A cheap hotel in a great location by the the beach.
Food on AI wasn't very nice, with very little choice for vegetarians, but well worth having AI for the unlimited free drinks!
Apartment was spacious, but very hot and not especially clean.
The hotel pool was filthy - I don't think it was cleaned at all during our stay. I would recommend not using it and going to the beach instead. Scum was floating on the roof terrace whirlpool.
Staff at the reception were helpful and friendly, as well as at the bar. Just the chefs were unwilling to serve much food onto plate.
Local area has lots of shops, a nice beach and bus station is nearby.
I recommend doing a boat trip to the Blue Lagoon, and avoiding the bus sightseeing tour!

First Impressions weren't great. You have to book in at the Canifor Hotel, where the reception is up a rather impressive flight of steps! However the staff there are friendly, and though we were a little miffed at having to lug our baggage up the steps to carry it back down again afterwards!, we were soon shown to our apartments. Our party of 2 couples (53/55 and 47/53) had two apartments on separate floors. We had requested ground floor apartments due to my wife's disability, but found ourselves on the 2nd and 4th floors. There are no ground floor apartments at Canifor Court. The lift worked most of the time(!) until the morning we left in fact, and we had to carry all the luggage down the stairs. The lift is very small, only just room for 2, and has no internal door, so you have to watch the wall go by as you ascend or descend. It's also very slow. Our apartment was simply furnished, a 3 seat sofa, a round dining table and four chairs, a small TV on a wall bracket (no remote), but no English language channels anyway. On the other side of the room, a kitchen unit with sink/drainer, 2 low cupboards, 4 drawers, a wall cupboard and a "Baby Belling" style cooker made up the catering facilities.A corridor led to the bedroom, and a sizable bathroom with toilet, sink, bath and over-bath mixer shower, although this had no visible means of support and had to be hand-held! The bedroom was big, with 3 single beds down one wall, and a camp bed in the corner. 2 wardrobes and a dressing table completed the furniture. We also found an iron, ironing board and hairdryer in the bedroom. The apartment was amply provided with bed linen, changed regularly by the friendly cleaners. The apartment was certainly clean, although maybe in need of a lick of paint. Cheap and cheerful is how I would describe Canifor Court. For a couple or a family with young(er) kids, it's an ideal place to eat and sleep between going out enjoying yourselves.
Locally, across the street, the Cornish Arms cafe serves a nice home-made cornish pastie if that's your thing (order the day before for lunchtime), just around the corner is the Tourist bar although it appears somewhat dilapidated and unwelcoming, the regulars are friendly enough! 20 metres down the street from the apartments (just past the car hire office) is Simon's Elvis Tribute Bar with Elvis memorabilia decor and a twice weekly Elvis Tribute show. 30 metres further on, Murphy's Irish bar also features live entertainment.
Fifty metres in the opposite direction is a classic car museum, claiming 70 cars on display.
Another 100 metres takes you to grocery shops, and 100 metres more to the Qawra/Bugibba bus terminus. You will see that the apartments are well served for "support services".
Tip for bus travel: Pick up the bus routes leaflet from the bus station office, the buses only carry a route number, no destination board, so you have to know which number you want. The leaflet also lists the fares for the journeys, so you can decide whether it's worthwhile buying a day ticket (it usually isn't) . Also, try to give the exact fare, as drivers often short-change you!
