We booked a last minute deal and after reading the opinions of the previous guest were not expecting much. However, we decided to go ahead because having being on previous chalet holidays realise that factors such as the cooking/cleaning which the previous reviewer found unsatisfactory are largely determined by the hosts for that particular season.
We were very luck as the two chalet girls (Elizabeth and Bernadette) were absolutely fanastic as hosts. The chalet and rooms were all spotless and the quality of the food throughout the week was excellent. My fiancee is vegetarian and they cooked her a seperate dish every night without any problems. Ski hosting with the girls was also good and they went out of their way to be accommodating with all the guests.
The chalet itself is quite modern and it only takes a few minutes to access the piste (via a public elevator opposite the chalet which takes you right down into the centre of La Tania besides the piste). My only gripe about the chalet was that the room we had (top floor room 6) was particularly small and although okay for kids was a bit of a struggle for two adults. It had a sink (but annoyingly no mirror) and shared a bathroom/WC with another room. However, it was the only room left when we booked so we were aware of this and for the price we paid I can't really complain. However, if you plan on spending any time in your room or like your space make sure you avoid rooms 5 & 6.
We chose La Tania itself as we'd stopped by there for lunch one day on a previous ski holiday to the 3 Valleys and liked the feel of the place. It's more a family orientated resort so don't expect too much in terms of major apres-ski. We didn't mind this so because there was only the two of us and we were there for the skiing so 3 or 4 bars was enough, but suggest if you're wanting to party well into the night Meribel/Courchavel may be more what you're looking for. The Ski Lodge is the main bar (just off the piste) which is the centre of apres ski and nightlife (open until the early hours) but if you want a more chilled out atmosphere try the La Taiga bar which weeunfortunately only discovered on our last night but would defs recommend.
All in all great holiday thanks to the Chalet Hosts and great snow conditions.

A very disappointing experience. Chalet was not clean and space was extremely limited. Arrived and no towels or bedding was available - some of us had to do without on the first night! Immediately evident on arrival that chalet had not been cleaned and was not ready to receive guests.
Food was terrible. They could not provide us with a menu for the week, and could not cater for the vegetarian, the celiac and the children in our party - though all in booking details. Not even enough wine glasses for dinner at night! One evening we ended up helping the chalet staff to cook as he did not know what he was doing.
Chalet staff didn't show up one morning to provide breakfast - had to fend for selves - despite having paid for a catered chalet - to discover the state of fridge (food uncovered & meats dripping onto other foods).
Mice were found in cupboards too.
Kitchen sink became blocked and remained like that for two days - staff left it with dirty dishes in it for this period.
Complained on many occasions to chalet staff and resort manager - eventually resulting in the area manager paying us a visit, he was very reluctant to anything about the situation. - He thought the chalet and everything was fine! On return have complained but have got nowhere, except the offer of a few pounds of our next holiday with Ski Activity!
Would not recommend Ski Activity.
Chalet Mouflon is now run by a new company http://www.snowretreat.co.uk/ and has a new name Chalet Bonne Etoile. I run this company and live year round in La Tania. When we were considering operating this chalet we read all the online reviews. We then spent a summer working on the chalet before our first winter season (2009 /2010). We checked and fixed all maintenance problems (including those highlighted in the reviews) and added new fixings and furnishings including sofas (so everyone can have a comfy seat), extra lighting, curtains, bed linen and crockery. We provide low cost chalet holidays, with friendly service and great home cooked family food (we will happily cater for dietary requirements). I am on hand in the chalet to make sure every guest has the holiday that they have dreamed about. Chalet Bonne Etoile is directly linked to Chalet Petit Coeur, giving a total of 26 beds, which makes it perfect for large groups.

We had a great time in the Chardon chalet. Mouflon and Chardon are part of one chalet split into two parts with interconnected kitchens. The location is good - a short probably 50m walk to a lift which takes you down almost directly onto the piste and the town. The chalet is pretty simple (and could probably do with some new sofas) but was very clean and the food and wine was very good (thanks Tom & Roxy!). Chardon has three lager rooms with en suites on the 1st floor with 3 smaller rooms (with restricted headroom) on the 2nd floor. It has a couple of small balconys but the windows in the chalet are small and there is a bit of a lack of 'stunning mountain views'. Overall a great base for those looking for a good value for money catered chalet.
