the only good thing aout this hotel is the location.Needs up dating I booked a standard four poster bed and all i got was the four poster no fills to make it look romantic as the picture of bedroom shows The bathrom looked awful tiles on the floor were cracked The bedroom above was awful we could hear them walking around at 6 inthe morning floorboards terrible Iwould no advice any one to visit this hotel Also we waited for or breakfast staff forgot us and serving others that came in later than us.All in all not worth £145 a night

The location of the hotel is fantastic, about a 2 minute walk to the minster and shops.

The hotel staff were all extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. A big thank you to Jordan and Paul for making our weekend very special.

The food in the hotel restaurant was very good, the rooms were clean as I understand it the rooms are all going to be refurbished in the near future.

We will go back o the 'Minster' without hesitation and will recommend it to friends and family.

This hotel is situated 2 minutes from the york minster and the main shopping and bar areas, which is ideal. However that is about as good as it gets, the room we were given was definately not worth £99 a night, The room itself was extremely basic and to put it mildly very dated, the t.v. did not work, We did ask reception but all we got in response was "theres a problem with all of the t.v's at the moment"...very helpful.

Ok you dont go away to watch t.v but its handy to have whilst you chill in your room after hours of travelling.

The bed itself was so uncomfortable, it was like sleeping on the floor, which kept us awake all night.

Also the breakfast is only continental and not full english, which was available at an extra £7!! All we got for our money was 1 cup of tea or coffee, 1 round of toast and a bowl of cereal.

Overall the hotel suited our needs for somewhere to sleep which was close to town, but was definately not worth £99, in future we will be booking well in advance and getting a travel lodge, at least you know what your getting for your money.

I accept York is an excellent city but nor this York Minster Hotel is.



Although it is located very near to the city centre and the famous York Minster, its service and staff impressed me deeply by delay, ignorance, and being untrained.



When I checked in, I found the room was full of paper fragments, with ugly black spots on the carpet, and equipped with the so called "broadband" which was actually less than 256 Kbps.



After I asked for cleaning service 5 times, some students from York University finally came into my room to take their part time unprofessional job. The hot water in its bathroom cannot be guaranteed for 24 hours.



And the whole disgusting stay in this hotel cost me 78 pounds per night!



This is really a terrible memory and I am sure I will never return this hotel.
