This brand new hotel is in a fantastic location along the golden beach. With a wide range of facilities and fully-equipped spa centre, this is a wonderful all-inclusive option. Just moments from the beach, where a variety of watersports are available. The centre of Agadir with its souks and shops is only 10 minutes away.

We have just returned and like a lot of people were unsure what to expect having read some mixed reviews about the resort.

I can honestly say it was one of the best places i have stayed in. The resort itself was very impressive: Spacious, stylish, modern and spotlessly clean. The bedrooms were huge, the beds really comfortable and the maids did a great job every day.

By the pool there were more than enough sunbeds available, even if you didnt get down there until mid day. Alternatively the beach is about 10 meters away with a private area closed off for hotel guests.

We found the selection of food really good. Often with all inclusive hotels you can easily get bored after a few days but not here. There was a huge choice that was different each day and all was very tasty and hot. Equally impressive was the salad bar and dessert selection. We heard a few people moan about upset stomachs but this was more likely due to eating food that they were not used to and/or drinking iced cold drinks all day in blistering hot sunshine. There is also an Italian restaurant and a Moroccan one. Both were very good, the Italian one slightly better.

All the staff were really friendly and really looked after you. Its true that at times the service was not super fast, but that just reflects the pace of life in the resort and probably Morocco as a whole. After all, if you are on holiday to relax who cares if a drink takes 5 minutes to arrive rather than instantly!

There is also a good gym and spa with loads of reasonably priced treatments available.

Agadir itself is great to walk around, with lots of bars if you do fancy a change of scenary from the hotel. The local people are incredibly freindly and you dont get hassled much at all. When the occasional person does approach you to sell something, it only takes a firm "No Thanks" of "La Shakram" and they will leave you alone.

All in all definately recommended and I just wish we had 2 weeks there instead of just 1!

I have just returned from a week stay with family and kids. The hotel and staff were excellent and there is a nice sense of security to let the kids roam as the whole complex is secured and manned with a couple of guards, (not to say I felt threatened in anyway when outside the complex).

There isn’t a great deal to do if you want an action packed holiday or like lots of shopping. However, the beach is fantastic and only 20 yards from the hotel as well as the superb pool complex. There is a well equip kids club but the lady running it is a bit like the child disliking Punch & Judy bloke from Hi-De-Hi! The big Sioux is worth a visit, however be aware that the taxi driver may offer you the tourist Sioux (as he did to us) and you will end up in a back street shop belonging to a member of his family!

The hotel Royal Atlas is the best hotel to be in, it’s very spacious, clean and seems void of chavs. The food was great with a very large varied selection. If you’re expecting chips, pies and burgers to eat and inflatable crocodiles in the pool then forget it and get yourself off to Blackpool or Benidorm,

Not having been to Morocco I was a bit wary, however I would recommend it if you want a nice relaxing holiday, and I will probably return one day.

A FANTASTIC HOLIDAY RESORT!!! Definately recomend it! We returned from Morocco on Wednesday. As a family we had a fanastic time. The hotel staff were BRILLIANT, very friendly and FUN. There were lots of activities to get involved in - for adults and children. The first choice tours were a little pricey...The first choice rep was a bit wet... don't believe everything he says!!! On arrival we were given the impression that the dress code (when leaving the hotel) was very strict- Rep told us to cover shoulders and knees...Panic...not enough clothes. When we spoke to the locals they told us to just get a life...all the youngesters dressed just like us...so take that advice with a pinch of salt! The country is lovely, lots to see and great people. The people of Morocco are very relaxed and laid back, don't expect things to happen quickly - just go with the flow. Cleanliness A1 standard, lots of food variety-good value for all inclusive. I would say it is not a cheap country but if you barter you may get a bargin. Never offer more than a 3rd of the price!!! We organised some of our own day trips-works out a lot cheaper...always set taxi fair before you leave. Gather info from hotel staff... they are always willing to help. Country works on tipping- so always carry lots of change. Good luck if you decide to go! x

I have just returned from the Royal Atlas and having read the varying reviews went with an open mind. Having broken my foot two days before travelling I was on crutches, on arrival at the airport I was met with a wheelchair and whisked through to my coach. The hotel was superb, the staff immediately moved my accommodation to reception level to make it easier for me and all through my stay the rep, the management and the staff were absolutely superb and offers of help and support were in abundance. The hotel was spotless, the rooms were beautiful, my only criticism would be the bathroom which needed a few additions to stop the shower flooding the bathroom floor and the shower fittings and tiling could have been improved. The food in the main restaurant and both the Morrocan and Italian were excellent. The buffet restaurant offered excellent choice and variety, beautifully presented as much as you wanted. The pool area was kept clean and tidy and poolside entertainment, i.e. belly dancing. aqua gym, aerobics etc was available to those who wanted to participate. Service was slightly slower than here but the culture is much more laidback and if you accept that an enjoyable time can be had by all. Public toilets in the hotel were immaculate but ran short of toilet rolls which were not topped up on a regular enough basis. Overall it was an excellent holiday representing unbeatable value for money and I would highly recommend it.

