Ive just come back from the rehana...

Aug 2008, Miss Lozz Darbz

Ive just come back from the rehana sharm resort yesterday , it was a brilliant holiday i would deffently recomend quad biking but not the bedquin nights, it was so boring you stay there for 3 hours, and you wotch a show that is boring they dont even know what there doing ! you sit on the floor with a rock surporting your back you wait 2 and a half hours for food thats not even cooked! we had chicken with rice th chicken was pink!
anyway the hotel was good not brilliant but good the entertainment was rubbish basicli they let an album play from 10 till 3 and dance then they have a break for 2 hours and start again JOY! They have gardeners working 24/7 but when they water the plants get
ready to hold your breath because the water smells of seuage it made us gag seriosly!
the food was okay if you like to try differnt foods your fine but if you dont its rice and pasta and chips for you. At about 11 they make burger hot dogs and chips everyday the chips are so greasy its unbeleveable! the burgers look raw but this is discusting the cook was making the chips and when he dished them up the swet dripped off him and driped into the chips that deffently put me off them for the rest of the holiday.
the bands for all inclusive - if you lose it its £15 in english money for a new 1!
the night club was great but on our last day the window just smashed through so dont lean on the windows
in the lobby bar the hand rail is lose it shakes wen you touch it
everybody that we came on holiday with sufferd with the poos so take your tablets
the pool is clean Its not filthy like the other person said they clean the filters every 1hr or 30 mins and clean the pool every day.
overall it was a really good holiday i would go there again but maybe not to this hotel.

I have just got back from te rehana...
3 / 10
Aug 2008, Miss R Robinson

I have just got back from te rehana sharm resort and although it was not a 5* hotel like advertised we all still had a really good time. Like most of the reviews alot of our group had stomach bugs but we couldnt pin point it to one thing. The food in the resturant was fine at breakfast and lunch but for your evening meal it was a bit of a let down, the italian and lebaniz resturants at the hotel were lovely and during our 2 week stay we ate at them a few times or went along to the steakhouse or into nahama bay to get a proper meal. The drinks were ok but not what we expected.
The pool area was lovely but we did have problems with the smell of the sewage water getting sprayed in the mornings over the plants. To get a sunbed you either had to put ur towel out before you went to bed or get up at 6am or tip the pool men which we didnt do. A few mornings we found our towels had disappeared only to find them at the bottom of the pool or in the towel mans hut?????
The room did get cleaned evey day and fresh towels were always in the room, but things go missing, not big things but a few of the group couldnt find things and when it came to packing they had been hidden behind cabinets or under clothes, strange !!
We went in a group of 13 , seven men and 6 women we are all aged from 21 - 28, and the women had problems with the cleaners , if we wewe walking to our rooms alone the would constantly ask for photos and they knew if you were alone in the room and would find any exuse to come in eg. check hot water, check air con, change soap....this would happen after they had cleaned the room and should have been finished for the day.
We did complain at reception but nothing was done.
The rest of the staff at the hotel were lovely, the service at the pool bar was great and in the main resturants and the a al cartes.
We did get a bit of hassle at the start with people trying to get us on trips and activities but it died down after a few days.
The animation team at the hotel are fab, they work really long hours and always manage to have a smile on their faces and have time to talk to you, the organised activities they do arent anthing special but aqua gym is a laugh and club dance is entertaining. They were all from eastern europe but there english was fine and all the kids at the hotel loved them.
The hotel was a little bit to far from things though , i had a great time in egypt the people were really friendly when i go back i would stay closer to nahma bay though and pay a little bit more, but i had a fantastic holiday and was sad to leave.

