Honeymoon Heaven
10 / 10
Jun 2011, Nigella

Had our honeymoon here after a December Wedding and spent two weeks being totally spoilt. The food was exceptional, the service and standards were A* and nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff.
We had the most fabulous suite with flowers and a bottle of bubbly left on arrival which was a touching gesture.
We quite like to go out and about in the evenings to different bars and meeting places, but the hotel bar and lounge was so lovely we didn't venture out that much in the evening.
We were totally spoilt for choice when it came to the food. There were at least a dozen different types of tea (loose or bags) to choose from and freshly made (but very strong) coffee. All the hot food was cooked to order and range of breads, cereal, fruit and meats was second to none.
There was a good selection of wines by the bottle, but must say the house red/white by the carafe was also very good. If you like beer do try the weitzen bier (extra dark) which is just divine.
The spa and beauty salon was a welcome relief after a hard day on slopes. Very relaxing and beautifully appointed and peaceful. A good place to relax when you have a weary body.
Hoping to go back for our anniversary this season .

  • Advice: get on your skis and have a fab day. The big roaring fire at the hotel together with yummy cakes and tea is all you need

We stayed at this hotel in March 2007...

Oct 2007, Mr E Poleman

We stayed at this hotel in March 2007 and I have to say it was fantastic. The food was excellent, although dinner courses were ordered at breakfast time. Not a problem but a bit odd! One small gripe was the price of drinks at the restaurant, €4.50 for a bottle of water, wine was €18 +. Still I guess it's the same in most hotels.
The rooms were a pleasure to return to, a bit like home from home, only better. There is a pool and fitness area also, sauna is au-naturel (if you like), but then you are on holidays.
An excellent place to stay; good skiing and night-life with the hotel in a quiet area, close to town, approx 5 mins walk from ski lift, and maybe 10 (wobbling distance) from Crazy Daisy's (the local night spot).
We're going back this year. Go - you'll love it!

Marvelous. The hotel is family run...

Dec 2006, Mr I M Hayes

Marvelous. The hotel is family run and the location is excellent.
The rooms are well appointed with spacious sleeping and good bathrooms. The restaurant is very good and meals include good options ranging from local traditional (read meat) through pasta and more international options.
The "well being centre" is well worth while. Steam rooms, swimming pool, massage and sauna are lovely and very welcome after a day on the mountain.
Skiing locally in Zell is excellent and offers great intermediate and beginner options while experts might want some more challenge there are some good blacks and lots of opportunity to go off-piste.
The on-piste restaurants offer lots of options and range from the typical fodder of ski resorts to almost gourmet levels of dining. Prices are as expected and you seem to get what you pay for.
Après ski is available to suit all tastes - relaxed cocktails to wild shot fueled nights. Fun for all the grown ups. Kids should be in bed by then anyhow!

We stayed here in the summer....

We stayed here in the summer. Everything about this hotel is fantastic....the food, the rooms, the friendly staff, the spa and pool etc etc. I could go on, but I really do recommend this hotel if you want to go in the summer or winter.
The resort is excellent. It’s so easy to get to Kaprun (great for glacier skiing). We hired bikes from the hotel to cycle around the lake. The scenery is breathtaking.
We will be returning in the winter for the ski season.

The Tirolerhof certainly lives up to...

Mar 2006, Mr M Carroll

The Tirolerhof certainly lives up to its reputation and is a fine example to others. We arrived late at the hotel, around 23:00 and were greeted with a friendly smile and a three course hot dinner!
The rooms are well furnished, had plenty of room and were serviced each day.
The pool spa area is fantastic with exceptional attention to detail which along with the food served in the restaurant makes this hotel incredible value for money.
The staff spoke very good English, and made us feel very welcome......nothing was to much trouble.
We will be returning in the summer!
