Just had to comment on the apartments even though I didn't stay myself. My mum, dad, brother and sisters stayed recently (i visited daily), the rooms were spacious, the pool was lovely and the bar / pool was great craic. Leighton (great singer), Heather (great dancer/kids minder)and George(multi talented!) provided a variety of entertainment. I went for a wedding without my kids but would definately go there again with them.
PS the Robbie Williams show was amazing (Ricky I think his name was ....should go in for Xfactor!!)

What a wonderful holiday my daughter and I had. It was brilliant, the accommodation was fantastic, everything was clean and tidy. The maids came to clean every single day, they were very friendly. The pool was cleaned every morning, Leighton (the entertainment manager) was so funny, I've never laughed so much, he had quite a good singing voice as well.
Food really good and the option to upgrade to half board for 14 euros a day, with breakfast the next day, was really a good idea.
We were so happy with everything that I have already booked to go back next year.

I haven't got a bad thing to say about this place, the accomodation was superb, spotlessly clean and with all kitchen utensils supplied in full. All of the staff where extremely friendly and made us feel really welcome.
Prices for food and drink at the bar where pretty reasonable for local drinks although imported drinks where pretty expensive (Magners cost nearly 7 euros, bacardi breezers just over 4). The food was good and not too expensive (around 11 euros for a good sized main course).
The beach is about a 10-15 minute stroll away and was a nice change for a day away from the pool. Sun beds on the beach cost 2 euro each as do the umbrellas. The beach itself has lovely white sand and clear blue water. Water sports are available and there is a beach bar serving drinks and snacks.
Around the complex there are a limited number of bars and restaurants all offering a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Aiya Napa is a 10 minute bus ride away costing 1.50 euro each way and stops outside the complex. A taxi costs about 10 euro and are readily available.
Aiya Napa has plenty of bars and clubs some of which where extremely expensive (14 euro for 2 drinks!!!!) A few bars have good deals on drinks, again local drinks are pretty inexpensive.
On the whole, this was a great holiday and we will definately return to Macronissos Village again.

My husband and myself took our 12yr son to Cyprus for the first time.
The holiday was all it said in the brochure and more.!
The rep "Ros", was very friendly an nothing was too much trouble.
Plenty to do for the kids, the entertainment was good, with themed nights which were amazing, especially the man who balanced glasses on his head.
I would recomend the excusions, my son and i did the dolphin safari, it ws brilliant.
The accomodation was really nice, very very spacious, and the maids were very friendly too.
My husband took ill on our holiday, the rep and the local hospital were brilliant and so were the staff at the hospital, which was very reassuring.
We are deffinatly going to book for next year.
One of the best holidays ever....

One of the best holidays ever. Rooms - Lovely, basic (but all you need), kept so clean (in 7 days of stay was cleaned 6days). Staff - Very nice, always there to help, the rep you have your meeting with live's on site so could help you all the time if you ever want any info or to book any trips. Pool- Gorgeous, so clean, loads of sun loungers all around it. Entertainment - Amazing, something different on every night, and all so much fun. Food and drinks - All apartments are self catering, but you can have to options for only 14 euros to up grade to having dinner that night and breakfast the next day (very handy if you want one night and morning of not cooking 4 your self) Plus you can do this as much as you like. They do drinks deals, 20euros for 8 drinks and 4 shots. Plus there is the supermarket on site for food and drink as well. This holiday would suit everyone, familys, couples (old and young) friends, plus the staff are great with kids. I wouls recomend this holiday to anyone! Im def going back next year.

We stayed at the village self catering, but there is no cooker!!! The apartments are VERY basic. The food at the retaurant is very expensive, and it is cheaper to book an all-inclusive holiday, although you wouldnt think it at the time of booking, but you would save yourself 100's of pounds!!! They say they have a kids club for 4-12 year olds, but my son is 10 and he doesnt like doing face painting and drawing round his hands!!! I would'nt advise anyone with older children to go here as it will cost you a fortune. The village is quite a way from the beach and shops. The on site shop is very expensive, its worth shopping outside the village. When we were there, there was a huge fight not something you want on your holidays!!!! It definately doesnt deserve 3.5 stars, it qualifies for maximum of 2 stars!!

