We used this hotel as a stopover on our way to Australia. Very clean and spacious.
Food excellent and inexpensive - go for the full breakfast!! Choice of European and Asian food.
Rooms very clean - serviced every day. Staff very helpful and friendly. Other hotels in area if you don't want to eat at this hotel but the food here was so good we didn't bother trying other places.
Not far from Chinatown and quite central to get to other places - may need a taxi for some like the botanical gardens (well worth a visit). Would recommend this place to anyone wanting a stopover hotel - prices very reasonable.
Not too far from airport, near river - nice for evening walks.

Unlike Nightmare47 we did not have a very good experience at the Miramar. This was our 4th visit to Singapore and have returned since but not to this hotel, nor would we recommend it as either a stopover or holiday base. Our room was tiny and not partiularly clean. The carpet was badly stained and the furniture was old and tired. We had booked 8 months prior to arrival but when we requested reception to change our room we were told it wasn't possible as they were fully booked. Check-in took forever and we found that for every request reception would demand a deposit of S$50 even for holding our luggage after check out on our last day! In all the years we have visited the island state this was the first and last time we paid a deposit on our own luggage. Did they think we would run away and leave it all behid? The breakfast while plentiful was not particularly varied in comparison to other hotels and there was no double glazing in our room, so even though we were on the 11th floor the traffic noise was bothersome for most of the night. We will definitley not stay there again.
