This was my first ski holiday as an adult and I took my 13 year old son,Ross. First of all we turned up very late, 2200hrs and the owner Reggie stayed on with the staff to give us a three course hot meal and a very friendly greeting. This excellent first impression lasted... more

We stayed at the Hotel Hannes in March (2008 ) and I have to admit that I was a little apprehensive as I had read mixed reviews. We were pleasantly surprised with the Hotel and the location, which is a 5 min walk to the Gondola and the nursey slopes. The hotel was clean,... more

We stayed at Hotel Hannes as it seemed (from the internet site and First Choice blurb) to be a nice family run hotel with good food and good location. Couldn't be more wrong! Firstly I would say this definitely isn't 3 star. More like 2, at a shove. The rooms were ok, but... more

We arrived at Hotel Hannes in January. The hotel looks pleasant from the outside. Inside the rooms are very basic, they lack any finishing touches. No Kettle, coffee/tea in rooms or hairdryer. The interior in the rooms are very dated and the bedding could be binned and... more

I and a friend went to this hotel for one week and it was a really friendly hotel, the owner was really polite and helpful too. We had a half board holiday and the food was really nice (breakfast from 8-9.30 and dinner at half 6 on the dot). There is a baby slope directly... more

I cannot fault this hotel. The welcome is wonderful and the whole place has a lovely homely feel. The owners make you feel like part of the family, and if you are a beginner like we were, it is a 2 minute walk from a lovely blue run. The food was simple but very nice,... more