I stayed in Macronissos from the 29th June-13th July 08...When we got to the hotel and saw the reception area we were quite impressed. We were also very impressed with the beautiful gardens surrounding the swimming pool. HOWEVER when we got to our rooms aour first reaction was 'is this it??'
The accomodation was VERY BASIC, very basic decor, very basic kitchen facilities...there was no microwave or oven which we were quite shocked at! All there was was 2 portable hobs which was quite pathetic. Netherless as time went on it did not bother us so much as we just ate out most nights.
The food from the hotel bar was decent with your usual chips steak local dishes menu...The portions were quite big and prices weere reasonable. There are a vareity of restaurants about 5 mins form the hotel and a supermarket just across to the hotel. There is a bigger supermarket about 7-8 mins walk from hotel which has got an ATM machine.
A cab into the Ayia Napa square (where you find all the clubs) is a good 10 mins drive, there is NO WAY YOU CAN WALK IT THERE! A cab cost us 9 euros and slightly more expensive coming home.
Macronissos beach is about 10 min walk, its a beautiful beach very quiet...We went to Nissi beach (15 mins walk or a bus ride away) almost everyday this is the 'young spot' very lively down there with music and entertainment.
Overall I would say the hotel is not really suited to famillies unless you do not mind loud music blaring out at the swimming pool area/bar from 10am till bout 3am!
Personally I would stay there again as I got what I paid for. My friends say they would not stay there again! Its def NOT a 3half star hotel, the surroundings maybe but not the accomodation!

Just home from a week at the Macronissos Village, have to admit I along with a few friends really enjoyed our stay there.
The appartments are basic but extremely clean and the cleaning staff were very helpful with our needs.
The entertainment we experienced was excellent, the hypnotist was hilarious!!! The bar staff along with waiting staff were also really helpful towards our needs. Great pool also!!
All in all very good and would recommend not just macronnisos village but ayia napa as a whole as well. Good spot!!

AFTER READING PREVIOUS I THOUGHT IT ONLY FAIR TO PUT STRAIGHT SOME OF THE CRAP I READ ABOUT MACRONNISSOS VILLAGE.
IT IS SUPERB.
THE ROOMS ARE BASIC BUT SPOTLESS AND CLEANED PROPERLY 6 DAYS A WEEK. TOWELS ARE PLENTIFUL(WHICH WAS HANDY WITH 3 KIDS)
THE POOL AREA IS EXCELLENT WITH LOTS HAPPENING YET LOADS OF ROOM FOR EVERYONE.THE ENTERTAINMENT AROUND THE POOL WAS QUITE GOOD WITH lEIGHTON AND KATIE,AND THE KIDS CLUB RUN BY CHARLENE WAS EXCELLENT WITH HERSELF GENUINELY CARING IF THE KIDS ENJOYED THE STAY AS MUCH AS THE ADULTS.
THE BAR AND RESTAURANT AREA IS ALSO TOPS AND ADAM AND THE GUYS DO GO OUT OF THEIR WAY TO MAKE YOU FEEL WELCOME.
IT IS SLIGHTLY OUTSIDE AYIA NAPA BUT 7EUROS GETS YOU IN AND THE BEACHES IN MACRONNISSOS ARE SECOND TO NONE. THE ENTERTAINMENT AT NIGHT IS QUITE GOOD AND AGAIN LEIGHTON AND CHARLENE STAR WITH THE HYPNOTIST ACT A MUST SEE.........
IN ALL THE YEARS IVE BROUGHT MY KIDS AWAY I TRY NOT TO RETURN TO THE SAME HOTEL/APARTS TWICE BUT I AM SURE I WILL GO BACK HERE.

