Le Palme Hotel

My husband and I have just returned from a week at Le Palme Hotel, Limone. This hotel has a fantastic location and we were lucky enough to have a lake view room with a balcony. We were not so lucky in that our bathroom did not have a shower but we did not want to complain as the view from the balcony was so glorious. Our one major niggle was the food. great hotel, stayed there in 1997 and went back in 2005. still as great, vittorio the waiter has to get a special mention as he was absolutely wonderful the second time, rooms were small but well decorated. No problem with the ferry point being next door to the hotel. market in riva del garda was good.

Not having holidayed in Italy before we choose this hotel largely on internet recommendations. In recent years we have explored many Greek islands by car and sampled some brilliant food and wine. I waited with great expectations for my holiday at The Le Palme Hotel, Limone after reading all the previous reviews on this site. I can only say what a big disappoint it was. When we entered the reception area is small and dark, the welcome from the hotel manager was cool and not inviting. On a plus side our room was clean and quite big, but we overlooked the back of the hotel so it again was dark with the ornate decoration not helping. Wife and I spent a very relaxed holiday in a beautiful part of Italy. As stated in previous posts it is the staff that makes the hotel special. They worked very hard to make all the guests as comfortable as possible. The food was good and the views from our room were fantastic. Two small quibbles are that the ferry terminal is very very close and you have little chance of sleeping in. (They do however stop fairly early in the evening.) Took a short 4 night break here with my wife and 9 & 11 year old. The hotel has recently been refurbished and the rooms are really nice. Blue and gold with antique furniture and tiled floors. We intended using the hotel as a base b&b and eating out but the hotel food was so nice it was a shame to miss it. The staff are very friendly and helpfull and the chambermaids did a fantastic job of our rooms. The hotel has a private walled pool 2 mins along the beach and you can also use the sister hotels pool 5 mins up the lane.<br... more

Stayed here in Aug 05, is in a perfect location beside the ferry departure point for exploring the rest of the lake. Nice food and friendly helpful staff, doesn't have a pool but can use the one at the Splendid which is a sister hotel, though who needs a pool with the beach only 10 minutes walk away.

We first came across Le Palme almost by accident,lunched there,liked everything we saw and vowed to return the following year for a holiday.This we did ,and have done so now for eight consecutive years which just about says it all! What can we say about The Hotel Le Palme? a delightful hotel right on the lake edge where the steamers and other ferry boats arrives. Don't let this put you off, they don't start too early and do not carry on until late, it is very interesting watching them anyway. Delightful hotel, antique features in the rooms, try to get a room with a view of the lake it is breathtaking.