Staff were friendly enough after you...
1 / 10
Aug 2008, Mr A Tomkinson

Staff were friendly enough after you get your head around them holding their hands out for tips (but thats life in their country). Inital impressions on arrival where fairly good and expectations high (arrived at 22;30ish) where the pool was lit and looked very refreshing. The red sea is fab.
Weather was the best part of the holiday simply superb all the two weeks we were there, but that is it for pleasantries im affraid.
We were told to take diarrhoea treatment in case we got dodgy belly due to the water!! Well every day the hotel staff water the plants and grass with sewage water!! NOT HEALTHY and this would certainly not have been acceptable in the UK. out of 16 in our party only 4 did not get the Cairo Curse belly, dont bother taking any UK strength treatments as they are not adequate enough for the bug they have over there you will have to visit the chemist accross the road who will give you antbiotics over the counter but I warn you they are not cheap I spent £45 GBP on treatments during my visit, I had the Sh##s so bad I spent 2 days in bed.
If you have young children this place is simply not safe there is many areas where children can jump onto walls that are about a foot off the ground with a 5 METRE drop the other side so eyes in the back of your head will be needed.
The hotel does not appear to have any accidental/liability insurance as an item was broken in a room and they charged £95 GBP on checkout.
Food was ok for me but the children hated it!
Entertainment was diabolical the kids were bored and if you have children that are very small there is nowhere safe for them to run without danger from falling down steps, over walls or into the swimming pool.
Outside the complex prepare yourself the country is dirty (Rubish everywhere that gets dumped in the desert and inevitably blows arond back to the resorts).
I know some people get on these review pages just to moan for the sake of it but I can assure you if you get the tummy cramps and disentry like I did you will be next to leave your review.
I think tour operators should look closely at this one due to sewage water being pumped into the grass and plants around the resort and i,m in no dout must find its way into the pool, the chemicals they use to combat this in the pool will strip your retina of all their fluid and leave you in a great deal of discomfort.
If you you do have small children demand a ground floor apartment as small children can squeze through the caps in the upper level ballatrades.
But please dont let me put you off if you have booked everyone needs to make their own mind up just expect little and everything higher than that will be a bonus, I will not be taking my children back to Egypt again at least until they get hold of some safety awarness. They just see holiday makers as easy money and will strip you of it at any given chance.
BEWARE the British airports will allow you 20kg for your cases but coming back is where the ROBBING Bast##ds will get you by only allowing you 15kg and charge you extortionate rates for any 1kg over that, it would be cheaper to post your luggage home!
Out of all the people we met on holiday not one family told us they were not effected by the sh##s.

Jul 2008, Mr D Illston

Just got back from 2 weeks at the rehana sharm and am looking to book again for next year, this is largely due to the facts that the rooms are cleaned daily the food is acceptable especially in the italian retaurant where the waiter is one of the nicest blokes you'll meet, the pools are crystal clean and the staff are the friendliest ive ever come across in all my years of travelling abroad. All i can say is dont expect 5star in egypt to be the same as 5 star in spain,it isnt, but once you get used to this you can start to enjoy egypt.Dont forget a tip goes a long way to making your stay a lot better.

I agree that you get what you pay for...

Jul 2008, Mrs M Boniface

I agree that you get what you pay for but on an all inclusive holiday you expect the basics.
You won't starve as there is plenty of bread and you can always go out of the hotel if you want something to eat.
Agree your price before you get in your taxi and don't let the sods rob you as their sole aim in life appears to be that purpose.
If you drink wine or beer you'll be alright but beware of the spirits as they all taste the same and that is disgusting. I like a drink but i was teetotal after day 1.
The entertainmnet is a joke but the Russians love it, and there are plenty of them with absolutely no manners.
The weather is amazing. I would think very carefully about going to this resort and do not go to this hotel, do your research there are much better hotels around.
Finally do not take travellers checks as they are very difficult to get cashed.

