I was here for 3nights on business. About 30mins away from the airport.
This hotel is set in lovely countryside unfortunately it right next to the A435 dual carriageway. The windows were paper thin so you heard every car, bus, or lorry that roared by plus whatever pulled into the Shell petrol station across the road.
There is nothing in the surrounding area of interest - no pubs, shops or anything like that - and the only reason I was there was because it was 2miles away from Wythall Business Park. The petrol station is pretty much it.
The rooms were basic and quite small. I had the air conditioning outside all night with no other rooms available. The bathroom I had could have done with an update and the portable TV was from 1982. I heard from colleagues that their rooms weren't much better. The bed wasn't the best I've ever been in but it was clean and tidy if somewhat dated.
The saving grace about this place is the food. The dinners are plentiful and very good and the breakfast is also above average. The pub is well stocked and kills time well enough watching football but you feel almost trapped there.
I have heard that the place has been done up since I was there so hopefully it has been modernised.
