the hotel was clean and tidy, the staff were very good at their job, good evening entertainment, food was good although not much choice, and they do watch how many drinks you are having, but on the whole it was very good, and would return, but would not fly with sky wings again, the plane was tatty and stank.

loved it loved it loved it!
Me and my friends stayed hear the first week in may, the weather was nice (but not great) and it is a good bit away from the town. however this was the best holiday iv been on yet. This was because of the friendly staff (dave) and all of the fun activities during the day. We were first guests soa few things were not up and running correctly. I would def go back to ayia napa and stay in the macronissos (and I wouldn't go back any where).
OK, but too remote
Booked May, as it was before the school holidays. However there seemed to be quite a few noisy children running around most of the day and evening. The apartment itself was nice and spacious. it was not cleaned every day however. The toilet bin also was not emptied every day. I don't think my balcony was cleaned very much at all, due to the remains of a bird's nest remaining there for several days, although the balcony was quite large!. The bar was good, the bar food was quite nice/reasonably priced, and the bar staff/waiting staff were very nice. The swimming pool was very nice. The entertainment was too loud, but they had a good magician one night.. The entertainment guy and rep were very friendly. My main dislike was the location. I liked Ayia Napa itself and would have preferred to stay there, near the harbour. There was a bus service until 6pm, but on the second week it ran to 11:30pm back from Ayia Napa, enabling people to eat out in Ayia Napa etc. However there were a few nice beaches about 20 mins walk away, and Ayia Napa is about 45-50mins walk., which I did every day! There was a nice restaurant next door called the "Garden of Eden" which I enjoyed. Also the Fiji restaurant was nice in Ayia Napa. I found a good Irish pub called "Paddy's", where I spent a few evenings, and 2 other good pubs called "The Golden Arrow", and "The Crown" . .
loved the macronissos
just come back had a fab time could not fault the apartments.very clean&tidy pool was great.mac's bar brill 2people in there 40+2 in there 50 every were we ate the food was excellant. The garden of eden next door is very good also Tonys tavena on nissi avenue comes highly recomended
Good all rounder
We've just returned from 2 weeks at the Macronissos Village, and had a wonderful time. Jump in a taxi to Ayia Napa or catch a local bus, it's just a short drive away. Macronissos beach is well worth a visit, Nissi Beach and Ayia Napa beach are really nice too. The apartments are clean and comfortable and the pool is amazing... was like taking a bath in the July heat! Mac's on site snack bar is good for a light snack, cheap and cheerful. The Garden of Eden Taverna is lovely... amongst many other tavernas along Nissi avenue. Both the Napa Star Inn is great, and the Kings Sword are great with good food and service Entertainment is repetative at the Macronnisos with Kareoke music until gone 1am...so pack your ear plugs! . The waterpark is worth a visit, and take advantage of the many cheap boat excusions such as the Happy Cruise. Had a great holiday and would definately return again.
it was faultless
We stayed at this accomadation from the 4th july till the 18th july with my boyfriend sister and her boyfriend and we loved every minute. We stayed in the bungalows they were regulary cleaned everyday apart from sundays, the staff were very helpful and friendly. The four who went are aged between 18 and 20 it was great as we could go into ayia napa when ever we pleased only costing 5 cyp. The resteraunts near the accomadation were very nice particulary the one next to the kings sword the steak is to die for and service was great .Also there were two very nice resteraunts in ayia napa they were called Zizzi this was italian and the Chinese dragon they were lovely. The Water park was excellant only costing 16 cyp each and only a 5 minute walk from the hotel the water park meets all ages at a reasonable price. I would reccomend this accomadation for anyone and any age absolutley brilliant. oh and the hypnotist is a must see.
Great spot!