Arrived back from Rehanna Sharm 1...
1 / 10
Jul 2008, Mr W Greaves

Arrived back from Rehanna Sharm 1 week ago, after a 2 week stay. On arrival to Sharm Airport at 12.45 AM a free transfer was provided to the resort which is no more than 10 mins, so after getting through passport control we probably got to the resort at 01.45, whereupon we found no room available. After an hour wait we were taken to a standard room even though we paid for the upgraded rooms that are available. The room had a double bed and a sofa bed with no bedding covers provided for the sofa bed. This was not adequate as we were a party of 4 with a teenage daughter and 11 year old son. The staff went to look for a further single bed and bedding. 1 hour later the single bed arrived with no bedding, a further hour later and the bedding arrived. The time scales speak for themselves, it was approximately 5.00 AM when we eventually got settled!
So the first day of the holiday was pretty much spent sleeping till midday, after getting up we found the Shower broken, the fridge broken and the room door would not lock properly. After consulting with reception a room was made available of the standard we paid for, we moved in 2 days later!
The resort grounds are attractive and well maintained though the pool, I thought could have been cleaner, the water never appeared to clear though pumps and filters appeared to be running constantly. I actually found excrement floating past me when ordering drinks from the poolside bar! NICE!!!
The restaurant is well staffed as is the whole resort, however, though the Restaurant staff appear professional in appearance it quickly becomes apparent that food preparation and hygiene are not of the highest priority. The food provided was, at best, bland. The hot plates kept cooked food luke warm, all salad, fruit, bread and desserts were left uncovered at all times. The restaurant was a haven for flies with no measures in place to remove/ kill them, therefore it is of no surprise that a number of people come down with stomach cramps and diarhorrea. Fortunately there is a pharmacy across the road from the resort which does a good trade in stomach bug drugs! I think I ate in the restaurant no more than 5 times, choosing to leave the resort and heading off to Naama Bay to decent eateries!
The animation team at the resort do an adequate job of entertaining the youngsters, though they are all of East European origin and therefore cater more for our East European bretheren, of which there are many, all rude and ill manered as other reports here suggest!
Again as previously stated in other reports, the beach is not worth visiting either, therefore you are limited to the pool area most of the time. If you wish to use a sun lounger you need to be out of bed early as there just arent enough to go around!
During your day sunbathing next to the pool, you are constantly annoyed by either hotel staff or various reps trying to sell excursions or massages etc. At first you are polite in refusing, however even the most tolerant people ended up telling them to sternly go away!
During our second week we were asked if we could again move room as ours required re-decoration, so again we moved rooms, back to a standard room! 1 day later my wife spoke to a lady who had moved in to our room which to all intents and purposes appeared to be the same as when we moved out! We were not impressed and immediately complained with little effect!
I could go on and on about the bad things and to be truthful there isn't much that impressed me about Rehana Sharm! If you want brilliant weather then visit Egypt, if you want 5 star then do more research and dont choose this resort! All I can say is the people that rate this resort better than I, must have more money than sense!

Jul 2008, Mr G Edwards

On Arival after a 5 hour flight we checked in, all seemed ok nice hotel and complex.
A few days into the Holiday and Me and my party could relax. Pleasent rooms all with air-con and safe box with En suite facilities.
The pool - The complex has several pools which if all inclusive can take advantage of. no concerns there. All I say is be careful of entering the pool and clinbing out as the fibreglass on the edge was a tab sharp as i found out when in the pool scratching my thigh.
The Food - Its ok as food comes eadable and a nice variety to choose from.
The Staff - In the resturant they are friendly and can't help bot do enough for you. At the pool service is a bit slow with one person manning 2 bars. A tab Frustrating. The Taxi Staff and security are also very pleasent and like to chat and laugh.
The Cleaners - Well this is where I send out a WARNING to all!!! - I had taken with me a few designer T-shirts and due to the hot weather only really wore my vest tops. I came to pack my case on leaving and found that 3 of my T-Shirts had gone missing.
I started doubting myself thinking I must not have packed then.
On my arrival Home I checked straight away as this was still playing on my mind. My designer Tops were not here. For me it was really to late and I wish to God I would have highlighted this to the Manager of the Hotel. As they say you learn from your mistakes, but I just wanted to make anyone else going, Double check your wardrobe whilst there and before leaving. ROBBING BA****DS!!!!
Weather - In June it was boiling Late 30 high 40's most Days, although a breeze I would reccommend using high factors. In the airport I did see people with Bandages on where they had burnt. Not Nice memory of your jollies really.
The Flight out - Well Be Careful of the Excess Baggage £7 per Kilo, make sure u take out the extra before if possible.
We also had a 5 hour delay flying home so if you get to the airport early enough get a table and chairs as they are more comfortable than the metal ones. the Duty Free is also in American Dollars so be careful when purchasing anything.
Other than that, I personal don't think will be attending egypt for this kind of holiday again.

