Odeon Saint Germain

The location can't be beat for this quaint hotel in the midst of the Saint Sulpice area, renowned for its great choice of fashion boutiques. Space is tight but the room has received thoughtful interior design remodeling (lots of damask and brocade, mock-period wood mouldings). If you're looking for a "French" experience for a decent price, this is the place to go. Also very quiet for downtown Paris.

This was our first trip to Paris and we stayed at the Hotel odean Saint Germain on recommendation from friends. The hotel was excellent, and lived up to our expectations. Cool, quiet and of an excellent standard. Our junior suite was lovely. The staff very welcoming and friendly. The hotel is centrally located in a lovely area of Paris. Lovely little hotel in an excellent spot. I booked 2 junior suites through a discount hotel website, at a third of the normal price. I must say, I'd have been furious if I'd paid the usual price, which is upwards of 370 euros. The rooms (rooms 1 and 7) were charming, but tiny, not "suites" in any sense, unless you count two cramped chairs and a minuscule table. As it was, we were happy because we got a bargain. But it is absolutely not worth paying the usual amount for what is effectively a shoebox, no matter how pretty.

We stayed at L'Odeon Saint Germain for five nights recently and loved every minute of it. We had booked a superior room, but were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a junior suite as a result of a couple of glitches with our internet booking. The suite was really the size of a normal room, given that Parisien hotel rooms are notoriously small! Hotel Odeon Saint-Germain located conveniently in Latin Quater at the Left Bank area. You can walk to lots of attractions: St. Germain Blvd (Cafe Deux Magots; Cafe De Fleur; St Sulpice Church; Luxemburg Garden, so on so forth). Lots of great food around: including decent resturaunts, fast feed, street food. A market is very close to the hotel, so you can even walk to the market yourself everyday and try many local food and desert and stuff. For anyone who is looking for a hotel that offers great style with a great location, this is it. Having previously stayed at the Relais Christine in the 6th, I was looking for something a little cheaper than our honeymoon hotel but no less stylish. This certainly fitted the bill in terms of price, and it was cosy and romantic enough to be fitting for a Valentine's weekend when I hadn't seen my husband for a couple of weeks! DO NOT book this hotel as you cannot be sure that you will have a room when you arrive. Made a booking through bookings.com. When I arrived they had overbooked and offered me a room in a much cheaper hotel across the road, but they still wanted to charge me the full rate. They even had the mendacity to charge my credit card earlier in the day knowing that they didn't have a room for me. I've worked in hotels so I know this is a standard ploy in cheap hotels but, not what you expect from a 4*.

The hotel is tucked in a side street just up from the Odeon Metro stop. There are many shops, diners, and pastry shops near by. A very trendy and upbeat area. The location is great for those who like to walk and for those who would prefere to take the Metro. If walking the farthest we walked was to the Arc deTriomphe which was about 40minute stroll away. I absaloutely loved this place! When me and my sister arrived for my 18th the staff were very helpful. With it being an 18th we were coming in at 4, 5 am and they didnt mind one bit! on one occassion a night time guard stayed up to chat with me whilst i waited for some friends to come pick me up for a night out! Its well centralised for all the paris attractions and some great shops. Round the corner there is a starbucks where you can grab a hangover coffee and some snacks.
