" I went to the Panorama Studios in... "

I went to the Panorama Studios in August of this year and had a fantastic time. This was definitely one of my best holidays ever.

I have never met such nice people in my life, as all the locals were extremely family orientated, especially the staff at Panorama. Faliraki does not live up to its reputation it once might have had. I had a few good nights in the apartments bar, as the night staff would let us take over and take control of the music etc. There were surprisingly a few families there who had a good time.

The only down side was the hill which Panorama is situated on - it is a nightmare to walk up in the afternoon heat or you’ve been out for the night! Having said that all taxis would take us to panorama and it was fairly cheap. I would certainly go again. if just to see Savas again - and I would recommend this holiday to anyone up for a good time.
" Despite all the documentaries etc on... "

Despite all the documentaries etc on Faliraki it is not as bad as they make out. I had a brilliant time whilst there only 1 weeks ago. the only disappointment about the hotel was that it was on top of a hill and hurt your legs every time you walked up it oh that and the fact that we were 20mins walk away from the town and in weather above 100F is was unbearable.

Libra holidays however are money grabbers they offered us nothing and I would never deal with them again. we had to be out of our room by 12 mid day but weren’t actually flying until 3am the next morning Libra tried to get us to pay them £70 each and they would take us on a boat trip for the day. this trip could be purchased for £12 in the town. Whenever we needed our rep Allison she was never around she was rude and thought only of herself.

Faliraki on the other hand had brilliant night life excellent beaches a great place I would say for single people although during the day it is very quiet, most of the food is great a lot tastes salty but you get use to it. However it is an expensive place the best food restaurant was a place called Hawaii

anyone else enjoy it as much as me?

" Just returned from a fantastic week... "

Just returned from a fantastic week in the Panorama Studios just outside Faliraki. We booked last minute and had some reservations about going to Faliraki after recent press reports etc. It does not live up to its "reputation".
The studios were fantastic. Small and set in the hillside in a very quiet location, they are clean, well run and very friendly. The swimming pool is big enough with plenty of room around it and the food and drink was good and reasonably priced. The only draw back was they are quite remote. It was a 15minute walk to the supermarkets, 25mins to the excellent Faliraki beach. We tended to walk down and get a taxi back which was always 5 euros, not expensive in our opinion. But due to the friendliness of the studios spent most days lying around the pool.

The town has great restaurants and bars and was quieter than we expected which was not a bad thing. The locals were very friendly and I certainly hope to go back again. However be prepared for Rhodes airport. It was the one thing we could complain about on this holiday. It is tiny, very hot and was extremely overcrowded, with people lying everywhere as there were no chairs or suitable lounges. Queues for everything and quite expensive. Be prepared for it!! We highly recommend this resort and accommodation.
" The accommodation itself was OK, but... "

The accommodation itself was OK, but we were not given anything to clean the plates with and the shower room flooded every time we used it.

The bar on site was OK, and the pool was nice with enough deck chairs for everyone.

The downside of this accommodation is that it is on a big hill, so in the boiling heat this is a nightmare. As it is if you come back up after a night out. I recommend you higher a taxi, or for the daytime, a moped which are easily available for 15euro a day. You need a full driving license.

The town itself has been run down over the past few years, with many ex nightclubs now shut, especially places on the outskirts of the town. The centre of Faliraki still has plenty of life.

The beach was nice, but costs over 3 euro for the use of a sunbed, but was very clean and the sea was nice.

Eating out was expensive. Don’t be fooled by clubs offering 2 for 1 on drinks as they charge 5 euro per drink, just the same as paying 2.50 euro per drink elsewhere.

I would go here again, but not to stay in Panorama Studios. We had to be out of the room by 12pm on Saturday, to be picked up by coach at 3am the next morning. We had run out of money at this point, so a real nightmare it was.

Locals are very friendly because they want your money, which is OK because so do shopkeepers here, but are not as friendly :)
" We booked a last minute accommodation... "

We booked a last minute accommodation allocated on arrival and was disappointed when we were told we were staying in Faliraki, my partner and I are just a tad over 21 and had wanted a quieter resort.

The Panorama Studios are on the outskirts of the resort up a very steep hill but with wonderful views over the Rhodes countryside. Accommodation was in one of three blocks, which was modern, clean, and well equipped the two ring stove full size fridge and the usual pots and pans. No air conditioning but we hired a fan for 2 euros a day which was well worth it as the average temperature was 100 degrees in the shade.

The studios had it’s own decent sized pool with sun loungers and umbrellas with a well stocked bar which also served a good selection of food from light snacks, salads, ice cream to full meals. The staff were very friendly and helpful one big draw back was the very loud music which blasted out 18 hours a day but the studio had excellent double glazing so sound at night wasn’t a problem.

Due to the location of the studios the only way to get around was by taxi which cost 5 euros to anywhere in Falaraki, approx 13 euros to Rhodes town and 20 euros to Lindos. The cost of taxis can really bump up the cost of your holiday averaging 20 euros a day!

Rhodes is a beautiful island steeped in history and car hire is highly recommended but again pricey at about 55 euros a day. Falaraki town is quite small but is packed with bars shops and supermarkets for those essentials mostly staffed by friendly and helpful staff who will happily call you a taxi if you ask. Restaurants are plentiful with everything from full English breakfasts to classical Greek delicacies, eating out can be relatively cheap but also quite expensive and watch out for the service charges often sneaked into menus in tiny print, tipping seems to be the norm and we went on a 10% of the bill.

Falaraki ha had a lot of bad press but listening to the locals this seems to be changing and the resort is trying to attract more families though the main Bar & Club Streets are taken over by the young and lively crowd who party from late at night to early in the morning!

The Libra Holidays rep was pretty useless really with very little local knowledge and once we were off the bus on the return journey at the airport disappeared never to be seen again! Security at the airport has been tightened since 9/11 so be prepared for a very long wait at the airport (we spent 2 hours in the baking heat outside waiting to get into the airport)

3 must do’s in Rhodes are Rhodes old town, Lindos for the sugar cube houses and labyrinth of streets and the beautiful Anthony Quinne bay which is perfect for snorkelling.

We really enjoyed our time in Rhodes but I think we’ll leave Falaraki for the slightly younger generation!