We have just returned from 1 weeks stay at the Royal Atlas and all i can say is thank god we never went for a fortnight!!!! Food was rubbish. On the odd occassion there was something that we could identify,it was cold. Cutlery was dirty and the restaurant smelt. Waiter service was never the best, sometimes getting our drinks after we had finished the meal or sometimes not at all. If you asked for water it was at room temperature, never cold even when we asked for it.

Entertainment - non existant!! unless you count the music festival that was on for 1 night on the beach outside our room which started at 11pm and went on till 6am!!!!

The all inclusive isnt exactly all inclusive. Only buffet restarant and stone bar are all inclusive. You do get 1 visit each to the italian and moroccan but i wouldnt bother. We didnt arrive untill 9.30 pm and evening buffet had finished so we had nothing to eat and on day of departure the all inclusive finishes at 12noon and we didnt get picked up untill 5pm so its a good job we had got some money left over! Pool bar tried to charge us £2.50 for a small bottle of water!!

We were both quite poorly whilst over there which is funny as we hardly ate anything - the rep was blaming an airbourne virus that was going around the hotel???

Make sure you remove anything valuable when you leave the hotel as a lady that we met over ther had her camera and purse stolen out of her fastened handbag!

On the upside though, whole hotel was kept lovely and clean and so was pool area.

We will not be going again and wont be recommending it to anybody!

my husband my 12 year old son and myself went to the royal atlas in may 08, we were a bit concerned when reading other reviews but found we had been concerned for no reason at all, we found the hotel lived up to its 5 stars and the service at the pool bar was excellent. however we did find the drink service in the international and italian restaurants quite slow but then again we were on holiday so what was the rush really.found the staff friendly and helpful maids were excellent at thier jobs as long as you didnt leave any money laying around as they took it upon themselves to help themselves to a few quid, but we learnt from that and locked everything in the safe from then onwards.drinks in bars ther than the stone bar (the all inclusive bar)were very costly (£5.40 a shot!!!!). we had 2 main problems with the hotel 1 being they didnt cater for kids at all being food or entertainment, and 2 there was entertainment in the hotel as advertised but for about half an hour each night and then the second week it was repeated, as was the food. the beach was seconds away and golden we walked for miles and the sight from the kasbah was lovely, the souks again were seconds away. would go back but only for a week.

Yesterday i returned from the Royal Atlas hotel in agadir. I can honestly say it was the best holiday i have had so far. I went with another couple and we are all 21 and every one of us enjoyed it. We read the reviews before going and we were a bit unsure what what it was going to be like so here is my opinion on a few matters.

Location- Right on the beach and surronded by security to ensure guests do not get hassled by locals selling goods. We didnt go out much- so i cant comment too much on the matter. We only went to an English Bar across the road and to the shops in the day which were a short walk along the beach to the marina where you can find Zara and Lacoste.

Hotel- On arriving it the hotel we were breath taken by the designs and architecture. The hotel is very clean and tidy, the cleaners were constantly in the toilets cleaning. Its quite a big hotel with a ball room (we met the rep here), spa, indoor pool, 3 resturants, internet room, 3 bars, kids room, games room (which we never found), shop, nightclub (we didnt try this), huge pool and a section on the beach. Our room was beautiful and had a separate toilet and bathroom, with bath/shower, hairdryer, dressing gowns, towels, tv (2 english channels) small balcony with table and chairs that outlooked another hotel and part of the beach.

Staff- No problems, they were very friendly and couldnt do enough for you. They would chat to you at the pool side, carry your luggage for you, bring your drinks over (sometimes without request) they collected our cases and took them to our room. The maids worked hard to keep the rooms spotless everyday (even folding my boyfriends boxers!!) We left them a large tip in the end. The pool was also keep clean with poolside staff collecting empty bottles and cups. The staff provide you with towels for the pool and beach and these were collected at the end of the day.

Food- This is our only complaint as we all had upset stomachs. The main resturant has different food each night, some cooked fresh infront of you. It was hard for me to find something i liked as im quite a fussy eater. I usually had pasta and bread roll, but i still managed to get ill. We think it is just the way they cook their food in different oils and we werent used to it. We found a pizza hut down the road which was a popular choice with other hotel guests. The hotel has a moroccan and an italian resturant. The italian was lovely with pasta and pizza but the morrocan wasnt too good! I couldnt find anything i liked so i had the couscous with raisens, this was too dry and the sauce was horrible! My friend had the vegetable version which was decorated with the scraps of a cabbage! Not nice at all! The boys had chicken and lamb they said it was nice but nothing special. I would suggest you eat there for the experiance as you are entitled a meal there if you are All Inclusive but be warned and remember to pack your Diocalm!!!

