Vega Hotel

Clean hotel in excellent position for the town but please ask for the wine list prices at the beginning of the holiday-very high prices and bottles of water 4 euros each. Would recommend the trip up Mount Baldo-lovely walks on the top and the Crystal organised tour of the lake.

We have just spent a week in the Hotel Vega, and had a wonderful time. The staff were very friendly. The rooms clean, and the views over the lake superb. The location of the hotel on the waterfront is great. There is also a deck at the back of the hotel which you can sunbathe on. Or if you need a little more shade a tranquil garden next door, with a lovely bed of roses.Malcesine is a lovely quaint village, with cobble lined streets. There are loads of shops, so keep lots of room in your suitcase for all your shopping. I would say the only concern about this resort is if you have walking problems, as a few of the streets are rather steep. However I did see one man pushing a wheelchair. So anything is possible if you put your mind to it. I have nothing but praise for this hotel and resort. If you love lakes and mountains then you can't go far wrong with this hotel and resort. I can't wait to return!!!

Stayed a week in the Hotel Vega, nothing but praise for this hotel and its staff. Good location on the Lake front, excellent food and handy for town. But the bottled water offered with the evening meal is expensive (4 euros a bottle!). Malcesine is a lovely place to stay and we can recommend the pasta at the Bar Restaurant at 10 Vicolla Casella.

We stayed at Hotel Vega for 4 nights in Aug 2005.Impeccably clean with a top location overlooking Lake Garda. Food was good to excellent with the benefit of a 6 course feast on the Monday of our stay all in the price! Keep an eye on the wine bill as cash only at this hotel and the wine came to 90 Euros for 4 meals!! On leaving several guests were hotfooting it to the cash dispenser near the ferry terminal. Malcesine is a gem and well worthy of a repeat visit.

This hotel is spotless, great location right on the lake with garden and sundeck to relax in, close to ferry and cable car. Our room was small but well equipped with balcony, shower room/wc, cable TV, phone, and hairdrier. The owner was charming sweet and helpful (his wife polite but rather unfriendly). The food in the restaurant was exemplary. Only drawback was lack of credit card payment facility, otherwise highly recommended/excellent value for money.

Fabulous Hotel,beautiful setting right on lakefront,a short walk into the centre and the ferry.The food was beautiful and the service superb.We had booked a late deal but there were many people staying there who had been before,we could see why!Go enjoy we may see you there!

Nice place to stay. Good location. The lady in the reception is a horrible snob though, she treated us like something the cat dragged in. She made us feel very uncomfortable. That is sad because we liked the hotel and the room and would probably have stayed longer but as it was we decided to leave after two days. Room standard was very good, The hotel is very nice and the location is great

Well I could not beleive our luck what can I say the price was good the views where fantastic the food was great and the location perfect .Easy for walking to centre of town of Malcesine just perfect.

We have just returned from the Hotel Vega, and found it to be a perfect small hotel. The room was large, clean and comfortable, with table and chairs. and the large balcony had a table and two sun loungers, perfect for sitting and watching the activity on the lake beneath us. The furnishings were of good quality, beds very comfortable, plenty of drawer and hanging space, and the food was beautifully cooked and presented. It is in an ideal position, close to the ferry terminal, and all the shops, bars and restaurants. It has its own sun terrace with loungers overlooking the lake, with access to the lake for swimming. You need "jellies" though, as the stones are very hard. Malcesine is a lovely resort, with plenty to do and see, from our visit to the Dolomites - spectacular - to ferry hopping to other resorts, i.e. Limone on the other side of the lake, to the cable car journey up Mt. Baldo, for its lovely views and walks. The combination of a lovely town and super Hotel, together with perfect weather, meant we had a fantastic week's holiday.
