May 2008, Mrs J Mansfield

If you are under 25, like VERY loud music 13 hours a day, no where to escape it!
3* rooms, 4* food, 2* clenliness, have to tip to get a sunbed reserved. Next to a dusty building site Management who do not motivate staff (therefore some are unhelpful)Reception staff who are obviously used to complaints etc. etc. Then you will love Rehana Sharm.
There is a need for some guest feedback at this hotel If the management want to get it right.
If you expect 5* standards and some quiet time to relax on a free sunbed then don't book this hotel.
On day 4 our Wings rep transfered us to a nearby hotel 4* which was fantastic.
This is our 4th holiday in Egypt so I know what I am talking about so be warned!

May 2008, Miss J Mansfield

The first 4 days of our holiday at this hotel was like a holiday from hell!
Definatly not a 5* hotel, more like an Egyption 3* We have been to Egypt 4 times and this is the worst hotel.
The manager was very attentive when we said we were booking out! Where was he the previous 3 days when I asked to see him?
I wish I had read other reviews before booking.
Our Wings Rep was very helpful and transfered us after 4 days and we had a wonderful last 3 days in nearby 4* Hotel
If you like 13 hours of ear splitting music, a fight for a sun bed, dirty resturant floor, next to a building site and I could go on..... Then book Rehana Sharm.

May 2008, Miss C Symon

Room was clean and comfortable. The staff were wonderful and helpful. Choice of food was good, with the added extra of the a-la-carte restaurants. We tried the Italian one twice and could not fault the service or food. Lovely and hot and made a change to be served at your table. Advised to book the day before but we got in one night without booking no problem at all.
We got round the hotel and site with no problem, although there is not much to do outside the complex, there is the beach opposite which looked nice, steep path down to it and steps which was out of bounds for us as other half is in a wheelchair. We turned left out of the hotel and went to the little shopping area where you do get hassel to go in their shops but if you just so no and carry on walking not a problem.
They had an egyptian themed evening on the friday night and the only complaint with that was we had to clear the pool area by 4.30 so they could set it all up, but the time and effort they put into it all was well worth it.
The choice of pools was lovely and were cleaned daily and the filters changed throughout the day. Music was a bit loud in the afternoon, and sometimes the planes seemed a bit low!! (on two occassions I'm sure I could see the pilot!!)
We were there for a week and we had wonderful warm weather and a nice breeze and no complaints.
I can only assume the bad complaints on here are by people that enjoy nothing better than moaning.
All in all I say go along, enjoy yourself, just chill, relax by the pools and enjoy the beer, food and wine.