Girls, the rep was told us to cover shoulders and knees to not offend anyone. I wore linen trousers some nights but wasnt too bothered as we were staying in the hotel. So just be warned if you are conscience.

Overall i would rate 9/10 as i had a lovely holiday and being ill didnt ruin the trip at all and I will definately recommend it!

Returned from the Royal Atlas on the 26th March after 2 excellent weeks relaxing, never had any problems at all, hotel staff in all areas were very accommodating give them the odd tip now and again 20drs which is about £1.30 sterling we did and they really appreciated this but we found even if we didn't we still got excellent service in Stone Bar, Le Ocean and Pool Area.

Would not hesitate in recommending this hotel to friends.

We enjoyed the Wine and for an all inclusive it was nice to be served your wine from the bottle and the beer even the mixers like coke, tonic and sprite were not flat because they were served at table in cans and small bottles which is unusual for all inclusive. Food very good but if your want the best selection and it hot go in early when it first opens otherwise you waste time waiting for things to be replenished or queing, always a good selection though salad bar very good and the puddings were yummy!

Anyway enjoy!

(If you speak any French it helps)

We have just returned from the Royal Atlas in Agadir and following some very negative comments on various review sights, we felt a little concerned about the resort.

NO NEED TO WORRY!!!!

We had a most wonderful, restful, relaxing experience and our children had a brilliant time.

The hotel cannot be faulted. The decor is modern and sleek, clean and friendly.

Its location on the seafront is the best in Agadir, what can be better than sitting at the poolside watching the waves crashing on the beach. The weather was warm with a breeze off the sea which made it a little cooler at times ,but it was march!!

We met some wonderful families who had similar experiences.

The staff at best where friendly and helpful but you will experience their speed of service and sometimes differing priorities to us. If you go with the flow and chill you will not have a problem, the confusion comes into play as all the different tour operators have different board levels which was confusing to the staff and seemed to cause the most problems.

The work being carried out on the promenade was obvious and sometimes noisy but these workers at best were working by hand and in warm weather and for the work to be done a little disruption is required, it did not stop our family from having a fantastic holiday , we will be back soon.

what a fantastic time we've had. met some amazing people, guests aswell as staff. read mixed reviews before we went. so went open minded. no need. you can't fault the place unless you really want to. the slow service at the pool bar seemed to be biggest issue. however we think this is so everyone not drunk by lunch time (sensible!!!) but soft drinks were pretty much on tap. food, couldn't fault it. cater for all. they do their best to provide english brekkie but it's not that great but never mind there's loads to choose from. the cakes are to die for so if all else fails just eat cake!!!!

definately going back next year.

Well after reading all these negative reviews, makes me wonder if it was the same hotel I stayed in last week! I can tell you now that the hotel itself is definately worth its 5 stars...but I do feel the service, although very pleasant, was more 4 star. I say this only because in the International Buffet Restaurant L'Oceane, which is very French/German/Moroccan focused (DEFINATELY NOT FOR FUSSY ENGLISH EATERS THERE'S NO BREAKFAST FRY-UP OR CHIPS!!) the service was ok....just ok. We got friendly with some of the waiters/restaurant managers so lucky for us we were served our drinks mostly within 5 minutes. One sitting I didn't get my drink at all! Another small and frankly quite laughable problem is setting the table when busy. We sat down for our dinner one night and it was not set. We went up to get our dinner expecting the waiter to have set the table within the 10 minutes we were away, they did not. I asked for 2 knives and forks and got them, that was fine, but strangely just as we were finishing DESSERT, a waiter came over RE-LAID the table with cutlery and napkins while we were still eating dessert....Although some may be snobbish and find it rude we found it baffling and laughed it off! The Stone Bar definately can get busy from 7pm onwards, and I found to be sure of being waitered on regularly a small tip always helped! Something as little as 5 Dirham in the Stone Bar or the Pool Bar will get you served quicker!! The A la carte Moroccan restaurant Al Yacout can not be faulted, truly authentic and just amazing!! You get one free meal with All Inclusive in the Italian and Moroccan a week. The food was so amazing and the live music and bellydancers ended the night perfectly, I had to leave a tip, besides it was free! The pool area is beautiful and can I say it gets so damn HOT lounging around all day but thats what I did, on the Sun bed Sofas very comfy, or down on the beach. The beach is amazingly long with white sands. The bonus with this hotel is that it has a beach front location, this meaning you have allocated beach area and sunbeds with hotel staff there and volleyball etc. The sunbeds come in useful because you can't get sunbeds from anywhere else on the beach, unless you're staying in a beachfront hotel. You will get hassled by men selling excursions cheaper than the Holiday Rep, but they are dodgy so say no thankyou and walk away....the only people I would say talk to is the Henna ladies! There are a small group of 3 women 2 old, one young, who offer real black Henna and are so kind and talented and charge very small amounts!! I was conned by a dodgy Henna woman who gave me brown not black Henna (black is better by the way) and charged alot. The young girl saw the bad results and covered it and gave me two more for FREE! Back to the hotel rooms, they are great so comfortable. I decided to upgrade my room for the week and I was not dissappointed! All rooms are beautiful, was able to look at a standard room, a Junior Suite where I stayed and an Ambassador Suite STUNNING! They have 2 Royal Suites, so I guess they are outstanding! To round it all up the hotel, beach and weather has made me book 2 weeks in October this year and I can't wait to go back to relax in the Spa and around the pool getting a tan with 30 degree heat!! Worth its 5 stars!

