I can agree with all stated by others regarding the hotels standards, cleanliness food etc, I can only add the following: The hotel was quite busy with unattached youngsters when we were there 16/19 year olds mostly German 22/06/08 ---- 06/07/08 there was a minority who... more

Great Xmas break
Took a 5 day break over Xmas with Festive Getaways. Room very spacious and clean with balcony view over the pool and beach. ( Balcony good as hotel interior is nonn smoking.) Food was excellent. Buffet choice great. Xmas eve dinner and Xmas day lunch was a lovely set menu with wine/cava included. Station just across road and gets to Barcelona for 6.20 Euros in just over an hour - pretty journey tracking along the beaches all the way there. City double decker bus tour 2 day pass 24 euros. To get to Lorette and Tossa you take train to Blanes and jump on bus outdie station. Public transport ran spot on time even on Xmas and Boxing day. The hotel organised a Flamenco Spaish night nearby for 25 euros ( i think) well worth it! Great value
star treatment
Star treatment quality rooms.Great entertainment team.Beautiful location and facilities.ex food lovely cocktails great value for money.
Good base in a developed resort
I took the previous reviewer's advice and booked directly, saving 25% on the deals on offer through the booking websites. The good: Modern, spotlessly clean, nice (though basic) rooms, good views over the sea (across railway line, though all properties here tend to suffer from that), friendly staff, across the road from the railway station (1hr to barcelona for around 7 Euros return), free parking, indoor pool (though at extra cost), the choice of breakfast buffet was huge. The bad (Really minor stuff): Satellite TV with only CNN and BBC World Service in English so not entirely entertaining. A modern purpose built resort so no traditional bars or restaurants (frustrating to my personal taste). Hints: Hire a car and go west to the Montseny National park for some stunning mountains - Hike (or drive) up Turo de'l Home for panoramic views including the coast and the pyrenees. Take a healthy (25 minute) walk along the promenade to Malgrat de Mar where you'll find lots of traditional cafes and restaurants. Take the train to Blanes for some nice sea front restaurants - Sunday was great as local families were promenading as we enjoyed lunch overlooking the sea. There is a Carrefour supermarket close by (5 minute drive or 15/20 minute walk) where you can stock up on food and drink (we picniced on our balcony a couple of evenings).
great value if booked direct
booked 6 nights b + b for two for £40 a night great hotel for something like this nice big roomn two double beds . big bathroom with bidet. really hot and powerful shower. rooms cleaned daily and towels changed daily . mini bar cost us 22 euros to get it for the week with about 15 soft drinks or we could have paid 2 euros a day for it empty - ideal for keeping the cava cool - necessary when you buy it in the hotel owned supermarket at 3.25 rather than in the bar at 16.75!! great balcony we got the sun in the afternoon. ideal for the station and about a 5 minute walk to the centre of santa susanna. downside was the food. we were b and b ( we had been half board in the aqua hotel montagut suites last year and it was excellent value again) There appears to be nowhere in Santa Susanna where you can get genuine spanish food. we went to one rest linked to the Mercury Hotel which wasnt bad but we paid 50 euros for a three course meal for two with a glass of rioja which bizarrely was chilled and we couldnt eat there every night as the choice was limited. With the excpetion of The Ship - a british owned pub but where food was ok everywhere else sold hard baguettes, hot dogs, burgers or pasta and pizza and paella all of which were blitzed in a microwave - athough the chips were good - if you were feeding a small army ! we had to go to barcelona to get a decent meal! if you go - go half board
Excellent hotel
This hotel definitely met with my expectations and that of my family. My wife and I and our 2 children stayed here for 4 nights and the whole experience was generally very favourable. The hotel is clean, modern, spacious with attentive staff and high quality on offer. The rooms are well appointed and the food is of a high level. The swimming pool is the best in the resort as far as we were concerned. I would totally recommend this hotel to families as a safe bet!! One word of caution, if you are a family with small children or like your beauty sleep before midnight make sure you are not allocated rooms 101 to 110 on the first floor as these rooms are directly above the music area and the sound proofing is non existent! However, this is one very small negative in what otherewise is a very classy and high quality hotel.
Very nice!!!
This is a very nice hotel. Very clean. Across the street from the beach. It was to cold to use the pool outside. There is a fee to use the indoor pool. The meals are buffet style, but nice.
Top class all the way!!!
One of the best hotels i have stayed in.Cleaner than clean.Food was superb.Loads of choice and always fresh.Pool and lounging area nice size, got to get your lounger early though or youl miss out.couldnt fault the place one bit,was just a pity we had to leave.Had a great time at onabrava,Sure you will..
Had a great time!
My wife and I stayed here for a quick 4 day getaway and we had a great time. The rooms were simple but clean and very well-kept. The pool area was always in order. The food was plentiful, varied and quite good. The staff was polite and helpful. The location of the hotel was especially good -- right along the main promenade of Santa Susanna, just a short walk to the train or to the ocean. The train takes you into Barcelona in an hour, so it's a good place to stay if you want to take a day trip (as we did). Santa Susanna is a nice little touristy town, with your standard trinket shops and the obligatory "British" pub. It's a safe town as well, we had no concerns walking at night. Now, if you're looking for a hotel in the lap of luxury with everything in the hotel of the highest possible quality -- then this isn't the place for you. It's a resort hotel, a place to lay by the pool, do some shopping, eat more than you should and just relax. We found it to be a very nice resort and excellent value for money. We've recommended it to friends and we recommend it to you!
4 Star? They've got to be kidding
Start with a cavernous, all hard surfaced foyer/hotel bar/ lounge which is designed to (and does) magnify any noise at all, throw in a ring of mould around the bath (see photo), a very prissy maitre d' in the aircraft hangar sized dining room who makes the rules (yes, really, the rules) up as he goes along, balcony lighting that goes off at 12:00, add it all up and this hotel is not for relaxing. Breakfast food is as plentiful as you could want BUT you wouldn't want any of it as everything that is warm (N.B. NOT hot) except tomatoes and fried eggs is the consistency of Jello. Cold choices are vastly better and plentiful. Beware the dinner which is expensive by local standards and is mostly lukewarm save the chips which are cold even as they appear on the counter. TV has only two (despite the notice in the room) english channels, the same number as russian. These are CNN and BBC News 24 so, other than for a regular check, largely repeated. Very difficult to access at night from the main road as signposting is poor. Car park is rolled sand so don't wear shoes you care about. In fairness, a truly excellent, knowledgeable and friendly night desk manager (50s and moustached) and, with one loutish exception, friendly and fast bar staff try hard to make up for the rest of the place but there's only so much they can do. Avoid at all costs.
A very nice hotel and a great holiday
This hotel was clean and tidy, the restaurant had a good variety of food and always plenty of seating, even in busy times. On the whole, the staff were friendly and polite, and always helpful. However, some of the reception staff did struggle to understand english that well, and are not always the fastest! Saying that, every request we had was dealt with and we were not unhappy. Our room had air conditioning, and was kept very clean. The bathroom was a nice size and always well stocked with towels, toiletries and toilet paper. We stayed here when the Spanish Grand Prix was on (we had already bought our tickets direct from the circuit months before). there was a bus direct from the htoel to the circuit for 25 euros each, on all 3 days. We went to Barcelona 3 times while staying here - the train platform is only just over the road and only costs 6 euros each return to Barcelona and about a one hour trip.
