My partner and I booked a snowboard week at Mayerhofen and stayed at the Neuhaus. We took our 14 month old little girl and she was booked into the Creche. Unfortunately 4 days into our holiday she developed chicken pox after seeing the doctor he said she would be able to fly home on the saturday so we ended up staying another week.
The hotel staff couldn't do enough for us. We had room service for our meals as she was highly contagious and we didn't want to scare the other guest with her extra spotty face. They brought hot water to the room for her bottles. We were very impressed with the food, the staff, our room which was a junior suite and the creche was lovely. The creche lent us toys for her to play with aswell over the extra week. We're just disappointed with the holiday not turning out as we expected. But things were made up by the standard of the hotel. The only downside was we didn't manage to find an english channel on the tv until the last day when Annabelle was playing with the remote and found BBC Prime which had Cbeebies on - what a life saver that would have been for her poorly days!!
We would would have no hesitation to go back to this hotel and resort.

we have just returned from a weeks holiday in mayerhofen staying at the neuhaus hotel. this hotel is graded 4**** and certainly earned it. we stayed in a junior suit in the main hotel. the room was very spacious, with a large living area, bath room with shower and bath, separate toilet and separate large bedroom with v. large and comfortable bed, lots of storage and door out onto the massive balcony. there was also a door to the balcony fromm the living area. we had a beautiful view from our 3rd floor bacony over a small field and onto the surronding mountains and the penken gondalers. the service in the resturant and bar and by the household staff was excellent and very friendly. the food was also excellent and there was plenty of it. the skiing was top class, so many different slopes to try. i am only a beginner but by the end of 5 days ski school with a friendly and enthusiastic ski instructor i felt very confident tackling even the more difficult blue runs and i"m nearly 50! my only two gripes would be the live musik in the hotel bar every night(no power or enthusiasm to the songs) and the qs at the penkenbahn in the morning and coming back in the evening. this can be avoided by getting to the penken before 8.30 in the morning and leaving the mountain before 3.30pm. we went next door to the neuer post on two evenings and found the musik great over there, their band was realy talented and managed to get a good crowd dancing and singing along(probably more suitable for the over 40s). overall, however, mayrhofen is a really beautiful, clean small town with lots to see and do (my husband doesnt ski and was never bored )and i would highly recommend the resort and especialy the hotel neuhaus to anyone looking for a highclass ski holiday, thankyou hotel neuhaus!

We chose this Hotel for its selection...

We chose this Hotel for its selection of rooms, and good reviews for food and service. I can't complain about the food or the service. Both were fantastic!! Our waiter was wonderful and so attentive, but not too much! He remembered that I liked tea in the morning, and that my husband liked coffee. He made the kids laugh, and seemed genuinely happy when we arrived for breakfast or dinner. He got a great tip at the end of the week!
My mum and brother had single rooms (my brother was in another building to us, as were some friends).
The downside of this Hotel is that we were given rooms in the seperate building the Landhaus. Which was across the road (a quiet street really). So we could never use the baby monitors. One of us always had to go back to the room. And there lies the next problem. the room was the smallest room I think I've ever stayed in! And we had a 4 year old on a fold out sofa and the baby in a cot. The pram was folded up and kept on the balcony (which overlooked the farm). We were like sardines - NEVER again. It was clean however, and the beds made every day.
Also, the farmer was shovelling poo from 7am till 6pm most days in his digger, which meant we couldn;t have the balcony door open because the smell was horrendous! And he also fed the animals at that time too, well, I say fed them, it sounded like he was butchering them....
Finally, the main Gondola (Ahorn I think) was a good 10-15 minute walk, up hill through the town. NOT good with children and ski's. And by the time you get to the Gondola, the queue is MASSIVE and you might be there for over an hour.
Overall, we won't be returning to the Neuhaus or Mayrhofen. But I must add that our friends booked direct with the Neuhaus and had a fabulous room in the main Hotel (the honeymoon suite) and paid loads for it, but they loved it! They don't have kids....

This is a big hotel with lots of...

This is a big hotel with lots of facilities which justifies its 3/4 star rating. The staff were excellent and the food was good. The location is perfect for getting around Mayrhofen and the adjacent ski areas. It's a 10 min walk to the 'centre' of town (and the main Penken ski lift). But even better, it's a 50m walk to the main bus and train stop from where it's a 20min ride to the glacier or Kaltenbach ski areas.
The Hotel is split. Despite paying a supplement to Crystal to ensure that we stayed in "The main Hotel" we actually stayed in what the hotel refer to as "Chalet Joseph". Main hotel is linked to "Chalet Joseph"by an underground walkway. It is quite a walk. However Crystal never divulged this on booking. They still class this as the main hotel and will charge you a supplement stating that this is to ensure that you will stay in the main hotel! Chalet Joseph is never mentioned and never appears on any bill. Quite misleading and when on arrival you find hotel is fully booked not much you can do about it. My party of17 paid almost £800 in these supplements- so beware.

A fantastic hotel set in brilliant scenery. The staff are all extremely friendly, helpful and polite. The selection of food is great and to relax in the huge garden by the pool with the mountains in front of me is just amazing.
The Neuhaus also provides Christine, a walking guide who'll take you on hikes Mon-Fri for no extra cost. These hikes normally cater for less experienced hikers but some can be a little challenging. Mayrhofen itself is a great resort. Not too touristy, lots of sun and not too expensive. Highly recommended.
