My husband and I, and our two children booked four nights at Golden Coast, through a newspaper holiday offer. We have never stayed at a holiday park before and we have been thrilled with our experience. Golden Coast is a lovely holiday park, with good facilities and... more

We have been going to the Golden Coast for many years through the Sun newspaper deals. We also make a point of upgrading to Silver or Gold lodge and cannot fault them. We stayed in the Gold Lodge in 2011 and absolutely lovely. It even had a heated outdoor pool just... more

My husband and two children booked a 3 day break with Golden Coast through the 'sun' vouchers last weekend with our friends who also have 2 children. When we arrived we were given keys to what I would describe as a grotty council flats next to each other. It was situated... more

We paid £500 for a lakeside lodge, for 3 nights fri-Mon (bank holiday). We arrived on Friday evening and were excited to get our keys and have a mooch around our lodge. Unfortunately when we arrived, despite initial appearances, we quickly realised the lodge wasn't very... more

we stayed here off peak on one of those cheap holidays where you collect the vouchers in the paper, it was end of November and freezing. We were expecting the most basic of accomodation but got a gorgeous chalet in 'The Orchard' that could sleep six with a large open plan... more

Just arrived back from a great stay at Golden Coast. It was booked through the usual national newspaper and was very cheap!! On arrival we were allocated a Honeysuckle Lodge for 2 adults and a 3 year old. We were very pleasantly suprised to find it clean and spacious (and... more

Dates we stayed 19th-23July 2010 Our short break was booked through our local paper, and being cheap we expected cheap!.... but what we got in reality was quite the opposite on both the positive and negative. 1st, we arrived earlier than expected, and having googled the... more

I stayed here in the summer of 2007 (not 2008 as I had to choose in the dropdown menu). We had travelled from North Wales & took hours & we were greeted by the holiday park from hell. Dated - similar to the one you find on the Holiday on the Buses comedy film. Half... more

Stayed at the Golden Coast 5th-12th sept 09. What are people moaning about. We stayed in a Riviera Grande caravan and it was spotless, and you even have table and bench set outside your caravan which have a metal plate on them so you can have a bbq, which we did a few... more

After reading some reviews on here I was very worried about the holiday we had booked at Golden Coast. However, I didn't need to be, as a party of 8 aged 5 to 63! we all had the best time. Staying in a Honeysuckle 3 bed lodge on the lakeside it was lovely, ok it wasn't the... more

Not for us.....
We have stayed at this site before and so knew what to expect. This time we afforded ourselves the luxury of a chalet as it was November. Chalets are basic, not luxury!! We felt the chalet accommodation is in need of refurbishment and looking tired and over used. The bathroom was desperately in need of refurb and there was nowhere to put your toiletries - just a tiny, slim shelf which wouldn't fit a washkit bag on, only a tube of toothpaste! However we had a great time because we were with great company and were not there to rate... more
spotless not pointless
I took my then 7 year old son for a much needed short break and booked the Estoril caravan as it was the perfect size for us, when we arrived it was very clean in every room the bathroom was spotless too. I've been staying at the park for a good few years and would never go back if it was anywhere near as dirty as the reviews i've read on these sites. nothing is perfect all the time our own homes aren't showhomes all the time especially with kiddies around. these are busy parks and things can get overlooked or not done to perfection every... more
Great site, ok apartment, Really nice location
On arrival we were given what can only be discribed as a 'shameful' house. We went straight back to upgrade and then we were given a lovely Villa. The site itself is really nice with lots to do for everyone and the site isnt far from loads of attractions and woolacombe bay itself is really nice, though give Ilfracombe a miss!!! It looks like some of the apartments need work and attention but overall clean and spacious!
Not a pleasant place to stay at all - Avoid!!!!
We stayed at this park from 29.08.08 to 01.09.08, I would not recomend it to anyone! I have complained directly to them by fax and also to the South West Tourism Awards people, whom they state they have an award from. These are the problems we had, it appears we are no alone in these, so wish we'd looked here before booking!! 1. We arrived at approx 5.20pm on Friday 29th, and were directed to pitch 70, when we arrived at the pitch it was completely water logged, with thick deep mud which had been churned up by a motor home, it would... more
Okay, so its not luxury - but its not bad actually...
Having seen some of the reviews regarding the Golden Coast Holiday Parc near Woolacombe I was worried that we had booked the 'holiday from hell'. Thankfully, however our short break (we were there for 5 days only) proved to be pretty good. We arrived early and I expected that we would have to wait a while to get our key to the accomodation. However we had a good start in that we got the key straight away and made our way to the caravan. Staff at reception quite friendly by the way. Accomodation ------------------- We... more
Give it a miss, if you want a luxury lodge
Having used the web site & requested a brochure, we booked a weeks break at the end of July 08 in a two bed Honeysuckle lodge, 2 adults & a 14 year old. Expecting a luxurious lodge in landscaped gardens offering a superior standard of comfort. Able to sit on the patio enjoying a glass of wine whilst watching our daughter play in the pool!!!! No such luck, Accomodation suitable for upto 6 people, a very tired looking third rate foam pull out sofa bed, and two cheap tub chairs in the lounge area, at least 4 people could sit down. Very... more
Lovely Short Break
We booked a Honeysuckle Lodge for Mobnday to Friday for £230 and as there aren't any interior photos on the website, I was a bit worried it was going to be a bit of a dive. However, the lodge/bungalow was enormous with comfortable beds, lots of wardrobe space and a dressing table in each bedroom and loads of room for our four children (three of whom are teenagers) and nice landscaped gardens. The kitchen area was great too. All the facilities were open - something you don't often find in Feb - and the pool was warm and very... more
Great short break. Kids loved it
Well, I'm surprised by the negative review on here. I guess it partly depends on what you expected. We booked via an offer in the SUN where you have to collect coupons, couldn't force myself to read the paper though ;-) The break was very cheap and we upgraded the offer to a luxury caravan. When we arrived everyone was helpful and we were impressed with the look of the park. We got our keys from reception and went to the caravan, which at first looked great but we had major problem in that the caravan was full of... more
Could be good.
This place has all the facilities you could wish for but there's one bit problem - it's FILTHY!!! We had the option of a clematis apartment or an Estoril caravan we saw the state on both and decided to take the caravan. Unfortunately we cut our holiday short as we could'nt bear to sleep in the filthy thing any longer. The caravan's windows were mouldy, so were the curtains, the nets and the air vents! Great for asthma suffers hey? The carpets and floors were so dirty that my children's socks were black. The oven did'nt have any shelves... more
