time of the day, if theres a problem speak to him, cos hes the best!!!
The pool was a nice size with plenty of sunbeds and nice grassy areas surrounding it and the pool bar played some good music, however we spent most of our days at nissi beach which was also great!
It was practically a 24hour pool so comin in from a hot night out a few of us just jumped in to cool off!
Its alllllll young people so no ones bothered what time you come in, how loud you are etc!
Dont miss the dirrty beach party
Best places to go out..Starskys, Linekars, Havannah, Club Ice, Download at Abyss!
Best holiday everrrr!!
Missing it already..

If you are looking for a young, lively chilled out place to stay I couldnt recommend these apartments enough.
Admittedly I was nervous at staying here after reading all the not so positive reviews. However the ants are not a problem with the hotel ....they are a problem with Cyprus on the whole - if you live in a ground floor apartment of course you will be affected by them but that would happen no matter where you stayed - if anything it helped us keep our floor tidier.
The staff were chilled out, considering everyone comes in jumping in the pool at whatever hour there is a nice atmosphere.
They are well located to bars, restaurants so everything is within a small walk away. I would stay here again as for the type of holiday I was after it suited me to the ground.

Aug 2008, Miss TR Bradford

Well everything seemed alrite when me and my friend got there. As I previously read the reviews and i was rather nervous.
But I must say that the sheets were stained and so was the towels. And when I asked for some new sheets they just took long about it. The tap was leaking. The rooms wasn't cleaned out properly before we came. The shower was grimey. And not to mention 2 days in someone told us that the hotel had been on crime watch! 2 peoples rooms got broken into whilst we were there. But it was always the people on the bottom floor which got targeted.
We did have company aka ants! I droped a crisp on the floor and within 5mins there was an army of ants taking it away!
And on our last day a cockroch came into our room! But that was the only 1.
The only good thing I have to say is the pool. As they play good music and I swear the pool is open 24 hrs!!

Jul 2008, Miss D White

From 16th - 27th July 2008 myself and 7 other girls stayed at the Iphigenia Apartments. When we got there initially some of us wanted to move hotels, but we decided to give it a try and although the rooms were full of ants and the cooking facalities for these self catering apartments non-existent and so unhygenic we didn't even want to eat cereal out of the bowls that had dead ants in when we opened the cupboards, we had an amazing holiday. Basically the rooms are minging, theres a lack of toilet rolls and clean towels, also outside our room were lime trees planted in mud which everytime we came through the back door would bring loads of mud in from our shoes. We had to kill 1 cocroach in a 2 weeks stay. But as long as you go there with a good group of people you'll have a good time. The night life round the hotel when everyone gets in fro a night out was good, everyones friendly. Sirus the bar man was perverted and scary but the rest of the staff were nice. The food from the pool bar was very nice although very english but its like that round most of Ayia Napa, drinks were also reasonable. The atmosphere round the pool in the day is good, there are lots of sunbeds although they arn't the most comfortable. We did hear of lots of thefts and keys going missing around the hotel but never saw any of it ourselves.
Overal i probablly would go back there but try and get a 2nd floor room as they were cleaner than the ground floor rooms.
