First class hotel, accommodation excellent, food excellent (pretty food, small portions) wine in restaurant expensive, indoor fitness suite incorporating pool, sauna, gym and Jacuzzi.
Staff very helpful. Location set overlooking lake and very close to the town centre. 20-minute bus ride to schmittenhohe and about 35-minute bus ride to kitzsteinhorn(glacier).

Fantastic hotel however very expensive and our room wasn’t the best.
In fact it was underground in another building and room overlooked the rail line (very noisy). My brother had a lake view suite, which was outstanding and had 2 bedrooms, sauna, sitting room and balcony (however he paid a hefty price for it). The hotel otherwise was fantastic.
Food was good but far too fussy and very small portions although 5 courses every night was enough to fill you up. New Year’s Eve was fantastic and they really do push the boat out for this and it is all included in the price.
I had a lovely time and would recommend it to anyone.

My boyfriend and I booked a romantic 4 day, 3 night package at the Grand Hotel and paid extra for the romance package. WHAT A MISTAKE AND DISASTER. The romantic bath we had booked was 30 minutes late and the guy who brought the stuff to our room actually asked us if we wanted to set it up ourselves! However, the worst was the romantic candle light dinner where they put us inside next to a family with a crying baby and no candle or romantic setting which we paid for! We asked to move outside which it started to rain so we moved again under an umbrella. We were never offered a drink or anything. We stood up to get food from the buffet and when we came back 2 MINUTES later people had taken our table!!! This on top of bugs in our duvets, incorrect information on their guides, carpet peeling up in the rooms and much other mistakes put me over the edge. We spoke to the manager who told us he would first have to check with the staff to see what really happened (LIKE MY EXPLANATION WAS NOT ENOUGH) and as if we were making it up. We then talked to the head lady in the restaurant and she told us (and I am not joking) that they were overbooked and we are not high priority because there are lots of people staying there that have been married for years who deserve the outdoor romance! OBVIOUSLY even though we paid MORE for our package we should not be treated equal as we are young.
We wanted to make this our yearly vacation spot as the lake is absolutely gorgeous and we loved the town but after this experience we would not stay at this hotel. During college I worked in a hotel and I would never treat guests the way we were treated. They absolutely ruined our romantic weekend which we cannot get back. I am fully 100% disappointed that they could not even offer us recognition with an apology letter in our room or recognition that they were wrong at all! I am not someone who typically writes reviews but as I am now so irate I plan on writing my review on every feedback wall regarding this hotel I can find. That is how upset I still am and I have been back home for two days!