I stayed here for a week with my boyfriend the pool was excellent very big and was very clean, the food in the poolside bar was fine we ate there in the day. The bar staff panos and florence made the holiday lots of fun they were very welcoming. The childrens entertainer matt was a lot of fun organised pool games n got everyone to join in. The rooms were of a good size for two people they were not anything flash but everything worked and it was fine for the week. The maids came every day and cleaned and our bedding was changed often. We are hoping to come back again in june because we enjoyed it so much.

This is supposed to be a 3star plus accommodation but turned out to be an appalling place to stay.
The rooms are shabby and dirty with cracked tiles, leaking toilet, dirty bed linen, cot with holes in and old stained bit of foam as the mattress, blood up the walls etc etc. The whole place looked like it could do with a major overhaul and a really good scrub.
The sun loungers had turned grey and on use of the highchair, we found bits of old spaghetti hanging off the chair along with black mould on the seat. As it was so bad, especially with a young child, we paid out the extra money and went to stay in a nearby hotel.
The Holiday rep was more interested in his night before's shenanigans' Ie jumping off Cape Greko and going out and getting completely drunk.
We wrote to the Holiday Company and complained but as usual they denied any responsibility. We have been to Cyprus at least 9 times and never have we encountered such a horrid place.
We have just returned from the...

We have just returned from the Macronnissos Village after a weeks holiday.
The accomodation looks from the outside very impressive and the pool area is very clean with plenty of sun beds. The internal rooms leave a lot to be desired as we had stained bedding and towels and the maids visited three times during our stay but the room never had the floors cleaned or the bathroom.
We saw rats in the hotel grounds running near the reception area which when it got dark was not well lit so made it unpleasant when walking around at night.
We are a young couple with no children but following our stay I would not return to stay in the village, its unclean inside, too far away from the town and the buses are not reliable.
I feel this holiday was not good value for money and we wouldn't return. It needs some serious attention inside the rooms.

Went to Macronissos holiday village with a friend in July.
My first thoughts on seeing the complex was very impressed. Very clean, tidy gardens, football pitch, gym and a huge swimming pool.
We stayed in a one bed roomed apartment at the far end, right by a busy main road. The apartment itself was a bit shabby, the furniture was old and really needed renewing, but it was very clean which is the main thing. (Cleaned and replaced towels in room everyday).
The pool area is great the pool itself is clean and there are loads of sunbeds available, the bar I thought was quiet cheap, a pint of keo was about 1.70 English pounds and the food was also very reasonable and of good quality, also the staff were really friendly.
The beach is about 10mins walk away, we never bothered with it because the pool area was so good and it had everything we wanted. (Video games, pool table, football on telly etc).
The resort itself is 3.5miles from centre of Ayia Napa (we walked it in 45mins)but I recommend you use the buses, these are cheap but sometimes never seemed to stick to the timetable. Loads of taxis around, these cost us 5 pounds, but we haggled and paid only 4 pounds most of the time.
There are some good places to eat and drink within easy walking distance, we always went into town because there is far more choice, and a bit cheaper.
This holiday village in my opinion is great for kids and adults alike (my friend has gone back in aug with his kids) it’s not too far from town, its right next to water park and close to beach, its clean and tidy, not too expensive for drinks and food, good entertainment on every night.

When i got there and saw the pool and the apartment i was realy pleased it was like a little house with a living area, kitchen with everything you needed. Big bedroom area and nice bathroom everything was clean and we had a large patio area to.
The cleaner came everyday and considering me and my friend are not the tidiest of people she did a great job. The food there was nice but i would avoid the salad because they do wash it in there water and it will give you a upset belly!
The pool area was clean and tidy and you never waited for a sunbed. The only reason i haven't given the place 10 is because we were told it was a short bus ride away from the centre but the buses never seemed to come? The first week we spent a lot of money on taxis to and from the town and the second week we found a place near our apartment that we could get a ped. This was the best thing we did and it was a cheap way of getting around. You'll find a lot of people will be doing the same thing. The holiday was great and i would go back again.