excellent stay and service
can t believe anyone could write a bad review about this place, returned from a stay at the hotel hannes on sat 15th march 08 and what a great stay it was , host and owner reggie was so friendly as were all the staff.the rooms were clean and comfey and the location was quiet but near where everything happened. the food was fine too. recommend this hotel to anyone whos going or thinking off it :) everyone i spoke to there enjoyed their stay , noone had any complaints
Loved the Hotel Hannes
This was our second time staying at the Hotel Hannes and it was just as fantastic! The hotel is in a great location around a 4 minute walk to the main gondola and ski school, there is a great little blue run opposite the hotel which is great for confidence building if you are a beginner. Rooms are a good size and are cleaned daily. Reggie the owner really made our holiday - what a great sense of humour she has!! she can't do enough for you. Ive stayed in a lot of hotels but I can honestly say this is the most friendliest hotel iv'e ever stayed in..oh and the food is superb, choice of two three course meals all of which were excellent!! compliments to Reggie's husband. I would definately recommend this hotel to everyone I know and as I am a travel agent I will be recommending it to my clients too. To the people who have written bad reviews about this hotel - they must have been staying in a completely different hotel!!??!!
Thumbs up to Reggie
After reading previous reports we were somewhat concerned about our forthcoming stay. We booked 5 double rooms, each of which were clean and presentable. The rooms were attended to each day and towels changed twice within the week. The welcome we received from our host 'Reggie' on arrival was great considering we had had a long day travelling, great food all week. Hats off to the chef!! a choice of 2 menus each evening, and real vegetables!! Reggie and staff were all very helpful, polite and fun.
Well Done Hotel Hannes
Have just returned from a weeks stay at Hotel Hannes and must congratulate the owners and their staff for making our stay so welcoming and comfortable. Excellent food and service with a smile and a sense of humour as well. Rooms very clean and a power shower to die for at the end of a days skiing. Having read reviews from previous customers cannot believe some of the comments made. Are you sure that you stayed at the same hotel? Would recommend this hotel to everyone.
try it you will like it
Just came home from the Hotel Hannes! As a group of ten people, there was not one single complaint. When arriving late there was a hot meal waiting, a clean room and a great little bar. Reggie (she was the owner had been with first choice for twenty years) and the staff were great and very polite. Reggie even offered to lend me some money until the cash point in the village was fixed, great sense of humour Before going, we read three reviews saying don’t go to the Hotel Hannes. And was a little concerned! If you read these, have a closer look and they appear to be written by the same person In fact, if you read closer They say that the window was broken, but they are tilt and turns and obviously were too stupid to use them There is a separate room for games There is under floor heating so you don’t need radiators There was a choice of two three course meals, not a two course meal and our towels was changed every day and sheets were clean Good intermediate skiing, adequate après ski untill 4 AM Try it you will like it
Mr proper and family
I cannot believe that after reading the reviews that anyone could write bad about Hotel Hannes. Was this the same person making the same complain each time. We have just got back from Hotel Hannes just a week ago and we had a fabulous stay, made even more enjoyable by the excellant friendliness of the management especially 'reggie'. The food was out of this world, compliments to the chef , the staff were so helpful nothing was too much trouble, they worked extremely hard. The rooms and hotel were very clean and warm. Stiuated in the perfect spot, away from the noisey town and 100 yards just off the slopes on a perfect skiing year. The only thing that wasnt enough of was the snow but no one can garentee that. We have stayed in many Hotels in the world including 5* but this one was by far the friendliest and most welcoming we have been to... We will definately go back to visit, winter or summer. Cheers 'reggie' for a super week.
don't stay at Hannes
We stayed at Hotel Hannes as it seemed (from the internet site and first choice blurb) to be a nice family run hotel with good food and good location. Couldn't be more wrong! firstly I would say this definitely isn't 3 star. More like 2, at a shove. The rooms were ok, but very basic. Our window wouldn't close properly, which is a problem when it's snowing outside! I asked the woman who owns the hotel for an extra duvet and explained out problem, she was incredibly rude and unhelpful. The pillows and duvets actually had blood and dirty stains all over them. The bathroom was basic, tiny scratchy towels which weren't changed all week. The maids seemed to come each day but I'm not sure what they did. We had no nice extras, not even a hairdryer or soap. Our main problem was the appaling food and the very very rude woman serving the food. Her manner was extremely rude, unhelpful and mean. The selection of food was bad, very fried or stewed. Desert was an embarrassment of tinned fruit or cream (cream with everything). It seemed like they were trying to save money any which way they could by offering poor quality meat, broth soup and cheap deserts. You even had to pay if you wanted a glass of water with dinner, let alone anything else. We would go down for breakfast around 8.50am (it finished at 9.30am) and there wouldnt be much juice, bread or fruit left. I wouldn't stay here again and wouldn't recommend it. Mean, unfriendly, stingy, no nice lounge area to sit, one tiny radiator in whole hotel for everyone to hang all their wet ski clothes.
Do not go to Hotel Hannes
Having just got back. I wholeheartedly agree with the previous post. The bedrooms are outdated and the sheets and pillows need binning and replaced. Nothing is provided in the rooms. No coffee/tea, kettle, hairdryyer, soap, shampoo. Towels are not changed every day either. Dinner was a choice of 2 courses. Fortunately myself or partner were not vegetarian. The quality of food was of very low standard and dessert consisted of tinned fruit and ice cream nearly everynight. Eating out of the hotel was a far more enjoyable process. As for having to pay for drinks with your meal. You should be at least be provided with complmentary water. This was not so. I also had the same problem with what appeared to be one of the owner when paying for drinks. She was also unapproachable and not in the slightist bit hospitable when we dared to ask for an extra blanket!.. I agree she was RUDE! There is no way that this hotel is 3 star. It is no more than a mid range 2 star and that is mainly due to the fact that is had a nice sauna and steam room. My advice would be. Stay somewhere else.
Do Not Stay At Hotel Hannes
If you are contemplating a stay at Hotel hannes then I would say choose somewhere else in the village. I stayed with my girlfriend on a half board basis in Jan 2008. Firstly, the hotel itself is outdated and the rooms are not very well presented. The duvets and pillows need replacing and the shower more thoroughly cleaned. Room service for the hotel meant simply folding the pillow in to triangle shape and pulling back the duvet to cover the mattress. I cannot remember ever having stayed in a third star hotel that does not provide hand soap or complimentary shampoo/shower gel. The hotel is certainly more like 2 star rather than 3. As far as location is concerned, it is approx 10-15 minute walk from the village where the Gondola is situated. There are a number of other hotels much nearer (and in) the village which are the same cost. Half board food in a third star hotel is not normally bad. At hotel hannes, the food was poor. At the beginning of the week, the owners stated that as my girlfriend and some other guests were vegetarian then they should make suggestions as to what they might like to eat so it could be prepared. Despite several suggestions, not one vegetarian meal requested was prepared. If you are vegetarian, do not even consider hotel hannes. Finally, everyone remembers a holiday when the owners provide a good service. To put it bluntly, the lady who appeared to be in charge was RUDE. The general rule was that drinks were to be paid for at the end of each evening. I had inadvertantly forgotten to pay for a couple of evenings. On the last day, I approached the lady concerned and told her that I would like to settle my bill. The last thing i would want would be to leave the hotel not having paid!! I would have thought that she would have been happy that I showed such honesty but instead she was rude and made comments that it should have been done sooner. It just showed that any previous attempts by her during the week to be pleasant were not a true represention of her personality. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and would advise against either booking with them direct or through a travel agent!!!! Furthermore, on one occasion we asked staff members to help us with bus times to a local village. We had to get back before 1.30pm and expressly stated this. The staff member concerned was not happy that we had asked for help and was dismissive. In fact, the times we were given were wrong and we were forced to get taxis!! We shall be contacting our travel agent to express our concerns. DO NOT GO TO HOTEL HANNES !!!!!!!
Wonderful skiing experience
We stayed in the Hotel Hannes over Christmas 2006. We had a wonderful time. Despite arriving late due to a very delayed flight, the welcome we received was overwhelming. We were given a 3 course meal within 10 mins of arriving and the owners made us feel like a family member. If you are a beginner like we were, there is a lovely blue run just across the road from the hotel. If we visit the area again we would definatly stay here.
