Hilton Garden Inn Times Square Hotel

My husband and I went to see Billy Joel at MSG last night and stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn.We got a fantastic rate($125.00)with our AAA discount.I was so pleased with everything about this hotel(location,staff,huge rooms for New York).Our room was spotless,the bed was a TRUE king,some hotels say their beds are kings but feel more like queens.I only hesitated writing this review because now everyone will know about this gem!Also 8th Ave has alot to offer without the huge crowds in Times Square.Book early to get the best deals.

Anyway, to the hotel review: thought the hotel was great - expected hotel rooms for our price range to be very small but the room was spacious and clean (requested a move after our first night as we were near the elevators which were quite noisy and they moved us to a room a few floors up and away from the elevators - we had to wait a while for a room to become free as hotel very busy but that was fine). Just returned from NYC and loved our stay at the Hilton Garden Inn. Rooms were very clean, nicely decorated, loved the refrigerator, microwave and coffee in the room. Subways were close, as were many restaurants, including the Olympic Diner right across the street (great place for breakfast). This hotel is within walking distance to theatres, restaurants, shopping -- great location. Staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Good business center too. I would stay there again and recommend it highly!

I was prepared to writing a wholly positive review of the hotel. I got a great rate on the Hilton web site. (I grew up outside of NYC and have stayed in Manhattan many times. I defy others to find a hotel of anything near this quality in NYC.) When I checked in I asked for a quiet room, not near the elevator and ice machine, and I was given a great room at the end of the hall. We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn the weekend of the blizzard. Had planned to stay 2 nights, but spent 3 due to flight being cancelled. The location is excellent as the hotel is right off of Times Square. We were able to walk or take the subway to everything we wanted to see. The hotel itself was just 'ok'. There was nothing special about it and had no special amenities. The lobby is small and the "Pantry" store very expensive. I have just returned from NYC and the Westminster Dog Show. We had a group from all over the US (VA,TX,OH,NJ, DC) and all of us enjoyed staying at the HIlton Garden Inn for 5 nights. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are a nice size for NY and have a microwave, fridge and coffee pot. Adjacent to the hotel so you don't have to go outside is Pigalle's, a French bistro. This hotel was excellent. I have stayed in several hotels in New York during different times. This is by far the best. I think this hotel's rating is underrated. The beds are beyoned AWESOME and the employees at the hotel are extremely helpful. Got a great rate ($160US/AAA) for this property. Reserved a "1 queen" room. Quick check-in, then led to a "2 queen". Called the desk, and immediately moved to a "King", which was fine. Nice room. Good location. Friendly staff. Good security. Windows that open. Subway across the street. Only a few drawbacks. No valet parking. The garage is right next door, so no big deal. My wife an I stayed here for a weekend getaway and could not have been more pleased. Felt like a small intimate hotel. Location was excellent, away from the crowds but only a block or so away from everything in Times Square. Parking garage is right next door and the subway is 1 block over. I had no idea what to expect as I had booked everything on line and chose this hotel purely on location. On arrival check in was totally straightforward and we were settled within 15 minutes. I noticed that the hot water tap was broken, phoned the desk - no sooner had I put the phone down than the repair man arrived and fixed the problem.
