Do not go to Hotel Sole in Malcesine (really in Navene) if you want courteous waiters, there were only two and sometimes an older man who always wore jeans. The food was either cold, unappetising or plain awful. The tablecloths were not changed even the outside ones when it rained. It was on a main road with no where to walk to unless you took your life in your hands.
The rooms had en suites but the showers leaked in most of them. I have always loved Italy but this hotel is the worst one I have ever stayed in. I could go on but I will just say it may be cheap but I would not touch it with a barge pole.