I have to reiterate what most people...
6 / 10
May 2008, Mr D Lambert

I have to reiterate what most people have said in that this is not a 5 star hotel. Most hotels in Sharm seem to believe that 5 stars are acheived by having grand entrance and pool area's with everything else being secondary - and therefore relatively basic.
I'll start with the good points:
1. Hygiene - Contrary to some reports, hygiene appeared very good. Plastic cups around the pool are not reused, the hotel grounds were always being cleaned & kept. The rooms were cleaned daily to a high standard and the pool was checked & cleaned twice daily.
2. Pool - Couldn't fault the pool area as it's the hotels main feature. Lots of space. Lots of beds & umberalla's. The water may be a little on the cold side but when the temperature is 90+ you're pleased of it.
3. Service - The staff (and Egyptians generally) were very friendly and helpful. A few pound tip seems to go a long way with them and they generally love the English.
There were three things that let this hotel down badly:
1. The food - make no bones about it, the food was very poor. They tried to offer a selection but just seemed to get it so wrong. We stayed 7 nights & ate our evening meal in the hotel just twice. On the second occasion we were enticed by the BBQ evening and while a clear effort was made, it was again poor and we wished we hadn't bothered. We decided to travel into Naarma bay in the evenings where the food was very reasonably priced. The Hard Rock Cafe is supposedly the most expensive place to eat. A two course meal for two with drinks and a decent tip came out at less than £25 sterling and that was our most expensive meal.
2. The location - Nabq bay is very much in the stages of development (a polite way of saying that it is a mass of building sites seperated by a few scattered hotels). There is very little within walking distance at all and Naarma Bay is a 15 minute taxi ride in a very fast cab, along what is essentially a dual carriage way. If you've read that you can walk to Naarma Bay, take it from me that you can not & nor would you want to. You have to haggle with the Taxi drivers but the going rate was 60 egyptian (£6 sterling) and they come along the road quite regularly. If your nerves can take it, they are definitely the best way to get into 'town'.
3. The beach - You have to cross the carriage way and walk around the new hotel which they are building opposite, in order to get to the beach. When you get there you will find the sea and something that resembles a beach wedged in between the building sites. It is not attractive and couple that with the fact that the wind in Nabq Bay makes the sea quite choppy, most people seemed not to bother with it.
The hotel was definitely not the worse in the world, but the food and the location were big factors, compounded by the other. With the location being fixed, the hotel really therfore needs to get the food right. In a few years time, when the building work is complete and there is more around the hotel, Nabq could become a nice resort. However, in the mean time my advise to anyone considering Sharm would be to stay in Naama Bay & pay a bit extra for one of the larger chain resorts - I think that would have have made a nice hoilday into a really good one.

excellent hotel, dont worry about the bad reviews, only issue i had was that that the food was brilliant, but there was something for me to eat every night, dont go expecting british food, they are catering for a lot of people and different nationalities so go with the flow. Italian reataurant is good.
Pools, hotel grounds, reception and rooms are excellent, always being cleaned.
Entertainment is ok, you don't feel pressured to join in.
Staff cannot do enough for you, particularly when they find out you are british.
Really nice place to stay, if you have any probs just tell reception and they will sort it straight away.
i would definately go back.

Apr 2008, Mrs S LOBERTO

We have just returned from the Rehana Sharm Resort,Sharm El Sheikh we went with 2 friends and we all thoroughly enjoyed this holiday for my husband and I it was the first time to Egypt and we would all definatley return. The hotel was clean, good choice of food and drink, very friendly helpful staff most spoke 4-5 languages so no problem in communication!! The Egyptians couldn't do enough for people they have a very good sense of humour and are always smiling. The grounds were continuously being maintained and cleaned.
Good entertainment by the Freak Animation team who of course try to get guests involved that was fun! but it's not compulsory.
We organised two trips via the hotel rep which turned out very successful very interesting country the snorkelling and coral reef is out of this world - wow- spectacular.
We organised a taxi via the hotel to see Naama Bay in the evening that turned out perfect a very interesting place to see so what can I say try it for yourself we enjoyed it.

