The holiday was lovely the apartments were really clean and I met a lovely family from Newcastle-- Hi Neil, Lesley, Kara, Johnathon xxx
The pool was really lovely too.
The only problem was that there was not much entertainment but it was still good all the same.
But what I just need to say about Spiros the barman. he is very nice but---'SINGLE WOMAN BEWARE!!!!' HA HA HA

Acharavi is a quiet resort with an abundance of good quality restaurants and tavernas all within walking distance of our chosen apartments the Matoula. The cost of the meals are reasonable e.g. family of three two courses and drinks averaged around £25 per time. Favourite restaurants of ours were the Pump House and the Acharavi Park both in the town centre, the Pump House has the best tasting garlic bread ever. The resort has an abundance of small shops and supermarkets for those holiday souvenirs or the essential daily shopping needs if you are self catering. Mosquitoes were out in there thousands when we were there, so my advice to anyone going would be to take an antihistamine for the bites and a good insect repellent. The resort it self is central and from there you can as we did take trips into Roda and Sidari, particularly if you are looking for entertainment such as shows or discos. The beach in Acharavi is white and very clean, the sea is the most beautiful shades of green to blue and shallow enough to swim in or paddle if you have young children. Watersports are available at very reasonable prices, the guys who run the watersports are friendly and helpful, particularly if like me you are a wee bit nervous of the open sea.
The Matoula apartments are spotlessly clean with maid service everyday except a Sunday, the apartments provide guests with a safe deposit box, which is free. Only drawbacks are that reception is only open for a few hours in the morning and a few hours in the evening so you have to be organised if you require valuables or cash from the safety deposit box. another drawback was that reception is closed all day on a Sunday, which means carrying two days cash on your person.
Staff at the Matoula were mostly friendly however appeared to take offence when a complaint was made about the bed my daughter was given to sleep on it was a metal camp bed with a 1' mattress which was unsuitable for a 15 year old to use. We never did get any resolution for the bed and sadly, this was the one thing, which spoiled our time in the resort. The pool area and pool are kept spotlessly clean, there are sufficient loungers for guests to rest on both at the poolside and on a grassy area just to the left of the pool. There is a sun terrace next to the pool where you can soak up the sun without being splashed. If you want a bit more comfort, you can hire a cushion for the sun lounger at a cost of 3 euros per day. The apartments are perfect if you have children and want a reasonably quiet time but need the kids amused at the same time, as away from the pool area is a swing park and in the pool bar itself is a pool table which young and old enjoyed.
Spiros the bar manager come entertainments manager was a lively friendly chap who encouraged his guests to have fun joining in when ever possible, his favourite saying was Yamas a real credit to the apartments. Food is available from the pool bar from 9.30am to 9.30pm every day, prices here are good and if you wish you could pay for a full days meals for the family in advance at a cost of 13 euros per per person. Taxis were available from the town centre approximately 5 minutes from the apartments, most speak English and are happy to agree a price before taking you on your journey.
The Hydropolis water park is worth a visit this is situated to the South of the resort, tickets can be purchased in the local travel agents and are cheaper than purchasing at the gate or from the holiday reps. The larger Aquapark is approximately 45 minutes away and again it is cheaper to buy the tickets from the local agent.
All in all a great resort particularly for families, it may not suit young singles out for a wild time.
