When I read the reviews for the Salmary I was dreading my holiday, but when we got there we were pleasantly suprised. Yes the rooms were a little basic and yes the rooms looked like they were from the 70s but it was still an absolelty amazing holiday and a great place to lay your head at night.

We saw hardly any bugs the whole holiday one cockroach which was outside (thankgod) and an odd dragon fly flying here and there flying around the pool. The owners were lovely (if you were lovely to them) and whenever we asked for something they gave it to us. The maids came at least every other day to clean our rooms.

The 2 lads that worked in the bar were absoletly amazing and really sorted us out by giving us free drinks, and having the 24hr bar really made the holiday that much better.

The pool is small and sometimes can be dirty, but when your havin so much fun with evry1 u seem to 4get, and theres always the beach which is amazing (nissi beach is the best) and u can go to the pool nxt door, but we realised that they never get ne sun because their hotel covers the pool so its always shaded. So id rather stick with the Salmary.

We went with club 18-30 and our rep was with us 24/7 which was gd because she was sooo much fun and knew all the best things to do.

I would recommend the Salmary to all the young people who are looking for a cheap holiday and want somewhere to stay which is 1minutes walk away frm the strip. It really isnt as bad as the other reviews. They are dated from 2005 so they must of done it up.

WOOOO SALMARY - best holiday eveeerrrrrr

Salmary is perfect for a young person’s holiday or if you just want to put your head down at night or a budget.

It is just clean and basic; the family who run the place are lovely people, very friendly.

They have a nice little BBQ in the week.

Wouldn’t recommend it for a family unless you are on a really tight budget, the location is excellent, close to everything.

If you want cheap, close to the everything then Salmary is perfect.

DO NOT GO HERE!

The hotel was awful, the room was bogging even though they did come and clean it most days it was still absolutely rank, as soon as you walked in your feet were black.

The bed sheets didn’t look fresh when we arrived. The plug sockets were hanging off the walls. Our balcony door wouldn’t lock and there were ants everywhere. The staff seemed insulted and angry when we simply asked to get the lock fixed as if it was a bad thing to expect a room that was at least slightly secure.

The view from our balcony was a lovely construction site that looked as if it had been lying derelict for about 100 years. The pool was minging, it hadn’t been cleaned in about a year. The air conditioning kept turning itself off, you pay the extra money but don’t get anything for it.

The staff were very unhelpful, bar the lovely old woman who was always very chatty. Olympic themselves were useless as we complained many times about getting the room fixed but it was never dealt with until like the last days of our holiday. Only go here as a last resort and if you pay more than about 50p for it then you've been seen off just like us!

I came from far away to come to Cyprus. I have some relatives down there. Cyprus is really cool. I stayed for 1 week at the Salmary.

For the first time I felt that I had a family due to this family own hotel. The room was pretty good, any time I asked something ,roll or extra towels I got it.

I will go back to Ayia Napa. Its a unique and amazing place. Cyprus doods were pretty cool too!

Take care.

Oh my god! Those were my first words as i stepped into our room for the first time. I knew the hotel was going to be bad when we were the last ones on the coach when everyone was being dropped off at there hotel, i think they make sure that all the other people on the coach get off at the decent hotels first so they cant see that our hotel was an Olympic hotel.

It’s like when you here stories about the coaching pulling up outside a horrible looking hotel and everyone is praying that their not staying there, but yet still cant help sniggering when other people's names are called out to say that this is there hotel!

When we pulled up there were two lads behind us on the coach and we all looked at each other to say oh ****!

To be fair the Olympic staff were pretty cool and soon got us sorted and told us everything we needed to know and even sorted us out with a new room as the first one was dire! It stunk of mould, looked like it was decorated in the 50's and probably could have been broken into by a 5 year old!

The new room wasn't to bad, apart form the sliding door to the balcony, if you can even call it a balcony didn’t lock, the bed broke just by sleeping on it, we found a used condom, we had to share 1 or 2 loo rolls between 3 of us a week if we were lucky, the towels got changed like once a week and a room near us got broken into, not a bad start for the first few days!

The pool was horrible, quite small, very dirty and had some kind of what I can only describe as market stall green felt material as slabs, you know the stuff!

Don’t get me wrong, the woman there was really friendly but forced us into a bbq which had pork, chicken and salad oh and cockroaches!

Even though the hotel was dire we used the hotel next door as the pool was amazing, as was the holiday! I'll be back in 2006 but I’m going to make sure that we won’t be staying in this hotel!

Urgggggh! Soon as we got there I wanted to cry. The room was disgusting. I have a better room at home called a shed. It stank of mould and we had to ask to move rooms straight away. In all fairness the 2nd room was ok but still had its faults!! We were only issued with one loo roll a week between 3 people.

The towels were never clean and our patio door was easily opened from outside! We found used condoms in the bathroom which was disgusting. the air con looked although it was to fall off the wall at any moment and the women owner was a nightmare. Don’t go to the bbq it was horrible. Cockroaches for fun!

The holiday itself was amazing and going straight back there in 2006. But am I staying in the Salmary? NOT A CHANCE!

We had been travelling for so long and couldn’t wait to laid down. When we first stepped into the room we could tell we were all thinking the same thing. It was horrible. We took our shoes off and within 10 mins our feet were black. Everything about it was dirty. we went to the pool the next morning and it was disgusting. I didn’t dare go in at first but did. As we were there a friend was complaining or ear ache and it was due to the dirty water.

As I got home I also got really bad ear ache. The air conditioning was also faulty and always went off. The ants were a huge problem too. You couldn’t leave any food around. However despite all this we had a great week and everybody who worked there were great.

Never stay there though.

I thought my stay was the worst ever I couldn’t believe my eyes. The rooms were stinking and invested by ants 24/7 we couldn’t get rid, my boyfriend brought a southern fried chicken meal home the 1st night we were there and set it on the table and the next minute it was hiving with ants we couldn’t even eat in the dump.

The family didn’t care at all! We didn’t have hot water for nights.. We just kept complaining. The pool was disgusting. We actually had to go and stay somewhere else for the rest of our holiday I was raging.. Never again.. Please just do not go there it was crazy...

My stay at the Salmary Apartments, Ayia Napa was not very good at all. I have never stayed in apartments like this before and was in total shock on arrival.

There were plug sockets hanging off the wall, the air conditioning machine was useless and leaked all the time onto the balcony so if you stepped out onto the balcony it is likely you would slip an hurt yourself every time. The air conditioning also turned itself off for no apparent reason and spat ice at you at random times of the day!!! If you had a shower you could see the sky as there was a massive hole in the bathroom roof!

However, the family who owned the Salmary were very nice and it was good that they had a 24hour bar. The girls that ran the pool area and the snack bar were also very friendly and helpful. I can say that after my stay at the Salmary apartments, I will never be staying again and would not recommend it to anyone.
