i specifically asked for quiet location and quess where they put us? right behind the river reggae club which is open from 4am to 7am every night!! so asked to moved elsewhere quiet so we got it only to get drunken british crashing in at 4am every night!!
apart from that , the pool is too small to swim, but lucky olypic allows us to use the pool down the road - tsakkos? which was cosy and friendly atmosphere

this appartment is the cheapest, they do change ur bedsheets and clean ur apparment everyday except they forgot on sunday.

if u r looking just for a bed to sleep in, no sea view, no luxery, then this is the place to live . perfect for clubbers !
as its located near the town, u can even hear the bar from a distance...

wont be coming back here again, we need a bit of luxury

just arrived back from a week in...

just arrived back from a week in ayia napa with my 2 friends and it was AMAZING!! we loved every minute of it and are planning on returning back next year. we stayed at the riverside appartments situated 5 mins away from the busy night life couldnt have asked for a better hotel, fair enough it is small but we basically had the pool to our selfs the whole time we were there. All the people were friendly and the food was good. if your looking for an alright hotel in a great location near all the pubs and clubs this is the hotel to stay at one thing i would warn u about is the reception closes at 20:00 so if your money is in the safe make sure u have it before then as we fell asleep and couldnt get access to any money until the following morning. hope this helps everyone thats looking for a great time in ayia napa!! have a good holiday!! ( make sure u visit the castle club its wicked!!!)

"Basic accommodation" is not the words that i would use. The rooms were disgusting ants every where. It was unsafe we stayed on the first floor and our balcony door was broke an easy accesses to anyone, every night there was random people walking in and out or in the swimming pool. The sheets were dirty and the maid came every "now and then" using the words of the owner himself. The bathroom flooded every time we used the shower as it didnt work and ran down the wall. I believe the flooded bathroom was better than the swimming pool.

The Olympic reps were rude and unhelpful, she never told us her name and ignored us.

For the price i paid i was very disappointed.

Although Location was ok only 5mins walk away from the main square, it did'nt make up for the state of the accommodations and totally ruined my hoilday.

I will never use Olympic Holiday and will not be recommending it to friends.

definatly below average, no diving or jumping in the pool! it felt like we were back at school with the telling off we got. we were on our final warning on our 3rd day out of 14 just for jumping in the pool. imagine if the managmet had found out about us at night time jumping off the balcony into the pool haha. the cockroaches in our rooms wasnt very nice and the ants marching up and down the ceelings wernt good either. it was much avoided unless we were gettin ready with a drink, or goin to bed. otherwise not recomended.. the holiday itself was brilliant but ill defiatly not be goin back to this appartment. ill make sure to check reviews next time before staying.

before i went i read up on it and everyone was saying how BAD it was... but in my opinioin if your looking for somewhere to sleep beacuse your going to be at the beach all day and clubbing all night then its great. it is a 5min walk from the square, local shops and resturants. there is a motor vechile hiring shop across the road and the people who run it are really friendly. there is air con which we got for 30euro for the whole 11 days and there were no sign of insects. the pool is small but means you get to know people staying there. and the best bit is that the owners leave at 8.30 meaning you can bring anyone back to your room(wink, wink, if you know what i mean!).

overall my stay at Riverside was really good and even though it is so close to the night life(and river reggae which goes on till morning) it is really quiet. it doesnt look as nice as some of the other hotels on the island...but never judge a book by its cover!!!

The only thing good about this hotel was the maid, even though she robbed a pair of my trainer socks. Stayed in Ayia Napa at Riverside for 2 weeks and used the pool once! As it was more of a pond with hardly any chairs or beds around it!

Room's were big but in a bad state, dodgy wiring, dodgy wall sockets, millions of ants in every place you look..shared a room with a cockroach too!

It's pretty close to the night life but I would not reccommend staying at this hotel at all.

The air con is more expensive than the actual accommodation, and even that sets itself on fire...!

Will be going back to Ayia Napa possibly in a couple more years and would steer well clear of Riverside, that's if it hasnt been shut down!

there is only one word i can use to describe this apartment block, RUBBISH!

me and 7 other friends were on our first visit to Aiya Napa but our third lads holiday.

when we entered the rooms we all looked at each other in total disbelief. The place was a total dump. The bathroom was tiny, no ventilation and manky. the bedroom itself did look ok but we soon found out we had to pay for aircon, which was 5euro a day and did not work at all. This made us have 7 dreadfully warm nights, where i found myself sleeping on the balcony with the mosquito's. To make things worse the walls were filthy and they even had writing on them, looking like a prison cell. Thank god we only stopped for a week!!

i would not recommend this place for anyone, total rip off!

Sounds like i'm gonna have a...

accomodation was basic but clean. good enough as somewhere to sleep and change in but not much more. air conditioning was loud and gave my friend a chest infection.

pool was tiny, could not swim a length in it. pictures of the pool are decieving.

had some problems with safety deposit boxes. theyre kept at reception not in your room and you can only gain access when the manager is in. so after half 8 you cannot get anything out.

maid was efficient but after a night clubbing the last thing you want is the maid wanting to you to get up so she can change your sheets at 7 o'clock in the morning.

location was good.

overall, dont go expecting much but the hotel is good enough as a base.

