Stayed here in June, returned in July, were not disappointed.

A well managed hotel, with polite friendly staff. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Excellent breakfast. Drinks and food in hotel are a little pricey. However, many places to eat nearby. Hotel is well positioned for strolling along river free of traffic.(We are a couple mid 50's).

My husband and I found this hotel on...
9 / 10
Feb 2008, Mrs T Brown

My husband and I found this hotel on lastminute.com and it was listed as the mystery hotel! We were a bit nervous about where we would end up but this was a really lovely hotel with very helpful staff. It also appeared to be brand new. We were enjoying a night away from the 2 year old and were off to a nearby medieval banquet. The hotel was a short walk away from the venue and a short walk away from a recommended car park (which was reasonable and secure!)
The welcome we had from the receptionist was good and she was keen to help with all our enquiries. The room itself was a delight with soft fluffy towels, designer bath taps, a deep bath with lovely freebies and power shower. There was a very comfy bed and cool TV. I was also able to make myself a nice cup of coffee with my free biscuit!! The room had a minibar if you so cared. Weekend check out was late so those of you who enjoy a Sunday morning lie-in will be happy. Unfortunately our 2 year old awaited at home so off we went early feeling that we were well rested and a little bit pampered!
It is really near the Thames and public transport. Would love to go again .. if we can find a babysitter!

I've written a review on this hotel...
10 / 10
Oct 2007, JaneS1969

I've written a review on this hotel after my last visit to it back in April but thought I'd post again.
I still give this hotel 10/10.
The hotel's in a great location with lots to do close by Tower Bridge, Tower of London, Southwark Cathedral, the fantastic Borough Market, London Dungeons, Butlers Wharf, St Katherine's Docks, HMS Belfast, Hays Galleria, and the Tate Modern.
I'd previously stayed in the executive rooms (on the top three floors) but this time stayed in one of the standard rooms. My room was on the eighth floor with a partial view of Tower Bridge one way and the trains coming into London Bridge on the other. The rooms on the other side of the hotel overlook part of More London Place, Tooley Street, towards the river, and also across to London Bridge station.
My room was very clean, comfortable, and a good size, with complimentary bottled water every day. Yummy La Source toiletries from Crabtree and Evelyn are provided in the bathroom.
I didn't book bed and breakfast this time as I decided to get something in one of the nearby cafés. Breakfast costs between £15 and £20 dependent on whether you go for continental or full so would recommend checking out the room prices that include breakfast, as this is often cheaper than paying for it as an extra.
I had room service one evening - a chilli, a side salad, and a drink - which was very nice. This cost about £25. The room service menu had some good choices but could've been expanded more - for example, there were no pasta dishes.
The room has a fully stocked minibar but prices are very expensive - though I've yet to stay in a hotel where this wasn't the case!
There's a good selection of restaurants and cafés nearby.
The staff are very pleasant and helpful.
In the past, the public areas of this hotel (including the corridors and lifts) were very warm and felt far too overheated. This wasn't the case on this visit - these areas felt a pleasant temperature. (The weather was a bright sunny cool autumn weekend.)
I would continue to recommend this hotel very much.

I've stayed here several times now and would highly recommend staying here. Despite it being a huge hotel, I've always found the staff very helpful and my room clean.
This hotel is brand new, only opening in late 2006, and is in a new development at More London Place, just off Tooley Street, between London and Tower Bridges. Consequently it feels very new and shiny - hope they can maintain that feel!
The bathroom was lovely with a separate shower unit. The bed was heavenly - I slept like a log! And I could see City Hall and part of Tower Bridge from my room window. It was also very quiet - and didn't even notice doors closing in nearby rooms.
The staff were very pleasant and incredibly helpful without being over the top.
I had room service one night and found the food very good - very tasty and plenty of it.
It's in a great location for sightseeing: Tower Bridge, Tower of London, Southwark Cathedral, Borough Market, Hays Galleria, St Katherine's Docks, Butlers' Wharf, and much more is very close by - and the Tate Modern is just a pleasant walk along the river too.
Only complaint is a niggly one - the corridors and lifts were far too warm and overheated! Thank goodness for the air conditioning in my room!