Very Nice Hotel. I really cannot see...
9 / 10
Apr 2008, Mr P CASSETTARI

Very Nice Hotel.
I really cannot see why this hotel has received such bad reviews, I have just returned from a two week stay AI. I went in a group of 10 in 3 well travelled families of of mixed ages.
The hotel itself is clean, rooms large and well kept, showers hot and fast. Not 5 * maybe but certainly 4.
The food was better than good and of good variety.
Breakfast:Plenty of cold meats, salad, cereal, fruits etc excellent bread, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, fried eggs and omlettes of your choice every day.
Lunch:Full selection of hot and cold meats, rice, pasta etc.Snack bar provided Hot Dogs, good burgers, pizza and chips for those of only an american taste.
Pancakes were cooked later in the afternoon
Dinner:Very varied assortment of Fish, beef, chicken and other meat, rice, fresh pasta cooked every day as you wait, good soups, fried chicken and plenty more.Make sure you look outside the restaurant for the little extras.
BBQ evenings twice a week were very good.
Separate Italian and Lebanese reataurants that you could book a day in advance as a change. The Italian was very good, lebanese not great.
Drink:All beers, wine, soft drinks and spirits on AI.All of acceptable quality. Not British but then your not in Britain.
Lack of bars of evening although one was open 24/7 for those who really wanted to drink.
We tended to stay outside at the pool bar but there is a lack of seating there.
Entertainment every evening though low key as is the case everywhere in Egypt.
Good activities during the day around the excellent 8 swimming pools. The gardens are kept immaculate and the pools cleaned regularly.
The main Rehana pool has a swim up bar, beds in the water and a jacuzzi and a waterfall.
The next one was a large heated pool with two slides, then another one just as big with a lazy river. There is a bar in the middle of this one that you can still use free from the Rehana. The pools continue onto the Prima Hotel where inside you would have to pay for drinks and food (Totally unnecessary), in fact I saw several prima guests paying at our snack bar.
Plenty of chairs, glasses were washed in a dishwasher behind the bar, then rinsed in cold water to cool them down.
The beach is very dissappointing if you want to just sunbathe on it.The tunnel is built but not being used as it comes out at the new hotel they are building which opens in August (they said) this means you have to walk through the prima and across the road to the beach (about 10 min). There is a jetty for snorkelling but you have to go back on yourself a bit to get to it(Confusing at first), the rehana jetty is the second one on your left as you bet to the beach, p[lease dont walk across the coral to get to the drop off like the Ukrainians, use the Jetty! The reef at the end of it makes the walk worthwhile.A big drop off with an amazing array of fish.I did several dives and our reef was as good as most of them.If your not a decent swimmer or not confident get a trip into Sharks bay, 10 min, you can walk in at the beach there to see the fish.
Dont book excursions through the rep.A rep from the Diving centre will come round the pool (Jimmy) he can arrange all the trips much cheaper and they are well organised and safe.Excellent boat trips , with diving and snorkelling can be booked through them (Aquamarine dive Club) based at the Prima.Book the Tiran Island trip if you like Dolphins, we had around 30 swimming alonside the boat and the reefs are excellent.
Overall we had a great holiday , the staff were very friendly and the Ukrainians keep themselves to themselves so do the same. The only downside would be the walk to the disorganised beach and a lack of evening seating areas.Naama Bay is very lively so a good place to break up the evenings.Taxi to Naama no more than 70 Eygpt £'s.You dont need a visa at the airport, unless you go to Luxor or Cairo so if you not simply say your not leaving the Sinai Peninsula and save yourelf £10 each.
If you have already booked, dont look at this site anymore, relax and enjoy your stay.

What can i say i arrived back last...

Apr 2008, Miss L Jefferies

What can i say i arrived back last night and today i am booking to go back to the same resort in July . I have to start with the staff, they can not do enough to help they will go out of there way and are extreamly friendly, you will be treated as royalty. Moving onto the room and resort itself it's excelent , very clean and i do have high standards dont no were the other reviews got the idea it wasnt, you are spoiled for choice with pools which i saw cleaned at leat twice a day every day, and the only place we were served with plastic cups was round the pool which makes sense for safety reasons and they certainly were not reused. We stayed in a standard room which was cleaned throughout daily, it was bright and big the bed was comfortable and the veiw was fantastic the bathroom was excellent with a walk in shower. The main restaurant was as you would expect as your not in the uk but is verry clean , the burgers and hotdogs ect at the snack bar by the pool were great though and the local mcdonalds /kfc / tgi fridays/ pizza hut are great really big portions and half the price they are in uk! The beach is having wok done on it ut most beaches are the same remember its not he beaches you go there for it's mthe sea, snorkeling is a must do there .We booked 4 trips with the rep Ahamed we done cairo , bedwin experiance, and the garden reef snorkiling in ras mohammed, all are a must do and you can get them cheaper with other companies but i would advise to go through the rep as we had the highst quality transport and he was helpful we herd of other peolple that went with local companies which had gone wrong ours was perfect! all in all it was excellent and i wish i was still there i was worried when i saw the reveiws, but dont be if you have booked here and if you havnt i would say go for it i highley reccomend it ! Ahamed on the beach bar and in the sheshka cafe in the night is excellent he made our holiday he is so kind!

