On our arrival through the gate area, i said this looks posh. Went to the Reception area, which smelt awful. The original bell was broke. Nobody there to greet me apart from 3 cats. As i got the key, another lady came in to say that number 94 smelt absolutely disgusting.... more

Booked through The Sun so initial cost was £38. Paid a further £80 to extend to a full week. Total cost £118 which is an absolute bargain. Accomodation is basic but clean, with everything you need (bed, bath/shower, cooking facilities, etc). Only concern is that the... more

Well, I can't actuatly believe all these bad reviews... To be fair we had good weather so I'm not sure about all the 'damp' complaints ALTHOUGH SAYING THAT.... We arrived after 'upgrading' and paying an extra 60 quid for a shower... So naturally we expected a little more... more

I checked in on Monday, 4 July. Having driven all the way from Essex to arrive at 5.00 p.m. and spending a small fortune on petrol. I have never experienced such filthy and appalling accommodation. There was a large hole in the side of the building, which would probably... more

Apartment was clean and everything you needed was there. Swimming pool was great for children as there was a sectioned off pool just for them. The prices in the restaurant were reasonable and the food was excellent. Great place to stay for exploring the rest of Cornwall.... more

Thinking of going here? In a word "don't" the dirty welcome mat at the entrance just about said it all. Smelly damp apartment with a rust covered cooker and fridge,no bin or clothes airer but plenty of wasps and flies. A very old site with very little maintenance. the... more

The people that have given this place a good rating obviously stayed in very different accomodation to what we stayed in!. If u enjoyed the nostalgia brought to you by Life On Mars then you will love it there!. The Apartment smelt damp and fusty. There was no hoover to do a... more

DO NOT GO HERE! The accomodation is advertised as stone built bungalows- they were 1960's style terraced timber clad chalets. Condensation runs all day long down the windows. Even the doors all had damp stains on them. There were bare cables not chased into walls, the smoke... more

Good Family break
Having stayed at Michaelstow last year we decided to return for a second visit just prior to Easter. As last time, the chalet was basic (as reflected in the price) but very clean. We have stayed at some of the larger more well known holiday parks and I found the accommodation here much cleaner and more presentable. The chalets are old but the owners seemed to have made the best of what is already there; the walls are stone, so you cannot hear your neighbour through them. The grounds are beautiful and tranquil (certainly at this time of... more
excellent park, great for kids
We have stayed at Michaelstow for the past 2 years. The park is located in the countryside and it is easy to go to the beach and see all of Cornwall. Our children love Michaelstow, the entertainment is fantastic. Our children feel safe and the playground is not far from the accommodation. The first year we stayed in a basic Liam chalet, it was not luxury however it was clean and had everything you need. Last year we stayed in a Rosewood apartment, these are very nice and have new kitchens and bathrooms. Overall we have always enjoyed... more
What a mistake!!!
Our holiday was three years ago but it seems from other reviews that nothing's changed!! We booked a week in Michaelstowe after checking out their rather flashy looking website - what a mistake. We arrived early and decided to have a look around before we checked in. The drive up to the main house seemed promising but glimpses of the chalets between the trees filled us with dread. We drove to Padstow, rang them and asked if it was possible to upgrade to an apartment in the main house - they said it shouldn't be a problem. We arrived and... more
A step back in time.
Well where do i start..... the website described it as one of Cornwall's best kept secrets for family holidays, i think it should be kept a secret!! "From the time you arrive a warm and friendly welcome awaits you, Michaelstow is the ideal base to stay and explore beautiful cornwall" well i was certainly fooled by that one, friendly, i don't think so, the woman i saw when checking in had about as much personality as my goldfish, there was no 'warm welcome' and i was frowned upon when i had to return to collect more linen. Entering my... more
Michaelstow Manor - Great Location - but a bit TOO Basic
We arrived at Michael Stow Manor Holiday Park on the 22.07 - from London this only took 4.5 hours. Access from the A39 is via small country lanes through the village of Michael Stow. As you approach the gates to the Holiday Park, you can't stop thinking about a large Cremation site, as this is the feeling you get as you drive down the winding lane to the Main House and to reception, something seems a little amiss - maybe its the wreaths?. On getting the keys and also the bed linen for our Chalet which we hired for £319.00 for the week... more
