Aqua Hotel Montagut

Just returned from staying here and have had a fantastic time. We went with my husband, three children aged 10, 13 and 4 and my parents whom are retired. The rooms were very modern, spacious and clean. Our family room had 3 balconies, a seperate room with a good sized double and single and a bed sofa in the lounge area. Flat screen t.v and a fridge which you could hire. The bathroom had a hairdryer and lots of complimentary shampoo, bath gel etc. We had maid service everyday, lovely white bath sheets and hand towels whenever we needed. The food was also good and varied. Toni organised activites throughout the days such as table tennis, footy ect. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. Not many English staying here but it was no problem for us. Everyone got on well. This hotel was the best we have
stayed in whilst been in Spain and my parents feel the same. The only downside for us was the beach but we knew before we went that the sharp incline into the sea meant it was not suitable, in our opinion, for children. My 4 year old daughter loves water but daren't go in for fear she couldn't get out.

Stayed at this hotel for 11 nights. Very clean and well cared for, the food was great something for everyone great choice. The staff were great, from the reception cleaners to restaurant and bar staff, friendly and helpful. The general standard of the hotel was great, the junior suite that I stayed in was wonderful. Good access to Barcelona and all surrounding areas. I have booked the Montagut for this years holiday.

The Hotel was spotless, well located and the rooms were excellent. Very Spacious a comfortable.
Buffet was good but gets a bit boring by the end of the week. The only downside of our stay was that the Catalonian government had booked the hotel for local residents who were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary so for the whole week the hotel was filled with hundreds of old Spanish people who at breakfast and dinner were like vouchers and didn't seem to bother that they pushed in front of my 6 year old to get to the food.
Would have preferred to have been accommodated at one of the other hotels purely because 2 nights out of the week the restaurant was being used for the Gala dinner and we had to eat somewhere else, we could not enjoy any of the hotel facilities as there were always at least 150 old Spanish people hanging about.
The one day we decided to sit at the hotel pool I asked reception to put the fountain on in the kid’s pool for my daughter however I was told it was only put on at night for decoration, I had not seen it on all week and every other hotel had theirs on all day every day.
Although we had a lovely holiday I think we were just unlucky with the time we chose to go.
Would return but would certainly check with hotel first if any events are taking place!!

Absolutely loved it! The hotel was spotless, staff very polite and always willing to help, room was spacious and really nice considering there were 2 adults and 2 teenage children sharing.
Cleaners around most of the day, food was typical buffet food but very tasty something for everyone (hot food, salads, meats, cheeses, cakes, fruit, ice cream etc), swimming pool small but good, plenty of sun beds, no having to get up at 6am in the morning to put your towel on a bed!
Only downfall was the entertainment but this didn't bother us because we were out and about in Santa Susanna and Malgrat.
Local train easy and cheap can visit a few different resorts via this method including Barcelona which cost us 26 Euros return (Approx £18) for four of us.
Resort still very Spanish (which we prefer) so beware learn a few words!
Overall I do not have a bad word to say and I would go back there tomorrow if I could afford it!

Went with my grand daughter aged 7 for a week at end of July. Hotel was very good - staff were very helpful and friendly and the rooms were lovely with air-conditioning.
Plenty of choice for food. Entertainment was over by midnight - so would suit families with younger children. Pools were lovely and you could always get a sun bed. Service at the hotel was excellent.
Take the train to Blanes for a change - book the bus with your railway ticket as the beach is a fair way away from the train station.
Beaches were good but the sand is very coarse.

Great hotel, very friendly staff. The food was extremely good - plenty of choice with a good mix of English and continental options.
The hotel was very accommodating for guests in wheelchairs with ramps to all areas and large rooms designed for people with disabilities.
Hotel pool was very clean and had a lifeguard on duty most of the time. Short walk to beach via underpass but easy to do.

This hotel is definitely not a 4 star complex!. It catered for its Spanish guests but not too much for the English.
The evening entertainment was rubbish one night (Certainly not for kids) Considering this hotel markets itself as family friendly we had no facilities to make up our babies bottles or heat them in our room we had to privately hire a kettle.
Not all bad though the food was nice (a good selection) I would recommend visiting the two other aqua hotels in the resort as they are fantastic!
