In a ok location near to shops and a lot of restaurants. The hotel was clean and the rooms were cleaned everyday with clean bedding. They have 2 outside pools with good kids area and lots of sunbeds al areas of the pool were always very clean.
There was a rep available everyday if any probs. No probs getting drinks etc the food wasn’t up to much and the snacks were what was left from tea so don’t get to excited.
The evening entertainment was poor and the kids club staff didn’t speak much English so I wouldn’t advise leaving your kids there it is next to the indoor pool which smells to the high heavens so I wouldn’t go near that either.
An overall for the holiday was good my daughter enjoyed it and it was value for money and it was worth it for drink on its own. It has a smoking bar which is good for the smokers as all other bars are smoke free.

After reading some very average reviews i was a little anxious before travelling, especially as we were taking our 2 year old daughter abroad for the first time. However, we had a decent time and no real complaints with the Hotel.
The food was a little routine, but essentially it is a cheap all inclusive holiday that you are paying for. I would suggest having a meal or two out during the week to break up the feeling of staring at the same 4 walls in the Dining room.
Staff are friendly, other than one or two Bar Staff, and the Room Cleaning service was top drawer.
We were on Floor One and the noise from the 'Evening Entertainment' was a problem. As for the Entertainment, think Phoenix Nights, so bad it was good ;)
Also the Pool was pretty small for the size of Hotel, but this would only be a problem in high season.
Overall, if you can get a cheap deal and you have not got diva style demands this Hotel will serve the purpose.

Oh dear, oh dear, what a poor excuse for an all-inclusive four-star hotel, when will tour operators be made to tell the truth, and give customers an informed choice?
We booked a short break to this hotel to get some rest and relaxation what a joke! You would get more sleep in a shop doorway, something all reviews fail to mention is that the hotel switches the air con off from 2.00am till midday every day, the temperature outside at night was 22 degrees in the room it was more like 30, we used to wake at 3am in the morning boiling hot and really stuffy in these small but clean rooms.
I admit the cost is good but price is not everything, we ate only once in the Hotel as the food is at best awful, however the restaurants we did find were fantastic. The staff are rude and ignorant and would be better suited to working on a fairground.
I was however quite impressed with the area in general Tossa de Mar is well worth a visit, the beaches are good. We found the people outside to be very pleasant which is surprising when they have to endure drunken foul-mouthed British yobs, so all in all the moral of the story is don’t even go for free!!

We have just returned from Lloret de Mar yesterday, and we had a much deserved break for 3 nights away from kids/work and everything.
We booked all inc as it was such a cheap option. On arrival we were impressed at the hotel entrance, friendly staff, and very clean place, looked at the pools which were an ok size.
The indoor pool was on level -1 but we never went down there.
We arrived too late for Evening dinner, so we went to the rooms and then walked to a really nice steak restaurant called el rancho, The owner is called Juan, and he was really nice. And the meal was excellent.
We figured that the hotel was so cheap, it wouldn’t hurt to eat out sometimes with the money we saved. The next day we had breakfast at the hotel, and it was ok. nothing special, but edible!
We decided to set off towards the beach which was about a 10-15 min stroll. If you'd prefer to be by the beach I'd recommend staying at the Royal Beach hotel. As that is basically 2 mins walk! Back at the hotel we missed lunch so we headed towards the snack room.
The same snacks each day consisting of chips, burgers, sausages, salad, bread, spicy chicken (I loved that). We filled up on that and headed to the bar on level E.
We had a lager each but that was horrible so we had sangria (not as nice as in the el rancho bar) but we drank it. I’d suggest the red wine as my favourite drink I tasted there.
The entertainment that night was brazil, which was 2 men and 2 women dancing, we were sat with 3 other couples and we all had loads to drink so the atmosphere was great. That night my husband slept sound (too much drink) but I tossed all night, you could hear everything, every loo flush, kids screaming and shouting, furniture moving, ignorant maids in the early hours!
Next day was spent pretty much the same. We decided to try the evening meal but it was pretty much the same options as the snacks!! a few more dishes were available but were Spanish stuff!!
They had three choices of afters but none looked too appetizing!! My husband had a steak and plopped onto his plate what he thought were boiled pots but they were actually pears!! The only option they had was yep you guessed it "CHIPS!!" I enjoyed mine I had spicy chicken/chips/salad.
I slept really good that night, I didn’t hear anything.
Overall it was a friendly hotel and remember you get what you pay for!!
The food is not brilliant but to be honest you probably would have to pay a lot more for a self catering hotel we are going to go back to Lloret de Mar, but we will go to the Royal Beach, as we spent most of the time on the beach.

We stayed in The Royal Star in June 07. On The whole we found it very good value for money as we only paid £150 each.
The hotel was very clean, rooms cleaned every day and beds changed every day.
The Food was a bit samey but edible, didn't have to resort to the hungry horse! The Staff were always polite and friendly, I think you get treated how you treat people.
The entertainment was not all that but ok for young kids to run around all night or the oldies to have a dance!
There was quite a lot of older people and people with young children, I wouldn't recommend this hotel for teenagers as there is nothing for them to do, but it is very close to Lloret town which has a few clubs and bars and loads of shops.
A pleasant little place to go for a cheap short break.

