More Traveller Reviews of Leda Beach Hotel
good location
from tessWales
Leda beach hotel is placed in an exellent location with a short walk to everything, the rooms are basic but very clean. The food to be honest is not very good, not enough choice i would advise to go b+b,breackfast is typical turkish which is ok but orange juice is charged at 3 lire per glass. My main problem with this hotel is we had night flights and did'nt need to leave the hotel until midnight and so requested a room extension or to book another room for another day but were told we could only stay in our room until 4 with a charge of £15 for 4 hours so we checked out and found another hotel can garden until midnight for the same amount.
Beautifull setting and bungalows
from natalieNorthWales
We arrived Leda beach at 1am 25 june, Leda beach had provided us with return transfer of only £60 £30 each way for 4 of us. The man in the reception at that time of the night wasn't a pleasant man, but I must point out that he was the only one, all the other staff were great, no hassle and always pleasant, especially Fatima the cleaner and the handyman!!!, Ramazan and his wife made us very welcom and we are definately going back next year.. We had booked two bungalows and was located with 3 other in the garden and it was fantastic, very clean, rather on the small side, but you don't spend 24hrs in them anyway!!! There were only 2 english couples staying there, others were danish, german etc, but we made very good friends there. Pool was rather small but ideal for us, wasn't crowded, no towels thrown on them early morning, always a place near the pool, it wasnt crowded at all. Leda beach also had their own private beach, this could become crowded, but no problem, the sea was beautiful and clean. The Theatre Restaurant which is part of the Leda beach is highly recommended and one of the best in Side, it over looked the Amphitheatre and the ruins. The walk into the small town is less than 5mins, you could also walk along the sea front back to Leda beach. This is a small complex but ideal, worth more than 2 stars and our standars are high!! will definately be going back there next year.
Absolutely Stunning!! Probably best holiday ever had...

Arriving -- After getting our early hours transfer, the first impressions of the hotel from the front werent great, bearing in mind it was dark and we were narky lol but reception is manned 24/7 and the guy was sooo helpful & took us straight to our room whilst quickly giving us the low down on brekkie, where the pool was etc. Aircon does cost extra at around £25-£30 per week but it is so hot there you wont be able to sleep without it. Room -- Our room (221 i think) wasnt overly big but totally lovely and very very clean. We had a TV with English channels, small fridge and a very good shower which i wasnt expecting! The cleaners are exceptional and changed our towels every single day aswell as sheets etc. No bugs to be seen at all either which i wasnt expecting as the grounds are kept really pretty with flowers etc so u would expect it. Eating Out -- Leda Beach is right by the sea, just a small walk through the hotel takes you out to the main little pathway. There are a few shops and then 2 restaurants right infront of you which directly fall on the sea. Stunning views when your eating dinner and to be honest i have never had the pleasure of eating a meal whilst practically being on the beach :) Leda Beach Restaurant is very good but personally we found next door's restaurant to be far better (the name escapes me but these are the only 2 restaurants by eachother here so u cant miss it). We just found the atmosphere created by the guys running it was just great and they sometimes throw lots of free food in (especially if your English as they love us, lol!) Shopping -- Side is not a pushy place with regards to shopping as its a quieter area and they are more respectful. However, you will notice the difference when you do the 10minute walk into the main market area. Its still not overly bad though. A tip to anyone who is after something specific...if you go into a shop and are trying to barter them down, we found the easiest way was to have the amount u wanted to spend in your wallet (take other money out) and show them that this is literally the only amount of money u have and they can either take it or leave it. They will always take it, even if they lose out a bit! Money -- We took Lira and English Pounds as we had heard so many different things about currency. I would advise taking Lira and Euro though as majority of pricing is in Euro and will probably work out cheaper rather than converting to Lira which works out dearer. All in all this is a stunning place. I honestly cannot recommend it highly enough. Side and Leda Beach Hotel are hidden gems in my opinion and the fact that there arent many English tourists around this part is a blessing, we found being in the minority was great as they love the English so much. Any questions, feel free to mail me :)
Loved Leda Beach
from Wursh
Arrived at Leda Beach and we were pleasantly surprised! The location is perfect, on the beach but away from the massive hotels and about 3 minute walk into Side (see-day) town. The staff are extremely friendly and go out of their way to make your stay pleasant. Nothing is a problem and this makes the hotel special. There are 2 restaurants run by Leda, one on the beach and one in the hotel. The one in the hotel is fantastic, with excellent service, food and a great view of the ruins. This in my opinion is the more superior of the two. The beach restaurant is also great, but recommend sticking to the menu, as if you go off this, check how much it costs before committing. The nice thing about this restaurant is you are pretty much on the beach and promenade. The restaurants take both Euros and YTL (Turkish Lira). The rooms are great, although initially the room we were in wasn’t that good and fairly noisy (being right next to the bar in the hotel next door). When asking for another room and explaining, the staff went out of their way to move us into a more suitable room, which we loved and made our stay even that much better, especially as it was no hassle. We ventured out a fair bit and suggest also trying other places, as this adds to the experience. Erol’s in town is also fantastic for food and all the locals also get their take away’s from him (even some of the food shops). Just ask for him by name and make a moustache twirling movement with your fingers. If they don’t know who you mean, they are probably also visitors. Most shop owners know him. The lighthouse is also quite nice if you enjoy a bit of clubbing in the evening. Oh yes, Leda also has it’s own beach section, which is great with its own chairs. The water is amazing and you don’t get bugged once you’re on the beach. However, expect to be touted into every restaurant as you walk along the promonade, but remember. It’s your choice where you want to go and we did find the hotel restaurant was a good bet when we didn't feel like going walkabout and hassled. Just a word of warning to those not carrying a British passport, ensure you take dollars or euros, as you can only pay pounds for your visa at immigration if you hold a British passport. This is one place I would definatly return to and have already told loads of friends who are going out that way.
Friendly, relaxing and peaceful

