Hotel Description:
Creta Suites Resort is set. Set on a verdurous mountainside, the resort offers a panoramic view of the village and the sea, which washes on one of the longest and most beautiful beach of the area. There are 33 fully equipped suites onsite, with big verandas and comfortable rooms. loading...

The suites own website describes them as being in a beach location - not strictly true as the beach is about a 5 minute drive down quite a steep hill but the view makes it worthwhile.
Having never been on a self catering holiday I was a bit dubious of what to expect but the suites were superbly appointed. Microwave, toastie maker, fridge, & large freezer. TV in lounge & bedroom and DVD player in lounge.
Everything was clean and modern. Our suite was cleaned every other day and the bedding changed.
The hotel was very quiet so probably not best suited to those who want to stay "in resort" and not a lot goes on during the day or at night. Nightlife however can be found for around 15 euro in a taxi in town. The taverna at the end of the road is also highly recommended and very very cheap.
There's a handy supermarket at the bottom of the hill on the right for anything you may need to stock up on. The staff were friendly and helpful even with their very broken English - but to be honest we only ever saw the receptionist who was also the barmaid (again probably due to how quiet the suites were).
The pool that is advertised isn't yet complete but looks like it'll be beautiful when it is - very secluded. The only other tiny niggle was the gym was "having a problem" and unavailable during our stay.
The perfect place to stay if you want to see the real Crete - the shopping (clothes & home wear) were also fantastic in Ierapetra, about fifteen mins drive away. We'd recommend hiring a car and really enjoying the local hospitality!