I rate this hotel as 7 out of 10....
7 / 10
Apr 2008, Mr A Potter

I rate this hotel as 7 out of 10. Firstly let me start by saying there is no way this is a 5 Star hotel, the accommodation is comfortable but the food is a bad 2 Star.
Good points;
• Pool and gardens are excellent, you'll have no problem getting a towel and sun bed.
• The majority of staff are excellent; some chefs are ignorant and just ignore you.
Very close to airport.
Bad points;
• All drinks are served in plastic cups that are reused.
• Hygiene is non existent in the main restaurant. There are always lots of flies on the food.
• You’re guaranteed a bad stomach because of the level of hygiene.
• Entertainment is quiet disappointing more Butlins than 5 Star resort.
• Beach is very disappointing, quite dirty and there would be no reason to leave the hotel pool.
• Location, there isn’t really anything within walking distance and it doesn’t feel safe at night.
• The Italian restaurant is much better that the main restaurant but its only open 5 nights a week and you have to book, and they take very few bookings.
This hotel really could be excellent if they took the time to sort out the food, hygiene, entertainment and service. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

This hotel is not a 5* its by most a 3*
The reason i am giving this hotel a 3 rating is for one reason only - The staff
If like our selves this is your main holiday, please listen to my points, as its heart breaking for me to have spent all that money to have stayed in such an awfull place.
The hotel is a joke, We arrived to a room for my family of 4 which had 2 single beds in it & would not safely fit anymore, after complaining was told the only way to get a bigger room would be to pay £300 extra, which we had to do. This room still only just fitted the beds in it.
The food is dreadfull, cold & raw, the restaurant is full of flies, we all had bad stomach's for 2 weeks.
They serve drinks in plastic beakers with bite marks around them.
The tea spoons are plastic.
The pools are dirty
The pool area is never washed and sticky
The childrens play area is full of glass
There is no kids club, there is a room with some pens & paper in it!!!!
The beach........oh my god, there is no shuttle bus there & you have all of 20 foot of dirty beach
The health spa is filthy
I really could go on & on, please do not stay here leave it to the many rude Russians that are at the hotel.
I do have to say the staff are fantastic with the children and there is a new manager in the hotel who was starting to turn the hotel around as we were leaving.....Good luck to him.

Mar 2008, Mrs D Haws

We stayed at this hotel 2 Adults 2 Children for 10 days and I must say after reading the reviews was a bit concerned, how pleasently surprised my family were. The room was upgraded free of charge when we arrived and a additional bed added at no extra cost the housekeeping man that attended our room was more than helpful and it was a delight to go into our room after he had been to find the towels arranged as swans and fans including flowers and petals well done and thanks. The pool man Mahmoud was the most pleasant man and a pleasure to talk to nothing was too much trouble for him well done keep up the good work. The pools were brilliant and constantly being cleaned a bit chilly but we were able to swim the boys had a fun time. the grounds were maintained to a high standard. The food was basic but we did not starve there was always something that we were able to eat. If you get bored with the food there is a fantastic chinesse resturant called the Z. RED DRAGON in the Yasmin Centre which is located in the 2nd set of shops just passed the 1st roundabout turning left as you leave the hotel pay it a visit you will not be disappointed. There is also a McDonalds abit further down the road and it so clean and the food freshly prepared must say puts our McDonalds to shame. Drinks we always available but the Russians are the biggest pain as they push in and have no consideration for other guests they need to learn some manners and try to remember that they must queue the same as the rest of the guests. When you book out at 12:00 you have to hand back your wristbands but we had no problem obtaining food and drinks after this time.
I would like to say a personnal thank you to the couple that we met on our last day for allowing us to use their room to shower ready for our departure true helpful brits, nice to have met you.
I believe you get what you pay for and staying at this hotel was a pleasure and we all enjoyed our stay. The weather is fantastic and I hope anyone going will enjoy their stay too.