We are two 19 year old girls and have just returned from a week in Side where we enjoyed many fun times. Like many other people, we were initially placed in 'the dungeon' which is fairly small and crampt and placed in a noisy walkway. However we asked to be moved and the room they provided us with was more than acceptable. Very clean with ample space and a lovely balcony from which one could not only catch the sun but also watch the world pass by. We spent a lot of our time by the pool which is very clean and the staff there look after you well. The hotel's 'private beach' really isn't much to rave about but if you wander through the ruins opposite the Theatre restaurant, you will find a lovely big sandy beach located less than a mile away, which has splendid views. There are plenty of ruins close by and the museum is located a stones throw away. The walk into Side along the seafront is pleasant although be prepared to get hassled by the locals who try and make you eat their restaurants. The town of Side has plenty to offer in terms of counterfit goods but there is a delish icecream counter located at the bottom of the main street on the harbour! Definately worth a try! The temple of Apollo is a sight not to be missed, particularly at sunset. Other than historical sites and shops there is little else do in Side itself. However there are various day trips which can be booked through the hotel including rafting and a boat trip to Manavgat which we enjoyed, because it meant we got to visit the waterfalls which are very pretty and the large market. Overall we had a very enjoyable holiday and are considering going back later this year. The staff were very friendly and helpful in all matters of things, including where to find a dentist! The cleaner's were lovely and very efficient. We would definately recommend this hotel to families, couples and young people: we certainly had a very peaceful and fun holiday!
Great Holiday At Leda Beach Hotel
from stella2246
Having stayed at this hotel for 1 week in May 2008 (just got back)we enjoyed our stay , after a bad start on being given a tiny room near the sun roof we spoke with the manager and were moved to room 207 very nice on ground level with our own little garden full of sweet william and very relaxing , sitting on our terrace having tea and listening to the birds , I would go back but we found Side catered for Germans more than Brits the staff were friendly though with us and we ate at the theater restaraunt twice food nothing to rave about but the view of the ruins opposite was great and just 2 minutes across the old Roman road ,a visit to the Museum is a must just 4 minutes down from the hotel small admittance fee but worth it ,.If you take a stroll along the proomanade you come to The Turkish Kitchen Restaraunt there you will meet Canadian Mary she is lovely very chatty to all the diners and the view of the ocean is great you can even go down to a platform on the rocks to eat if you can manage the steps , we found the walk in town a bit harrowing with everyone trying to get you into their shop so we took the Dolmus and went to KumKoy a nice place full of shops and bars where you are free to browse at your lesiure without the hasstle .So if you are going to Side have fun stay at the pool as the beach is so tiny and not to clean even though the beds are free , we never spent even a day there to much litter and empty beer bottles for me , that is my review have a great time our next trip to Turkey is September to Marmaris where Brits are more catered for , one last word Euros are the norm in Side and we found it hard to find anyone to change Sterling only at the banks shops do not want it they like the Euro ,.
Excellent place to stay

