If you are looking for a young, lively chilled out place to stay I couldnt recommend these apartments enough.

Admittedly I was nervous at staying here after reading all the not so positive reviews. However the ants are not a problem with the hotel ....they are a problem with Cyprus on the whole - if you live in a ground floor apartment of course you will be affected by them but that would happen no matter where you stayed - if anything it helped us keep our floor tidier.

The staff were chilled out, considering everyone comes in jumping in the pool at whatever hour there is a nice atmosphere.

They are well located to bars, restaurants so everything is within a small walk away. I would stay here again as for the type of holiday I was after it suited me to the ground.

Well everything seemed alrite...

Well everything seemed alrite when me and my friend got there. As I previously read the reviews and i was rather nervous.

But I must say that the sheets were stained and so was the towels. And when I asked for some new sheets they just took long about it. The tap was leaking. The rooms wasn't cleaned out properly before we came. The shower was grimey. And not to mention 2 days in someone told us that the hotel had been on crime watch! 2 peoples rooms got broken into whilst we were there. But it was always the people on the bottom floor which got targeted.

We did have company aka ants! I droped a crisp on the floor and within 5mins there was an army of ants taking it away!

And on our last day a cockroch came into our room! But that was the only 1.

The only good thing I have to say is the pool. As they play good music and I swear the pool is open 24 hrs!!

From 16th - 27th July 2008 myself and 7 other girls stayed at the Iphigenia Apartments. When we got there initially some of us wanted to move hotels, but we decided to give it a try and although the rooms were full of ants and the cooking facalities for these self catering apartments non-existent and so unhygenic we didn't even want to eat cereal out of the bowls that had dead ants in when we opened the cupboards, we had an amazing holiday. Basically the rooms are minging, theres a lack of toilet rolls and clean towels, also outside our room were lime trees planted in mud which everytime we came through the back door would bring loads of mud in from our shoes. We had to kill 1 cocroach in a 2 weeks stay. But as long as you go there with a good group of people you'll have a good time. The night life round the hotel when everyone gets in fro a night out was good, everyones friendly. Sirus the bar man was perverted and scary but the rest of the staff were nice. The food from the pool bar was very nice although very english but its like that round most of Ayia Napa, drinks were also reasonable. The atmosphere round the pool in the day is good, there are lots of sunbeds although they arn't the most comfortable. We did hear of lots of thefts and keys going missing around the hotel but never saw any of it ourselves.

Overal i probablly would go back there but try and get a 2nd floor room as they were cleaner than the ground floor rooms.

This is to warn anyone who goes...

This is to warn anyone who goes to the Iphigenia hotel... i went with a group on friends aged between 18-22...... well it doesnt look too bad from outside but what a dump inside.. the rooms are mucky and the floors had big holes in them, we had crickets running under the door of our hotel which was terrifying.. the shower was discusting, the sheets had stains on them.... we wer on ground floor facing the main road and we had people off the streets knockin on doors and selling stuff to us, which isnt very nice when they practicly barge in the room!... the room next door to us got broke into and all money, cameras, ipods wer took..... make sure u take a safe or hire one! you will need it....

the pool area was only the good thing about the hotel, oh and probley the location.. apart from that we wer dissapointed, its a good job we wer out all day and pretty much all night...

i would definately advise ayia napa but just keep away from the iphigenia, ayia napa was the best holiday ive ever been on and thats saying something, just avoid iphigenia...

ohh and be prepared to party.... ayia napa doesnt do boring people!!

Thought i would try and save you...

Thought i would try and save you guys who are looking into staying at this hotel!

A year later and my friends and I are still chasing up getting compensation for the shocking holiday we had in Ayia napa!!

This hotel is the most disgusting place i have ever stayed in my life. For what we paid i would have execpected somthing at least half decent!

It was an ant ridden, cockroaches everywhere, the sheets were stained yellow and black, faeces wiped on the bathroom wall, shower flooded the bathroom every time we used it.... The self contained kitchen had one fork and two knifes, the hob had such a build up of dirt on it you couldnt even balance a pan on it.

When i walked out of the shower one evening i found 3 strange men standing in my apartment. that was very scary!! They had broken in using the second copy of our key (supposed to be in the reception). Luckily i caught them and they run away but not so lucky for the poor girls a few doors down who lost over £500.

There were THREE break-ins that night, all using duplicate keys. The manager said they knew keys were missing from the reception but didnt even think to change our locks.

I would never recommend this place to anybody. The experience ruined our whole holiday which we had saved a whole year for and we were so angry we waited at the airport for 16hours to get a flight home.

Our room was close to everything it was on the ground floor and we think it was the best room ever!!!! The ants were not a problem after the first day they become your friends!!!

