Sliema Chalet Hotel

you get what you pay for. didn't expect too much but was pleasantly suprised with what i paid for. room was okay in size. mattresses were okay but for those with sensitive backs, it may hurt in 3 days. beware of the maltese toilet: you will have flushing issues. you think there is something wrong with the toilet because it doesn't flush properly; you complain; they "fix" it; and it still happens. but there's nothing wrong with the toilet; it's the way you flush it. only over time you will get the "touch" and figure out how to flush those old toilets. and it's not just in the hotel, it's everywhere! it could be quite frustrating. they only have 2 hair dryers for the hotel which you have to borrow/reserve in the front desk with no time limit. so if you need to dry your hair in the morning, it could be frustrating bec. it's almost always out. great location+++ a few feet away from the bus stops and walking distance to the shops and restaurants. there is also a supermarket and a bank nearby, a 5 minute walk to an internet cafe open till 11 PM. nice and quiet at night. there is a gentleman who works during the graveyard shift who is very friendly and helpful. i'll post another review when i remember his name. otherwise, everything was okay. it IS a semi-budget basic hotel.