Jun 2008, Mr S Edmunds

just got back today from two weks at rehana hotel sharm el shiekh (11 june 2008) I have read the reports and will try and give as informative as possible without being crude. To start the hotel is a maximum of three star and not the reported five star, the pools were very nice but the staff wouldnt do a thing for you unless you paid them tips not a lot for example if they got you a sun bed it was expected to give them a £1 tip if they brought you a drink to your dining table again a tip was expected. We travelled with XL airlines and a word of warning the outgoing baggage allowance was 20 kg per person and on return it is 15kg with every addtitonal kg being charged at £8 a kg so you can imagine the chaos and arguing at Sharm airport this morning. I took my wife and ten year old son over the half term break for two weeks and it cost £1300 it was worth the money if they had said three star and we had not built up our expectations of a five star. The old saying in this case is correct "you get what you pay for" all in all it was a good three star holiday but the staff are very annoying tutting, muttering in Egyptian and giving bad looks if you dont tip

9 / 10
May 2008, Mrs A @ H Edinburgh

Just returned after 2 weeks at the Rehana Sharm Resort. After reading the poor reviews on this hotel, I was a bit apprehensive about what to expect. I just don't understand what all the fuss is about. Okay the hotel isn't 5 star as advertised, but at the prices for 2 weeks all inclusive, I would hardly expect real 5 star. The room we had was a very good size, 2 beds, sofa and 2 armchairs and coffee table, with still plenty of room for my husband and I. The room was cleaned dailly, with fresh towels, and sealed bottles of water for the mini bar. Food was varied and plentiful. Not everything was to my taste but remember it is Egypt so you can't expect the food to be british. Fresh pasta was on offer at meal times, so even if there wasn't anything on the menu to tempt you, the chef was happy to make a pasta to your own taste..... what british hotel offers that kind of service. At lunch time if you didn't fancy the main dining menu, there were burgers, hotdogs, chips and fresh pizza on offer, followed by popcorn and crepes. Staff in all areas including reception, pool bar, dining room and around the pool were excellent. The only downside to the holiday was nothing to do with the hotel or its staff but having to tolerate the rudeness and greed of the Russian guests. Someone needs to educate them in manners. It costs nothing to say please, thank-you or excuse me but obviously this race dont have these words in their vocabulary.
Away from the hotel I would like to advise holidaymakers to beware of certain tour operators selling trips. We paid in advance for my husband and I to go to Cairo. The trip was cancelled twice by the company, due to traffic problems caused by security relating to the Congress meetings with President Bush in attendance. We accepted this as being no-ones fault and were assured that our money would be refunded to us. After telephone calls where I was repeatedly informed that my money would be brought to the hotel, I finally had to accept that the excuses were lies and that I had been well and truly shafted. So WARNING....beware of a company called SUN SONY EXCURSIONS. The operator who dealt with us was operating on the beach at the Old Market area. Her name is SONJA and her telephone numbers are 0109739540 and 0121490302.