We were really close to Nissi Avenue where all the shops are and the square where all the bars are, it was great!!!! Some advise for all u heading over this summer... go to the HAPPY BAR!!!! quite hard to find but if you get a taxi the first time you go you will know your way for the rest of your holiday, 6 pounds at the bar and free drink for an hour.... great before ya go to the clubs!!!!!! Go to Luke Kellys as well brill Irish bar!!!! The Titanic Club, the Pirates Inn, the Castle Club and Carwash are just to name a few good clubs to hit!!!

The staff in Iphigenia were very helpful and the bar staff were friendly....some a lil' too friendly!!!LOL

I'm sure if you go with Escapades your rep will warn you...!!!LOL Speaking of reps, very friendly and funny good to have around always up for a laugh ours were Danielle, Marcus and Darren!!!! EG

Met some class people lol made the holiday and showed us the Happy Bar!!!!

The apartments were close to all of the nightlife and in good reach of a number of restaurants, but were still on a peaceful stretch of road.

While we were there it was a place definitely aimed at a young crowd of people as the bar had very loud music playing until the early hours.

The staff were very friendly and good bar food was served so there was no need to eat out. There was also a weekly bbq with plenty of food served up.

The pool was quite small but clean and the surrounding gardens were well looked after.

Would recommend this holiday...

Would recommend this holiday destination/apartments to anyone!! The website when we booked did make the apartments a bit better than they actually were but then you get what you pay for I guess!!

We arrived at about 5am, and the apartment had obviously been cleaned in the morning and then left locked up all day so when we got there it was a bit smelly, and first impressions weren't that great! Once it had been aired a little though, it was definitely an improvement. Would advise everyone to get air conditioning, its not expensive and well worth the £15 or so that we paid for it. Only downside was the cleaning of the apartments, the towels didn't get changed as often as they could have been but when we asked at reception for some clean ones they needed a bit of persuading but gave us some in the end! We had 2 rooms of 3, which was just right. Some people we met had 4, and the 4th bed didn't look too safe, and think the apartments were a bit small for 4 people.

The hotel is set out really well, but would advise you get up early to get a lounger as it started to get busier as more people arrived it was a bit of a struggle sometimes. The pool bar is great, and the food although basic is great for the morning after or just a snack through the day. Its got music, and the pool always had a great atmosphere through the day (and was usually still going when we stumbled in early the next morning). Bar is great for getting a few jugs before heading out, and they'll pretty much make up anything you want in them!

The main strip of bars and clubs is a short walk from the hotel, but there is a bit of a dark strip to get down once you come off the main street so would advise the girls not to do it alone! Most of the bars were great, favourites were Sky bar, Castle club and Starskys! Starskys tends to get packed though but its great!

I was really surprised about the money though, I thought that it was going to be a fortune for club entry and drinks but it was pretty much on par with the UK. Not like a lot of other holiday destinations!

Definitely a great destination, the apartments aren't for anyone looking for a quiet holiday, but if your up for late nights and banter, would recommend them!

These apartments were awful! I wouldn't recommend them at all unless you like filthy places, constant ant invasion and smell of mould everywhere.

When we arrived, we found the wc and shower broken, the staff even wanted to charge us for something we didn't damage! There was also a condom out of the patio, together with a load of litter all around the garden.

The cleaning of the apartments consisted in quickly wiping the floor, replacing sheets and towels (if you were lucky of course).

The pool and the pool bar were decent, even if you were listening for the same two cds all day long!

The only positive thing of this accommodation was its location. It is very close to the town centre, where you can find funny clubs and pubs, and to the beaches.

We stayed for one week, I advise you to rent a car. There are many beautiful places westwards the isle. Go and see them (maybe you can find a cleaner place than Iphigenia Apartments).

Hi there, just got back from Ayia Napa and absolutely gutted, was the best 2weeks ever!!

We stayed at the Iphigenia apartments and were on the second floor which is the best place to stay as you don’t get as many ants and would recommend to anyone who does stop on the bottom floor to buy the security deposit box.

Around the pool itself was a bit quiet but it does liven up on the nights as it is a 24hr bar and when the clubs shut at 4am you can guarantee to have a laugh back here. The staff are very friendly and can have a laugh with you.

To everyone travelling here hope you enjoy and have as great of a holiday as me and my friends had and I have to say I am sooo jealous!!!

OH MY GOD!!!!!! Best holiday, EVER!

We stayed at Iphigenia for a week and seriously didn't want to come home!

The room was a good size, ground floor, pool view- although if there is more than three in your party one of you will most probably be stuck with a pull out camp bed, and oh yes- it does collapse, all the time!!!

Ants- yes, but not a problem, just have a stamping fit and they will soon die!! Only saw two cockroaches- thank god!

