Thara Patong Resort Hotel

My wife and I got a great price for this hotel - B & B at £28 GBP/night/room. The location is great, being just a 5 mins walk from the main nightlife area, but still allowing for a quiet nights sleep. The beach is just across the road. The pool area is fantastic, even more so for children. The grounds and pool are the hotels main feature for a recommendation. We stayed in a standard room (superior, I think). I felt that the old was a about average. The rooms toward the front (nearest baech road) were old and could use some maintence. Overall it was a basic clean room. The rooms in the rear (toward the desk) of the hotel are newer and clean. I would recommend one of these rooms. The hotel includes a great buffet breakfast. The pools are nice very kid friendly. Stayed for 2 nights at Thara Patong. During the process of booking it through asiarooms, i checked the option 'Honeymooners' and when i checked into the hotel, i actually saw the bed arranged with rose petals in heart shape and a vase of red roses on the table. Pleasant surprise! :) The bathroom has a musky smell. I had to let the taps and shower run before using it. Tables and chairs were slightly sticky. Wardrobe was chipped. Have never been to Phuket. Walked past the hotel and checked out the rates. Got a great rate and a stunning room. Clean and big rooms with lovely view of the gardens and the pool. Well stocked mini bar. Great location, very close to all the attractions. Beach across the road. Good breakfast and had a great seafood dinner as well. Staff very friendly. Far enough from the main road not to hear the traffic noise. Staff very friendly and helpful. Activities desk booked us some great outings. Lovely, clean pool.

Room rate reasonable at 1400Baht. Clean but not very new. Stayed 1 nite coz the new hotel that we wanted, (Ban Tai Hotel) was fully occupied. Very convenient location. Went to the restaurant, which is facing the main road of Patong beack, excellent food at reasonable price.

Great location close to beach (across street) and within easy walking distance of all of Patong's shopping, restaurants and nightlife! Yet still peaceful and quiet as all the rooms face the pools in the middle of the hotel, and are tucked back from the main roads behind other buildings. Nice spa. Excellent large pool! Fitness room has very limited equipment but OK for a mini workout. Good tour office in lobby that can arrange wide range of activities and also rental cars (at prices lower than major US companies).
