Econo Lodge Times Square Hotel

I sometimes rely very heavily on internet reviews, if you do as well…read on. We stayed at the Econo Lodge the 3rd week of July and have nothing but good things to say about the hotel. The price was very reasonable. I would almost call it cheap. The room was incredibly small….but VERY clean! I was impressed because I am very picky about cleanliness!! The bed was very comfortable. I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. I spent hours searching for a decent hotel at a decent rate. This fit both of my needs. The location was great, and the service was excellent. My room was spotless all 4 days I spent there. Also the contential breakfast was very nice. I enjoyed my view of the activities of the area. The hotel also gives discounts to area restuarants. I really enjoyed my stay.

I read really good reviews of this hotel, so I was pretty confident of my choice when visiting NYC. The location is good. The breakfast is convenient, free, and had a great selection. . I should state that even by NYC standards the room was incredibly small. The small window air conditioner made funny noises and kept us up all night, and unfortunately the room never cooled enough. Just returned from a 4-night stay at the Econo Lodge. Pros: - Location. We were within 3 blocks of 3 subway lines and a block from Times Square, 5 blocks from the Port Authority. - Price. For Midtown Manhattan near Times Square, the price was very good. - Free breakfast. This was a nice touch that was very much appreciated. At first, staying at an Econo Lodge did not appeal to me at all. After reading some reviews on this site and looking at the location I decided to give the hotel a shot as the PRICE ($180 all in) and location could not be beat. The only picture of the hotel I could find was a picture of the exterior, which made me hesitant to book, as it looks like a corner store rather then a hotel. We stayed one night in this charming, exceptionally clean hotel. Everything you've read about the small rooms is true. However there was plenty of room given the short time we were in the hotel. We had four people in our party including our children aged 16 and 19. We were on the fifth floor overlooking 8th avenue and yes it can be a bit loud, but we were so exhausted we slept fine. This might be a bargain at $100/night, but for $206 you can do much better. The rooms are miniscule and very uncomfortable for 2 persons. The staff were very friendly but not very competent or efficient. They didn't seem very good at anything they did. The elevator was excrucitatingly slow. All the rooms face the street and are very noisy. There are no services beyond the most basic: get your own cab, pay extra to check luggage. The location is great, but that's the only positive.

We just spend 5 nights at this hotel and we're very pleased with it. As the other reviewers mentioned, the rooms were small but clean. Hotel staff is very friendly and efficient. Location is great. We paid an avarage rate of $ 165 plus tax (fri -wed) I've got just two more things to add to what has already been said about this hotel: 1. We stayed at the Econo Lodge Times Square for one night over the Memorial Day Weekend. It was quite a bargain at $206 considering all of the other hotels were high priced for the weekend. We had read the reviews prior to going and knew that there was no luggage storage so we timed our arrival perfectly and got there shortly after check in. at 3:30p.m after ditching the car in a garage nearby. My young adult daughter and I went to NYC for a few days to see some TV shows. We had never been to NYC before and had no idea where to stay. I found this hotel on trip advisor and read the reviews. All the other reviews express my opinions exactly. You have to love this hotel.
