We stayed here at the end of a 15 day Egypt tour. This hotel and entire area is still under construction.
Pluses- Our room in the main hotel overlooked the bay and lower bungalows. Great view.
Great reef for snorkeling.
Italian restaurant served a very good 5 course dinner.
Minuses- Overall dining terrible. Buffet style, often cold and very ordinary
The smell of manure (human and animal) permeates the outdoors.
Long tortuous walk to the beach. Main beach has stairs. Snorkeling beach very diffucult to reach. Unfortunately, the snorkel rental shop is at opposite end of snorkeling beach. Roads are unfinished.
Lovely looking hotel, very nice...

Lovely looking hotel, very nice large rooms, pool deck and beach top class. Food and organisation poor. The food was generally at best barely warm and finding a table due to the total absence of any control (watch out for the Russians) was enough to put you off eating. Breakfast was good with a very helpful and pleasant young man cooking fresh eggs/omelettes.
Entertainment was poor and exclusively in italian, however the beer and wine were more than ok but the spirits again were poor.
On the last day you were made to surrender you wrist band when checking out even though you could be there for the rest of the day. As a result even serve yourself coffee had to be paid for, water was free.
Overall it is a fine hotel in a wonderful location but leaves a great deal to be desired on organisation and service. They will no doubt get there in time.
At the right price I would go back again but would not fly Thomas Cook which is without doubt the worst airline I have ever travelled with.
Don't be put off, it was value for money.

Hotel:
The hotel is beautiful situated on the Makadi Heights, overlooking a bay for great snorkelling. The hotel is still under construction and the roads are still bad, with broken shoes as result.
Unfortunately the hotel is going to expand on the other side of the bay. Another 240 rooms are planned there. So, after the next few years of construction works, the great view will be changed in a view over a very big building or a lot of bungalows. Despite, the hotel is only 9 months old, there are many things broken. The finishing touch was done very quickly and cheap.
In the centre of the main building is a meeting place called “Piazza Duomo”. Beautiful created rocky surroundings as a décor. Every night there is an entertainment for kids and elderly. The Egyptian entertainment is very nice, but the Italian entertainment is terrible and the disk-jocky is yelling and shouting through the microphone. I thought we we’re in Italy not in Egypt. Why not Egyptian Music? That what where we came for. The disco inside is in the same area and in the open air. So the noise over the area is horrible until 23.30 h., even when there are only a few people in the “Piazza Duomo”. An Italian restaurant is attached here. But here, they forget the tomato sauce on the pizza’s. Strange. Advice: eat early before the noise of the kids animations starts at 20.30 h
Beach:
The 2 beaches are gorgeous and 30 m lower than the hotel or the bungalows. A very noisy tractor brings you up and down. An elevator is planned. This is THE place for snorkelling. AWESOME, BEAUTIFUL! Boats from Hurghada are anchoring outside the bay for diving and snorkling. Lots of coral and hundreds of species of coloured fish.
Be AWARE for the “towel thieves”. The beach boys from the hotel are cleaning up the beach and the “chaise-longues” and collect every afternoon the towels from the guests. If you “lose” the towel, it costs you another extra € 20,-!!
No, Not a five star hotel, 3 - 4 is more than enough.
Restaurant and Bar:
The food in the restaurant is good, delicious. Lots of variation. It is a pity that there are too many guests and a shortage of waiters. Good Service in Bar and Restaurant. Delicious cocktails and very good Espresso. The All inclusive formula has its advantages. But also disadvantages. It attracks Russians. They drink a lot!!!!! from opening time until closing time. It is an Alcoholics Paradise!!. Disgusting to see.
Rooms / Bungalows:
We stayed in a lovely “2 under one roof” bungalow with own terrace overlooking they bay and sea. Beautiful situated at the bay. If you get a bungalow on the otherside of the area, it is a 10 min. walk to anything. It is a pity that they made a NON ISOLATED connecting door between the 2 rooms in every bungalow. You hear everything. From a fog from your neighbour until crying kids early in the morning or partying drunken Russians until 2.30 h in the morning. If you get a room in the main-building, ask a room on the end of the row of each floor. The noise (from the corridor and reception + disco) is even worse.
Overall we had a pretty good stay. It was a pity for the noisy rooms and disco.
Just returned from the above...

Just returned from the above hotel. It is in a very quiet location and nowhere to go from the hotel other than to Hugharda which is 30 mins away and cost alot by taxi. The hotel bus will only go if a few tourist make the journey.
The hotel is not finished and will be wonderful when it is. The main areas are really lovely. Staff are very friendly and very good. The corridors to the rooms are quite dangerous if you are not watching where you are going as the tiles are not fixed and there are wires sticking out of the floor. The room are very good and most have lovely views. The food was the same every night and not a great variety, it was also cold if you went later in the evening. Beakfast was very good, a a lot of choice.
The week we were there the Animation team was taken over by a very loud Italian person who could not speak English nor any other launguage but Italian and his shows were awful. This spoilt our entertainment and the evening were spoilt. Several people complained and the manager was going to sort it out. An Evening of Egyptian dancing and music would be better and that is what we expected, even music would have been better. Our own rating for the hotel is at present a 4* but will be 5* when it is finished and the other things have been put rightl. The beach is lovely and so is the snorkling. The trips are also very good . Valley of the kings is excellent.
We hope to return in a couple of years when it is finished. Overall we did enjoy our holiday, if you are young it best to go into Hugharda. The rep for Mytravel -Abdo was also very good and very helpful.