Basically if all your looking to do is use your apartment as a place tp sleep then this can be good enough, if your relying on your apartment for sunbathing, relaxing and time in the pool then i'd think again! The picture you see in brochures isnt necessarily the place you will stay, theres 2 other blocks opposite which are very basic. The holiday I had was a good one and the situation of the apartment did help as everything was very close, although the beach is about a 15 minute walk. If you like it cheap and cheerful then go ahead!

An ideal location for those who...

An ideal location for those who prefer a relaxing atmosphere and country setting, although the beach isn't too far away. If the hotel bus doesn't run at a time to suit, the local dolmus (mini bus) from Alsancak to Kyrenia is only a short walk away. You can also hire a car on-site as well.

Accommodation is spread throughout the complex in semi-detached apartments/villas scattered amongst lemon groves with balconies back and front so you can sit in the sun or shade. My husband and I had a superior villa with a very comfortable double bed, bathroom with bath/shower upstairs, a comfortable lounge area with TV, but don't expect UK programmes, dining table and a kitchen area fitted with gas rings, a full size fridge, kettle, basic utensils and equipment to self cater. If you find you are short of necessary items to self cater..... just ask. The villa was very clean with bed linen changed every few days and towels daily.

The large terrace, outside the restaurant, had open views over fields to Alsancak and the mountains and was an ideal setting at breakfast and for the evening meal. Breakfast was a large, and more than adequate, buffet or you could order English breakfast as an extra. The evening buffet was excellent and there was a large selection of mezes (starters) and two main dishes with, potatoes, rice or pasta which changed nightly. No one was rationing what you ate either!

A huge fun pool for children keeps families occupied for most of the day whilst the Olympic size pool is usually the domain of the adults. A snack bar is close to hand and there is also a pub.

Riverside is family owned and managed. The family and staff were very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble.

When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised by the look of the hotel from the outside, but as soon as we went inside it was a completely different story.

When we tried to open our door the handle on it completely fell off and as we arrived there at seven in the morning we had to wait until half past eight for the manager to arrive and let us in.

Eventually when we got into our room we were quite surprised at how big our apartment was. For the first few days we had no complaints but after about the first week we noticed about 1000 ants crawling all over the floor. After trying to get rid of them and complaining to the hotel they still came back.

Also we were disappointed to discover we had to pay for our air conditioning, it was really expensive so we didn't pay for it.

The pool was the size of a bath and very cold.

The only really good thing about this hotel was the location. Its only five-ten minutes walk to all the clubs.

The cleaners were lovely and did a fantastic job.

I don’t think I would stay here again, but I would definitely return to Cyprus.

Me and my friends stayed in this apartment in September. Looking at the bad reports we were expecting the worst but were surprised when we got there even though the rooms were very basic. They were clean and an ok size for 4 girls sharing.

If your looking for a holiday that you just want to sunbath in the day and go out and get drunk at night what more do you want? You’re 5 mins away to the main square but quiet enough at night (well morning) to get to sleep when you get in from your night out.

The pool wasn’t even that small (just the right size to cool down)!!

The only bad thing we could say is the view was nothing special but we weren’t bothered as we were never in the room. Lets face it though you don’t go to Ayia Napa for the view out of your room!!

This hotel is shocking. The...

This hotel is shocking. The sheets were dirty, there was holes in the ceiling and ants were crawling down the wall, there was a gap underneath the door so cockroaches were getting in and the toilet seat was cracked.

We had to pay for the air conditioning and it didn’t work, we asked if we could be moved as on the first night we experienced cockroaches and ants in the room and they said they could do nothing for us.

The tour operator was also shocking as she said she would help us and she didn’t. One of the worst apartments I have ever stopped in. I do not recommend this apartment.

After reading a few of the comments on this site I wasn't sure what to expect so I decided to expect the worst. Firstly to get the complaints out of the way, yes the pool was small, yes the apartment was small but that’s all I found to complain about and even then it wasn't that bad.

Our apartment was cleaned nearly every other day along with bed linen and towels being changed (unfortunately the poor cleaner had to clean around us as we had a lot of very hectic nights).

A 5 minute walk maximum takes you to all the clubs and pubs, there is a very well stocked supermarket about 20 yards down the road, quad and moped hire is just across the street, the internet cafe is about 100 yards down the street and you are minutes from all the restaurants.

The benefits of having the small pool were that you got to know people very quickly and became friends with most easily. The staff is quite nice and friendly. Every night we were there we came home and went swimming in the pool as there didn’t seem to be anyone preventing us from doing it, except on the last night when there was a fella sitting and wouldn’t let anyone in.

The famous River Reggie club is about 100 yards down the road also so on your way home from the square you can go get changed and head there where everyone has more to drink and just chills out!

Kick out time is 12 on the nose which is difficult if you’ve been out the night before however they cater for those who aren’t leaving until the evening with showers and toilets so if you want to lie by the pool or go swimming you can still shower and change before home time.

All in all I had one of the best holidays ever and would definitely consider staying here again.
