Just got back from a week at the Hotel Jagerwirt. This is a superb hotel with great staff and Alex and Bridget, the owners are most ameniable hosts. The standard of the accomodation was excellent throughout our whole party of 7 rooms and the staff are all truly amazing.... more

A truly wonderful hotel. Food plentiful and high standards throughout. Watch out for one of the waitresses, Ines, who is an absolute star and is happy to banter with the guests. She`s also great with small kids. Gustav on the piano was very good entertainment and there`s a... more

We first visited this hotel for a week’s skiing in 2005. We loved the hotel so much that we re-booked for 2006 before leaving. We did the same in 2006 and 2007 and will be in the hotel next week. We are greeted with happy smiles and given our same room each visit. The... more

Excellent cosy family run hotel approx 10 to15 min walk to centre of Saalbacch. Nearest ski bus stop is about 3min walk. Rooms are basic but comfy, cleaned daily. Hotel owners are very friendly and can sort out lift passes for you. Food is excellent, plenty of choice for... more

I stayed at the Jagerwirt and can highly recommend it. Sepp and his staff will cheerily serve you amazing and (almost too) plentiful food, Bridget will shake you a great cocktail and Gustav will play some great tunes in the piano bar. The leisure facilities are also a god... more

A fabulous hotel with wonderful staff. Especially Raff and Jodie working in Sigis Bar. We were very well looked after by Alex who owns the hotel. And as for the entertainment - great fun and only to be found in Kitsbuhel! The hotel is a must for anyone looking for a... more

We stayed at the Jagerwirt for our honeymoon and were treated extremely well. The hotel is family run, I believe, and it really is like being a guest in someone’s home. The food was excellent and well needed after all that skiing. My only complaint was that our room... more

Fantastic
Have just returned from a week at the Jagerwirt and had an extremely enjoyable stay. The location was good (only 5- 10 minutes walk from the gondala), the staff exceptionally friendly, but the highlight had to be the food. 5 high quality courses each night, with alternative options if you find something you don't like. We had a triple room and two singles. Some may find the decor and bathroom dated, but we felt it was inkeeping with the Austrian style of the hotel.
Jagerwirt hotel very good
We had a lovely ski-ing holiday at Kitzbuhel and the Jagerwirt Hotel provided good comfortable clean rooms and an excellent menu. We would go back there and may like to see Austria in the summer. The winter was great and the ski-ing challenging
Fantastic!!!
We have visited this hotel seven times since 1999, and have already booked for the winter 2005 and summer 2005. Everything is wonderful - the food, the service, the staff, hotel location. In fact we have no faults whatsoever to report. We have made lots of friends over the years who, like us keep returning to this hotel in the great resort of Kitzbuhel. I cannot understand one review where the food was complained about. I have never had a bad meal, in fact, the food is absolutely fantastic. Also the review on rooms 103, I just cannot believe. I have stayed in that room and others on the floor and I have never experienced this or heard any others over the years. Readers, dont let that particular review put you off. The hotel is the best in Kitzbuhel and the resort is wonderful. Go there soon.!!!
Nice hotel, shame about the food.
There are lots of nice hotels in upmarket Kitzbuhel but the reviews of the tripadvisor community directed me to pick the Jagerwirt. Bedroom - simple and reasonably comfortable. Pool etc - new and excellent. Garden area - nice. Staff - exceptional. Bar - good fun. Food - suitable for the boys school dorm. One night we were served what appeared to be oven ready chips, frozen veg. and 2 overdone pork chops. We ate out most nights and had wonderful dinners (but limited selection of restaurants). Breakfast was also poor but better that the dinners. I asked residents of two other hotels - Tiefenbrunner & Schwarzer - Adler about their food and they were very pleased. Sorry Jagerwirt but you were not up to scratch on this occassion.
Full marks
I have been fortunate to have 20 foreign holidays over the last 5 years and have the fondest memories of Jagerwirt. Lovely hotel, very friendly staff and superb food. A truly wonderful holiday.
Refuse to stay in room 102/103
Not impressed, we stayed there for 7 nights during the ski season. We were given room 102, this room is opposite the main stairs so not only could we share the sad music from the attempted disco until 0130 in the morning, but we also had the privilege of meeting the drunks either trying to go up the stairs, or in some cases even those falling down the stairs. The majority of the drunks realised that they could not make it to their rooms in one hit, so they would stop for a rest in the snooker room, this is conveniently situated opposite room 103. We did complain and ask for a room change but nothing was done. I would rate this hotel as a 2 star B&B.
Wonderful
My husband, daughter (age 13) and I stayed here for a week over Christmas 2003 and had the best week ever! The location of the hotel is brilliant being so near the town and slopes. Our room on the top floor was very quiet and clean overlooking the river, mountains and the roofs of Kitzbuhel. What a magnificant view we had of the Hahnenkamm ski run. The hotel is perfect - very Austrian in decor. Nearly every night there was a musical evening. The staff are fantastic, so friendly and kind and the food was unbelievable. They made Christmas so special for us. We definitely want to go again this year!!!
Fabulous!
Overall an excellent hotel to stay whilst spending a week skiing. The daily breakfast and evening meals were superb with the vegetarian menu receiving as much attention as the daily menu. I would highly recommend the Hotel Jagerwirt on its cuisine alone (An important factor after a day on the slopes!!) Maybe not the preferred choice for families with young school age children (although they are more than welcomed by the staff) and party animals due to the sedate ambiance of the place. The location is perfect...just out of the town centre yet within walking distance to all of Kitzbuhels wonderful restaurants, shops and the Hahnekamm gondola. Unable to fault- so much so we have booked again for next year! Reviewed by a couple aged 34 and 44yrs with two children aged 7 & 8 (who remained at home with Grandma!!)
Pure Bliss!!
We Stayed in the Hotel for 11 days and it was totaly wonderful, you couldn't ask for a better Hotel in anyway shape or form. We Drove over there from Bristol by car and they supplyed us with a safe place to park the car within the Hotel grounds. The Food was second to none and my 2 young Daughters were very happy with all the meals and lats saying a lot because they are very fussy. We will go there again in the future and would recomend it to anyone. Its just superb in every way. the Room, the Staff, the Food, Everything just Excellent.
Perfect Heavan
We have stayed in the Jagerwirt 10 times in the past 12 years. A family run Hotel, spotless in every way. Wonderful choice of food with a lovely Farmers Bufet every week, Italian Evenings and a Gala Buffet every week. Lovely friendly staff, who all speak perfect English, beautiful decor and bedrooms typically Austrian. Lovely views over the Mountains. 10 minutes stroll to Town Centre. Entertainment most evenings. Very central for trips to Saltzburg, Insbruck, Grossgrotner etc and the most wonderful walks either following the River or up to the Mountains. Two Cable Cars to take you to the top or you can walk up! Everything about Kitzbuhel is "Magical" and the Jagerwirt is the best Hotel we have stayed in.
