A clean quiet room, sadly without a view. Sparkling clean shower room.
Compact? Bijou? - oh, let's be honest... TINY.
Very modern and stylish with a few 'luxury' touches e.g. Dove sachets, 'free' bottle of water, tea/coffee/hot chocolate, trouser press, flat screen TV.
A comfortable night's sleep once the noisy neighbours calmed down.
A skimpy buffet breakfast is served in the adjoining Garfunkel’s, but can be upgraded to something more adequate but at a price.
Just a few niggles... check-in was complicated as trainee desk clerk did not know what to do with my on-line pre-paid accommodation voucher, the credit card swipe almost cost me £179 instead of 1p....and he forgot to give me a breakfast voucher.
Something that really worried me was that the hotel policy appears to insist on a passport (I am a UK national) or driving licence (I had come by train) before they will check you in: this was not their practice on my last visit, nor was I told this by Roomex. I wonder what would have happened if I had not been a previous customer?
So, use this hotel if you are psychic for changes of policy, enjoy teaching IT, maths, and geography simultaneously while explaining that Identity Cards are not a legal requirement in the UK, or carry photo ID everywhere.
I shall use the Quality Crown again simply because it is within my expense budget, is absolutely convenient for Paddington Station, the local transport links are excellent and I can get a great deal via Pigsback and Roomex.

Stayed for 1 night in the Quality Inn on business in the summer. This hotel is very centrally located if you are working in, or wish to be based in Paddington. It's a stone’s throw from the station.
The rooms are small, but very modern, with large shower and Plasma telly. The beds are quite small (a double for 1!) and a very small table in the room - but there isn't much room for anything else.
The bed was comfortable, but I didn't sleep well - as there was no air conditioning and had to have the window open - which meant that it was really noisy, as I could hear the trains and also the bars filling their recycling bins.
Would stay again on a cooler night, but it's not my first choice of hotels when staying in Paddington, although my colleagues stay there all the time and really like it!

Extremely convenient for Paddington Station.
I had a comfortable and very modern single room on the first floor. The window was frosted over as there were what looked like air conditioning units on a flat roof outside: the room was facing the well of the building and would be cool (gloomy) even on a bright sunny day. This was not a problem as I was on an over-night business stay.
I appreciated the free bottle of water and the luxurious Dove toiletries; there was also tea, coffee and hot chocolate supplied with the kettle, as well as a pack of 2 biscuits. The whole room was finished to a high standard - I enjoyed the wall mounted flat screen TV, particularly as it was showing an episode of the 'Hotel Inspector'!
What was a concern was the room size: it really was small. Although no space was wasted I was unable to use the suitcase stand which had to remain inside the wardrobe - why provide one when there was absolutely nowhere to put it?
The breakfast buffet was adequate, but not the best I have had in a London hotel: cereal, fruit, yoghurt, bread or croissants, cheese, ham or jam. The rolls seemed close to stale and there was not a lot of anything left, even though it was before 8 am.
I paid £92 for one night's B+B - even though I was not paying, I feel this was poor value for money for my employers.
