We have been going to the Golden Coast for many years through the Sun newspaper deals. We also make a point of upgrading to Silver or Gold lodge and cannot fault them. We stayed in the Gold Lodge in 2011 and absolutely lovely. It even had a heated outdoor pool just... more

We paid £500 for a lakeside lodge, for 3 nights fri-Mon (bank holiday). We arrived on Friday evening and were excited to get our keys and have a mooch around our lodge. Unfortunately when we arrived, despite initial appearances, we quickly realised the lodge wasn't very... more

Just arrived back from a great stay at Golden Coast. It was booked through the usual national newspaper and was very cheap!! On arrival we were allocated a Honeysuckle Lodge for 2 adults and a 3 year old. We were very pleasantly suprised to find it clean and spacious (and... more

Dates we stayed 19th-23July 2010 Our short break was booked through our local paper, and being cheap we expected cheap!.... but what we got in reality was quite the opposite on both the positive and negative. 1st, we arrived earlier than expected, and having googled the... more

I stayed here in the summer of 2007 (not 2008 as I had to choose in the dropdown menu). We had travelled from North Wales & took hours & we were greeted by the holiday park from hell. Dated - similar to the one you find on the Holiday on the Buses comedy film. Half... more

Stayed at the Golden Coast 5th-12th sept 09. What are people moaning about. We stayed in a Riviera Grande caravan and it was spotless, and you even have table and bench set outside your caravan which have a metal plate on them so you can have a bbq, which we did a few... more

Could be good.
This place has all the facilities you could wish for but there's one bit problem - it's FILTHY!!! We had the option of a clematis apartment or an Estoril caravan we saw the state on both and decided to take the caravan. Unfortunately we cut our holiday short as we could'nt bear to sleep in the filthy thing any longer. The caravan's windows were mouldy, so were the curtains, the nets and the air vents! Great for asthma suffers hey? The carpets and floors were so dirty that my children's socks were black. The oven did'nt have any shelves inside so you could'nt use that, there were also some esential kitchen items that i really needed that were missing which you would normally expect to be there like a scissors, a tin opener and a chopping board. We did book via the Sun holidays and I know they say you get what you pay for but okay I could deal with old, worn accommodation but surely it should be clean and hygienic? People pay a lot of money to stay in this place normally. Thats not the only thing the swimming areas were dirty and not maintained, we only used the pool once as there was so much chlorine in the pool that we had streaming eyes and a red rash!!! I should know because I'm a swimming coach and spend a couple of hours at a time in a swimming pool teaching and can come out without even an itch. There are some good points to the place too though which is why I say it could be good. There is a pottery cafe which is lovely and clean and the staff are friendly and helpful, although it's quite expensive, but it was the highlight of our weekend. The pub on the site has really good food especially the steak and the takeaway service in the clubhouse has good pizza! The clubhouse has excellent entertainment and the bowling place looks new but still was a bit too dirty seen as it's out of season in October, I dread to think how dirty it is in July! All in all we had a dreadful time but if it was cleaned and maintained more then it could be good.