Stayed at the Leda Beach in June 2006. Had a fantastic 14 days. Location was excellent with a small private beach. Swimming with the turtles was an experience to be remembered. Hotel staff were so friendly and made our stay more memorable. Accommodation was good. We stayed in the two storey block and found it peaceful and quiet. The whole complex was peaceful and relaxing. The town itself was 5 - 10 minutes stroll where there was everything you would want. So much to see and do and some fantastic ruins. The temple of Apollo set on the beach is a fabulous site when lit up at night. Cheap excursions were also available from the small stalls along the beach front near the hotel. We did a fantastic day out to Antalya with a guided tour of the old town, which cost us about £5 each. Another one was the boat trip along the river, including lunch. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anybody wanting value for money and a peaceful, relaxing holiday. We loved it so much, we've just booked again for September. Can't wait to return.
Best in Side
from micke60
Wonderful place! Nothing can beat the location and the staff. Theater Restaurant by the main street had the best food we have ever tried in Side! Leda Marina Restaurant, on the beach, also held VERY high standards! Did not meet one single hotel guest who was not satisfied. Can recommend this hotel to anybody. Rooms a little bit small, the only negative thing.
Side Great -Hotel Basic
from McINNES
The location of the hotel is great just outside the town of Side with in 5 minutes walking disatance. The hotel has its own private beach the water when windy was not all that clean. Although with in a 15 minutes walk, through the ruins there is even a better beach with excellent bathing and a good taverna "Dolfhin". The hotel accomodation is basic try and request a Chalet -well worth the extra as they classify it as superior e.g. air conditioned, hair dryer, fridge and a television. We called it our "Wendy House". The food -Breakfast typical Turkish :bread, boiled egg, cheese, cold meats, tomatoes, olives, yoghurt and beverages. The half board evening meal was poor as was the a la carte restaurant. Always check your bill as it is not always correct. Overall you get what you pay for fortuately we got a last minute deal and got £200 off the holiday . I would recommend the bed and breakfast rate. and then do your own thing.

Brilliantly unique location , a five minute walk to the Museum and town .Situated directly on the beach and overlooking the Ampitheatre. The Leda Beach was acquired by the Neptune hotel adjacent, just over a year ago , it is built over the Roman remains and consists of several blocks of rooms and bungalows set amongst , Roman archways and columns, in gardens of Rose, jasmine Orange , lemon and olive trees. Rooms in the Leda beach have airconditioning , Fridge , hairdryer ,T.V (.BBC news 24, several Turkish/German channels ). Recommend bungalows they are larger and pine wood interior , adequately comfortable. There is a 24 hr reception, swimming pool and 2 restaurants .One on the beach and the other overlooking a maginificent view of the Ampitheatre and breakfast can be taken in either. They both have A la Carte menu, so better to book bed and breakfast . (do not recommend the half board as there is no choice of menu, no fish, and it is monotonusly repetative). All of the Staff here are wonderful, extremely friendly and helpful especially the Talented head chef in the Ampitheatre Restaurant Nasim and the waiters there. As well as the staff on the Reception especially Ramazan and Onur.. they all made our stay an unforgetable one. We chose this hotel for its location and cost , which made it excellent value for money, and tend to go out and about and Tour. If you want a more luxurious property then this is not for you. This hotel has been kept in its natural state of well tended garden surround ..It also has a mulitinational clientele which we appreciated. For pictures please visit (---)

Amazing hotel, lovely chalet, fantastic food. Attentive, helpful and friendly staff. Spotlessly clean. 2 minutes from a private beach (get your towel down early!) Cannot give high enough reviews, brilliant holiday, cannot wait to go back.