Really don't have a bad word to say - had a great time staying here with my girlfriend in early June. We are in our mid 30s and were looking for a nice clean resort to use as a base to see a little of Cyprus. We had a nice spacious apt, which was kept nice and clean, with a great sized balcony. There was not a tv, as another reviewer points out, but I don't understand why in the world you would want a tv! The resort is immaculate, beautifully kept with nice grassy areas, fantastic flowers everywhere and a fine sized pool with plenty of loungers. The bar is great for breakfasts, lunches and dinners, full english for about £3CYP, huge salads for lunch for about the same, and fine steaks for about £9.50CYP or so. It is shaded and airy, has 2 very large tvs which generally have sports on during the day, and some evenings show recent dvd releases. There is good entertainment arranged every night, some excellent singers, and if you get a chance, you have to see the hypnotist show, it's really fantastic. There are also Cypriot BBQ nights and plenty of activities arranged for kids during the day and including kiddies disco early in the evening. There a 3 pool tables, darts, play station, and arcade games all dotted around the bar so you can relax and keep a close eye on kids. Pints were £1.90CYP while we were there, and Vodka and 7UP about £1.50CYP if I can remember, but not sure. I do remember that there are 2 happy hours each evening, all drinks are £1CYP :) , I think they were from 6-7pm and then from 12-1am. The resort is nice and quiet at night. We ate there about 3 lunches and 2 evening meals, which were good, but went out to restaraunts for the rest - to try out some local cuisine. The resort is not really within walking disatance to Ayia Napa - we walked it one evening and it took about an hour, it's 3 miles or so - but taxis go past reception all the time and its £5CYP in, which was fine. Oops, gone on a bit here! Anyway, we had a fantastic time here, and have travelled alot, and have been furiously disappointed in the past - so we thoroughly recommend this resort and are strongly considering returning. Oh, last thing, the staff are great, I mean really great - they are funny, courteous, helpful and join in with some of the fun in the evenings!! David & Avril, Ireland
beautiful complex
this complex was faultless by far, the accommodation was beautiful we had a bungalow it had a bedroom bathroom kitchen living area, outside patio and upstairs patio, (brilliant for that personal sunbathing-no white bits) the complex restaraunt was not fab, ok for breakfast and snacks but expensive, the entertainment was poor, the weather was wonderful never a cloud in the sky the only quibble we had was that it was 3km from anywhere, taxis or car hire was a must, we orginally booked THE OLYMPIC LAGOON COMPLEX WE WOULD HAVE PAID(£3,500) which was next door to THE MACRONISSOSS WE ACTUALLY PAID (£1,600) THE accommodation was just as good apart from the entertainment we visited the olympic for the entertainment and its facilities, and saved a lot of money, we will visit again but when our children have flown the nest Cyprus was just to expensive for a family of 4.
Fine, if you want to be out of town.
My wife and I stayed here in August. The apartment size was quite generous, one of the biggest we ever stayed in. The decor left a little to be desired however but then again we weren't expecting anything luxurious. There was no TV or radio. The biggest problem though was the location. It's too far out of town and too far from the nearest beach. Walking into or out of town in the hot summer sun is not an option and the nearest beach is a good 20 minutes walk at least. There is a good bus service into town but at night a taxi is the only option back. This can work out quite expensive over the stay of the holiday. You can of course hire a car but it isn't cheap to do so in Cyprus. The beaches in Cyprus are the best we've ever experienced: crystal clear water the temperature of a warm bath with expanses of golden sand and a gentle gradient. Once we experienced those there was no way we were going to lounge around the pool of the Macronissos. Friends of ours stayed at the Faros Hotel in Ayia Napa and when we go back there next year that is where we'll stay.
Entertainment Made My Holiday
I am mainly writing this review about our entertainment we recieved, During the peak season if anyone had traveled to macronissos you would know the entertainer named Danny. Danny worked at macronissos along with other entertainers who must i add, made minimal effort to get involved with anything they were supposed to. Danny was the one who kept macronissos village standing on its feet throughout the season, He kept all guests entertained, tried to do a bit of everything seeing as the others did nothing all day long, He used to lead activities entertaining adults, then he used to try and run to kids club to entertain the kids, which all the kids loved him. He had no help and support from the other 2. If you did not visit macronissoss village this season, i think danny will be back next season, Danny left macronisoss Mid September, so from there on you probably didnt have a good a standard of entertainment in macronissos. He made every families holiday, and i hope he returns next season and does it all again, Hopefully with a team of entertainers who are awilling to help him this time and not make him work 14hrs a day practically on his own. Well done buddy, I'll See you next year !!
Lovely Macronissos Village
My husband and i stayed at the Macronissos Village, Ayia Napa 7th - 21st October...weather was brilliant for that first week, not to hot not too cold was just right. I have stayed here before October 2004 and the atmosphere was amazing very lively, the club reps were brilliant too. But this year wasnt very impressed with the club rep he made minimal amoutn of effort, there was hardly any music around the pool area. This is a 3.5 star apartment must mention there is no tv so make sure u bring a radio or something, which i regretted not doing otherwise ull get bored! Food is good at the hotel better than eating out, the waitors are very friendly and hospitable, i am greek myself so i felt at home.