5 / 10
May 2008, Mrs Michele Groat

1 reader found this review helpful

This is certainly not a 5* Hotel, I would grade it as a 3* and it does not have the facilities that it boasts off on the web. We stayed at the Rehana Resort in Sharm El Sheikh this May. There was a party of 10 of us which included 4 Adults, 2 x 17yr Olds, 2 x 14yr olds and 2 small children.
On arrival at the resort the staff were very friendly and could not do enough to accommodate our needs. We did arrive very late at night and they made sure we had the correct beds in the correct room's. .
The next morning we set about looking around but did not find all that we had expected to. It is advertised as sharing the neighbouring resort Rehana Prima Life but it does not say that you can only drink at the Pool Bar in the Prima Life, you cannot eat there or drink in the club in the evening, so this leaves you with the rather small Rehana Resort. The outside Snack Bar would have been adequate and the food was nice enough, Burgers, Hot Dogs, Chips and freshly made Pizza’s if there had been more than 1 person serving the 100 or so hungry people at lunchtime. A wait of about 20 minutes would not be an exaggeration for the time you stood in the queue. I queued for more than this on one occasion and after ordering 5 meals, was told that they had run out of plates and the chef tried to cram all of the food onto 2 plates. This is something we laughed at by the end of the week but believe me it wasn’t amusing at the time.
We had 3 Rooms in total, 2 Family Rooms and a Double Room. All very clean although we had trouble with ants in one room but the cleaners came in every day with fresh towels and made the beds and throughout the holiday the Cleaning Staff were all very friendly and constantly asked if we were happy with our Rooms. We had a few minor problems with all of the rooms over the course of the holiday but with the exception of one (a broken shower) these were all dealt with efficiently and swiftly
The main restaurant is open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner and serves a variety of local cuisine, but if you aren’t adventurous then Pasta and Bread Rolls would be your only choice. I cannot fault the quantity of the food or the Cakes and Pastry’s that were available at every meal and the service was really good. The waiters were all friendly and obliging but when our children were offered freshly squeezed Orange Juice on the first morning and accepted they did not expect the bill for £12 Egyptian money to be given to them, hence the reason we all stuck to the Juice from the dispenser and the Tea and Coffee.
I will say that out of the 10 people in our Party, 8 were all very ill with Stomach Upset’s. I can’t put this down to anything in particular as we all avoided anything washed in the local water (Salad’s, Rice etc) but we did all suffer in some way and the symptoms lasted a few days.
The Pool area was a good size and there was a towel service for the Sun Beds which was nice. There are 3 Pools, the main one with a small pool above and the Children’s Pool but this didn’t seem to be cleaned as regularly as the two bigger ones. We had been told that there was a Children’s Club but this was not so and the entertainment for them was limited to a Mini Disco in the evening that started at 9pm and finished 15 minutes later. There was certainly no Children’s Entertainment to speak of. The Adult Entertainment started at 10pm and lasted about an hour, this was on the whole quite poor, there were a couple of Shows that were worth watching out of the 10 Days.
A Beach was also supposed to be part of the complex but this was at least a 5 minute walk across the main road and it was not the pretty beach we would have hoped to have been part of this 5* Hotel.
Overall the holiday was pleasant apart from the Stomach Upsets and lack of Entertainment right up until the last 24 hours. We were not flying out until 03.30 in the morning and as check out is at Midday we paid extra to keep a Room until 6pm so that we could enjoy the day around the pool and shower before leaving.
There was a discrepancy when we gave up 2 of the rooms at midday as one of our Towel’s had been taken by another Holiday Maker at sometime during the week, we were charged £8 English along with another £8 for my daughters band which she had taken off knowing we were checking out and thrown away, I showed the Reception Staff that she no longer had the band but they insisted that I pay for the band anyway. We were then told that with the exception of the two small children we were not entitled to anything to eat or drink. We did argue this as we did not arrive until after the Evening Meal on our first day so we were told that we could have our last meal in the restaurant that evening, soft drinks only!
Some friends that our older Children had met on the holiday got them a drink of Sprite during the afternoon but this caused another set too with reception and they reminded us again that we were not entitled to eat or drink.
Having nothing else to do but wait until our pick up at 1am in the morning we sat in Reception and played Cards whilst the 2 small children slept. When we asked of we could have a pillow and a small blanket to cover the children up as they were cold we were asked to pay for them.
One of the Animation Team (The only English speaking one) saw our predicament and complained at our treatment to one of the Managers who sent two bottles of water and ’3’glasses to reception for us. I’m afraid that by this time it was too little too late.
Overall, we had a pleasant holiday, but were very disappointed with the overall lack of amenities. I would certainly not rate this a 5* hotel and if it hadn’t been for the friendliness of the waiting and bar staff I would have been rating it lower than 3*.

I have just returned from the Rehana Sharm Resort from where I stayed with 3 other friends for a week, all inclusive. After reading some of the reviews on here I must say was unsure about what to expect.
Throughout the week all the staff were exceptionally nice to us, the food was spot on - although some looks different from what we get over here but you should expect it and always try. The Italian and Lebonese restaurants were lovely too.
Our rooms were great and cleaned thoroughly on a daily basis, any problems we had with regards to security boxes not working and needing another bed they sorted it out straightaway.
Entertainment in the evening was fun to watch and the resort is most definatly family orientated with the Animation Team doing stuff with the children of an evening.
We were able to use the other hotels 'Prima Life' facilities but having to pay for food and drinks.
Everyday activites were taking place around the pool to keep you occupied with sessions like Water Aerobics, Water Polo, Ping Pong and Darts.
We also went snorkeling for the day to Ras Mohamed National Part with AquaMarine which office is based at the Prima Life. The most fantastic day of my stay, out of this world seeing all the coral and fish and the staff and food on the boat was exceptional.
With having to check out at 12 midday and our flight not being until midnight, reception sorted us out with a room where we could all have showers and freshen up before having to leave.
All in all, an excellent holiday and was really sad to go but most definatley will be returning. Its just a shame the other european countries that stay there couldnt be more friendly to the staff or other people, probably the only bug bare of my holiday was that other visitors have no manners!!