The pool was a good size and always plenty of sunbeds about, good music to but quite repetitive! Food at pool bar was nice, got a bit boring after a while!

Bars/Clubs not far at all, don't stick to the first ones you come too- lots more round the corner!! Our favourite bars were Sky Bar, Hollywood, Jurassic and Titanic and Clubs Castle Club and Starskys were wicked!! (Do your own thing- the rep packages are a rip off).

Met some wicked people too- made our holiday! Love it Essex!! DO NOT miss your coach to the airport (oops) they don't even wait five minutes for you then you have to get a mad taxi driver to take you- scary times!! Ha!

Definitely recommend these apts. Take extra towels!! A few robberies also occurred so don't ever leave your door/windows open or anything valuable on display!!

Overall, very cheap considering we were warned it would be expensive- only spent £450 each!

Have a wicked time and do every thing you can within your time there, because when its over you will be sad and depressed and sitting at your desk writing a review watching the rain pouring down your window :(

AYIA NAPA = GOOD TIMES!!!!!

If you are planning on an 18-30 holiday of sun, sex and booze then this hotel is perfect for your requirements!

The rooms are all you would expect for this type of holiday - very basic and not the nicest but it’s a bed for the night.

This hotel is certainly not suitable for families or older couples as it is noisy 24/7!

The hotel staff were tremendous! I smashed my bedroom door in and my mate smashed his in as well and the manager Peter was brilliant about the situation; in most other places a group of 12 lively boys like us would have most certainly been thrown out but the staff there were cracking - very laid back! The bar men Syros and Mario were also sound.

Napa is an expensive place, so make sure you take enough cash away with you. I would recommend at least a grand for 2 weeks!

In terms of nightclubs, then the only places to be are Starskys and Castle I would say. We didn’t bother with any of the after clubs though because there was always something happening around the pool back at the apartments - that was probably the best part of the night!

All in all, I had the best 2 weeks of my life here and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a similar type of holiday.

That's me just got back from Napa and it was great, gutted to be home!

We stayed on the ground floor of these apartments and had a major problem with the ants! As we were a big group of lads it never really bothered us but it may be a bigger problem for all the girlies out there! A little tip - my mate put talcum powder along the front and patio doors, which seemed to help a bit.

Cleaning the room consisted of the maids quickly mopping the floors, replacing the sheets and putting new towels in. This was only done every 3 days or so which wasn't good. We had to use the same dirty towels for a couple of nights.

The manager of the hotel, Peter, was really decent. Any problems and he was more than happy to help and was very reasonable.

The pool and pool bar were both good, however the music got annoying by the end of the 2 weeks as it seemed they had a CD on repeat!

The pubs and clubs were about a 10-minute walk up the hill. Craig's Bar was good for 'buckets', a bit of karaoke and free passes. You should go to 'Sea Cavern' and get a watermelon; they get you smashed! Bedrock was also good.

Best nightclub I thought was Starsky's. Little tip for the lads out there, stand with your back to the bar, tilt your head back then look up, it's a fantastic sight! Club Ice was one of the worst we went to, really expensive.

If you can do a booze cruise then definitely do it! Was a great laugh. Drinking on the boat all day then jumping into the sea. We all got a good tan from doing that. We went with Escapades who organised that for us.

Some of my mates did the Fantasy Boat, which they said was a great laugh. It gets you completely wrecked. Guys come knocking on your doors to offer you tickets; it was about £25.

I took £900 for 2 weeks and came back with £3! Don't regret a second of it!

Hope you all have as good a time as we all did!

Even though the hotel was not up to scratch, it was the best holiday ever!

The hotel was not too great, rooms were very basic. As soon as we walked in the door, we noticed the floor was covered in ants, but there was not much we could do. We had a tiny cockroach in our bathroom. But girls we knew lived on the ground floor had 2 massive cockroaches. We lived in the first floor.

We had to pay extra for air con, and to be honest, it wasn't worth it. Our room was still boiling hot when we got in every day and there were a few mornings i woke up to find myself sleeping on the balcony cos it was cooler out there.

There was a maid service but found they weren't very friendly. They would barge into our apartment at 10am when we were still in bed, they would sweep the floor and make us get out of bed so they could change the sheets. If you had that service in Britain, it would be appalling.

Also, while we were there, the water in the whole of Ayia Napa was off for about 6 hours. so no one could cook or even shower. It happened in the evening as well when everyone is getting out the pool for a shower and for food. and even though there was a lot of complaints at reception, they didn't do anything. Complimentary bottles of water would of been fine.

The reps were amazing! Danielle, Daz and Marcus were our reps and were always around the pool for a chat. And they never pushed us into doing anything we didn't want.

Anyway...even though it sounds really bad, it was an amazing holiday and i would def go back again as long as our air con properly worked!!!
