Thinking of going here? In a word "don't" the dirty welcome mat at the entrance just about said it all. Smelly damp apartment with a rust covered cooker and fridge,no bin or clothes airer but plenty of wasps and flies.
A very old site with very little maintenance. the swimming pool was dirty and many of the arcade machines did not work.
As a Family of four on a tight budget we expected basic but not dirty.
Had we not have been there for the surfing at polzeath we would of left before we had unpacked! in fact i lived out of my bag to stop my clothes getting damp.
All in all a very disappointing experience.

The people that have given this place a good rating obviously stayed in very different accomodation to what we stayed in!. If u enjoyed the nostalgia brought to you by Life On Mars then you will love it there!. The Apartment smelt damp and fusty. There was no hoover to do a quick tidy up with and nobody came round to clean up, by the end of the week it was a tip and there were dead flies gathering on the windowsill. The crockery was outdated and limited, and the television set was a relic from 1970 that buzzed all the time it was on. The sheets that were handed to us on our arrival absolutely reeked and I considered the place to be a health hazard for us and our 19 month old son.
There is an overpriced shop and a laundry room that houses 2 washing machines, so it took one morning to do a load of washing, the tumble dryer left our clothes damp so we had to keep swapping our stuff around on the bolier in our apartment. The shelf u usually find in the fridge door was non-existent and one of the beds in my sons bedroom was broken. The electric meter was extortionate.
We made it a good holiday by only using the place to have dinner and Sleep, we had a brilliant time, but will never ever consider going back there! It quotes good value accomodation at family prices, the money we paid to stay there would have gotten us somewhere much nicer if only we had known.
DONT GO THERE!

DO NOT GO HERE!
The accomodation is advertised as stone built bungalows- they were 1960's style terraced timber clad chalets. Condensation runs all day long down the windows. Even the doors all had damp stains on them. There were bare cables not chased into walls, the smoke alarm went off if you so much as boiled an egg in the minute kitchen. The pillows smelled so bad we had to spray them with deodorant before we could bear to go near them.
The staff couldn't manage to even find us a cheese grater- or return an urgent item of post sent to us.
The entertainment is on far too late for most children to watch, and the kids club is on too little and at the wrong times.
The pool is fine, but the only changing room is accessed outside, over a large gravelled area, and there is no lock on the door.
I could go on, but it'll only depress me more....
A complete and utter waste of money- don't go!!!

Lovley old manor house and apartments. accomadation was good and clean but basic in one of the apartments that has yet to be refurbished. The refurbished units are very nice. I would be happy to book again at this resort. The pool was very good and was open until 9pm (other resorts please note) which ment we could go to see some of the many attractions and still have an hour in the pool. The site was clean and quiet.

As we drove into St Michaelstow the grounds looked quite nice. When we arrived at the reception you don’t get the warm welcome they say you get. The receptionist was rude and not helpful that we could deal with.
We collected our key and went to our accommodation. As soon as we opened the door to the chalet the smell of old damp buildings came wafting out, much the same as the reception area.
We were put off by this immediately, we nearly left there and then.
The bar does not open until seven at night every day, there is only a park area for the children, the games room for the children needs a good clean, I would not let my children play in this area and if your unlucky enough to go there your see why.
There’s no pool table there like they said there was, there is absolutely nothing for the children to do there and anywhere you go you will need to drive at least 20 miles to get anywhere good.
There’s no local shops or places to eat or drink, the entertainment was on for children for approx and hour then there was bingo and then nothing.
We went on the Friday and was meant to be there until Monday but ending our holiday early Sunday morning as we could not take another day of the site.