A good holiday, good location, service at meals rather chaotic but food good and enjoyed both the Italian and Morrocan restaurants. One word of caution if you decide to stay at this hotel please put everything in the safe even if of little value. I had my watch stolen from the room and the only persons who had entered the room was myself, husband and hotel staff. Although the watch was not of great value it was a an inconvenience. The security check by the hotel after this incident was only cursory and if I had wished to pursue this further I was informed by the First Choice rep that I would have to report it to the Police and would need to pay for an interpreter. I declined to do this as I had wasted enough of my holiday on this incident.

MARCH08. only just able to comment owing to ill-health. we stayed at the Royal Atlas from 28Dec07 to 11.Jan08. Hotel and position excellent. Food was passable. but the service let it down. had to wait up to 45 minutes to get served in Stone-bar. had one meal (Maroccan). we left the Restaurant after it took 45mis for first course to be dished up. if we spoke french to staff they took more notice. if you were actually French, the staff fell over themselves to serve, even pulling chairs out etc..we were not allowed to take even bottled water to our room, even though it was needed to take with medication. the 1stChoice Reps were friendly but one,Paul, went missing at the end of our first week. we never saw him again. Nasser and Hassan did a good job. we found the indoor-pool very expensive: 150Dirhams=£10pp/hour. in our opinion the Hotel is a good 3*. maybe it'll get better in the near future?? we, certainly, wont go back to the Hotel for a good few years

We stayed at the Beautiful Royal Atlas Hotel from 8th - 15th Feb and enjoyed a relaxing week away. The hotel is brand new and finished to a very high standard, definately a 4*. Located on the beautiful sandy beach where there is still paving work being carried out on the promenade. This will not affect your stay in the slightest.

The service throughout was fine although we did see some people enduring long waits at the stone bar. These people funnily enough were those who didn't appear to be tipping which is customary. I'm not suggesting that you tip each time you order, we simply did on our first and last order. The service in the pool bar was excellent, the staff there work very hard and we found that once you go to the bar for your first drink they were coming straight to our table with refills without us asking.

The food was ok nothing outstanding as is with most all inclusive buffets everything had a habit of tasting the same, so in light of the price we paid we ate out a couple of evenings. The Italian and Morrocan restaurant were very attractive but the food was not. My husband had the lamb in both and despite the very different descriptions they were the same dish, both served alone with no accompaniement. I had the monkfish in the moroccan restaurant and it was not at all to my liking, so we ended up leaving the food and enjoyed the live music. I know people say to expect different things in different countries but I have lived in Africa and did make a formal compaint to First Choice in regards to the 2 restaurants as we also had a frozen food issue in the Italian.

All in all it was a very enjoyable stay with fantastic weather. Just be assured that are plenty of interesting places to go out to in the evenings, don't feel confined to the Royal Atlas as there isn't very much entertainment.

we have just returned from this hotel 3days ago.. GREAT HOTEL and GREAT STAFF!!!

Reading the reviews that have been put on this website are dreadfull to how we have just be treated during our stay at this hotel! I mean we go away for a break! NOT to mark out of 10 on the staff at the hotels....?

The staff were very hardworking and if their are any problems they were delt with.

The hotel was lovely very clean, and the food was nice, it was the same quite a few times but there are meals being served to suit every individual. I was very pleased with my service during my stay, as i must admit i was dreading going to morroco, not a place that has really struck me. but it turned out to be lovely and i am returning next year... many thanks for reading...
