Stella Alpina Edelweiss Hotel

Edelweiss is conveniently located in a quiet alley near the train station and P. Roma bus stop, so you don't have to drag your luggage through the city. The staff is friendly and the breakfast room and breakfast is good. Venice is quite an expensive city, however, at $100 euro/night (double room, shared bath), I'm sure better value for the money can be found. Our room had a far below average bed. It almost sagged to the floor when sat on. Also, rooms are not at all soundproof. You will hear everything going on in adjacent rooms.... more

We stayed there fore 3 nights in September. We paid just under £400 for 3 nights, which is not exactly cheap the days weren't even over the weekend. Location It was great! As we travelled to Vicenza for a day trip and then to Switzerland by train, so being near the train station was very handy. We took a bus which was right outside the airport and it took 20 minutes to get to pz. roma. This was a great hotel,very close to the station but in a side street,so it was quiet.The rooms were clean,spacious and comfortable.Ours overlooked the garden which was pleasant.The bathroom was a good size however there was a step up into it of about 15cm which I tripped up and fell on to the marble floor. It needs a warning sticker or striped tape etc.Breakfasts were yummy and in the garden on a hot day were very enjoyable.We wish we could have stayed longer than 2nights.

23-26 Sept 2008. Double room- shared bathroom. room clean, staff friendly, hotel very convenient for train, vaporetto and bus station. Our ground floor room was spacious and the shutter windows opened onto a little yard. Breakfast buffet good variety of foods; drinks machine acceptable. We had to leave before the breakfast buffet opened on our last day, night staff suggested that we ask for takeaway breakfast, this was a brilliant touch and we were given lots of food and drink- enough for breakfast, snack on the plane home and still... more

Hotel was quite near the Venezia SL train station. We got a clean and bedbug-free room at the back, room 76. Buffet breakfast was good. Staff was friendly and helpful. Will recommend to friends.

We are no world travelers, and actuallyh this was our first time in Italy so we were very open minded. We just wanted to a clean room with breakfast in a perfect location and all that for a reasonable price. I feel like we accomplished all those things at Stella. Hotel is a short five minute walk from the train station which was very convenient. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. You won't spend much time in your hotel in Venice anyway. i would say this is a great hotel for a young couple on a budget.
