We stayed at the Residence A Merula during the last week of September and can thoroughly recommend the apartments.
The decor of the apartments is Laura Ashley-type in style – complimentary supplies are placed in your room on arrival (pint of milk, loaf of bread, couple of beers etc… - which was a nice surprise).
The pool area is kept very clean (be warned however – the water is very cold) and is set in beautiful grounds. The majority of the apartments have good views – although I would specify an apartment overlooking the pool when booking (we stayed in Apartment No. 2 which didn’t have any real view at all – only downfall…)
Residence A Merula is within 10 minutes’ walk of Calvi, which has a lot to offer. Citadel overlooking the lively harbour, beautiful beach (warm sea) backed by pine trees and mountains.
We would also recommend the boat trip to Gibraltar and a trip to Corte plus a stop at the lovely Salon de Thé located in the grounds of the Citadel – very cosy…