For what you pay for, it is a nice little break, not amazing so don’t pay to much to come here.
My boyfriend and I went last minute for a break in February and there where a few young couples that had also.
Lots of older people at the discos at night, was funny to watch them have a boogie. But sometimes a bit boring.
Hotel was nice and clean but do agree it is dated. Hard to find your way around to the main town, not good for people with walking problems as its steep hills into town.
We got pestered by the men on the market stalls in February, so I don’t want to know what it will be like in peak season. Not really allot to do, some clubs but not very exciting really.
Food not very nice, weird stew and fish soup and horrible jelly squares as puddings, reuse the food if it chicken one day, then the next chicken pie then maybe chicken salad the next.
Snack bar is boring. Best thing about it though is the drink bar staff give you loads sometimes can be a bit moody but overall ok.
Indoor swimming pool is ok but dated and not very deep, cant get near the Jacuzzi as people stay in there for hours not giving other people a turn,
I found allot of Spanish people were doing this.

Our party consisted of 2 adults 1 teenage son. We had read up the reviews on this hotel but assumed that for what we paid then we surely can't complain.
However, first impressions as we walked in were, very nice open clean reception area, reception staff were friendly enough.
Our son had the room next door to us which we were pleased about as this wasn't guaranteed. Rooms again were nice and clean.
We were at the front and it was very noisy in the mornings with the streams of traffic from the main road, also roadwork’s were going on - I’m sure they started especially to annoy us.
The first few meals we had were alright, but chips chips and more chips a billion times a day can get pretty boring after a while. Very very repetitive, snack bar was worse, same burgers, chips, and everyday, although on our last day they had hot dogs which we were extremely excited about so we had 2 rounds each!
You are not allowed to take the snacks by the pool side. No proper entertainment during the day, they should have music playing outside to create more atmospheres instead of everyone falling asleep in the sun. Evening entertainment wasn't too bad.
The maids cleaned the room’s everyday - even if you didn’t want them too. We had the do not disturb sign on but they still insisted on barging in on us whenever it suited them! Could have been very embarrassing.
Beach was nice. We ate at the Hungry Horse once, that was nice, staff very friendly and looked after us.
We found the bar staff at the Royal Star pretty ignorant, as in there would be 3 staff, 1 serving, the other 2 standing around talking when they could see you standing there waiting for a drink!!
Overall I wouldn't say it was a bad experience, me, my partner and son had a good time, it’s who you're with, not where you go - I couldn't help myself, I had to write a review so others know what to expect!

This hotel cannot be a 4 star, having been to the Melia in Benidorm in February they are not in the same league.
Rabbit and pink hamburgers for Sunday night dinner are simply not 4 star foods.
Ants in the room 4 floors up is not acceptable for a 4 star.
Walking into the foyer to be greeted by smoke from a smoking bar, and torn leather suites, are not expected in 4 stars.
The H TOP Hotels in this area are a very poor standard, having visited a few using my all inclusive option on my card.
Don’t waste your money!

It was great! I was certainly worried when we decided to go on a budget holiday for a few days and started to read the reviews but I would certainly recommend Royal Star. The whole place was clean, food was fine and the room nice.
The pool areas were nice although the gym and indoor swimming pool were ok but not great. I think for the money we paid the whole experience was great. We were in a good location for Town and beach. The only concern would be that in the Summer I imagine the whole place, including the hotel is a lot busier and somewhat chaotic. However, for a cheap low season break the resort and particularly the Royal Star all inclusive option is ideal.

Hi, we have stayed in this hotel many times, ok it’s not our 4 star but it’s kept very clean.
We always go all inclusive and maybe don’t use it as much as others but they are on holiday and there to enjoy it.
Bedrooms walls are paper thin and you can hear next door but if you ask to get moved rooms they will help.
I find if you are polite to people you will be treated the same way. i
I the food gets too much as I’m sure it will. Be like us eat out, try hungry horse good food and warm welcome, remember your in Spain and there food is maybe not what we would want.
This hotel is in a good location, though maybe not for disabled, as it’s a 10 min walk to centre of Lloret.

I have never commented on a hotel before but after 7 nights in this hotel, I feel I must otherwise the efforts of the staff will go unrewarded.
First the hotel: Four star. Yes. The walls are so thin you felt you should be able to see the stars and you might as well go and look at them as you will get very little sleep.
Food and service: A reasonable standard of canteen food is served in a canteen style restaurant. But this is good for the local economy and local restaurants, as full board guests seek eatable food.
One particular good one is the El Rancho across the road.
The management: I am unable to comment on this aspect as when you went to complain the manager vanishes and leaves the problem to some very rude reception staff.
Dress code: Do not worry Pyjamas are OK for breakfast and string vests and shorts are OK for the evening meal.
The rooms: They are cleaned every day and towels are changed. Bath mats you take your chance with.
All rooms have TV with English channels. BUT remember your neighbours. You might not be able to hear it over their noise.
The good point: I was only there for 7 nights, I could have booked 14.

The food is horrible. Go to the Hungry Horse. Other than that I liked it very much.
It is located very well, 1 km from town centre
where the night life is brilliant, I suggest the Robin Hood bar.
Rooms not bad, clean, poor views though.
Cleaning staff are really nice and some of the bar staff too. Its only the receptionist that seemed a bit off!
Pools are good - the indoor pool could be a bit deeper.
Child friendly with a play park on the roof as well as a paddling pool - which was really nice when its hot and you stick your feet in it.

My family, my husband, myself, two young children and mother and father in law went for a long weekend break here.
As we went out of season, I didn’t experience any of the noise problems mentioned by other reviewers. I found the staff to be polite and friendly, and the service good. I think it should to be taken into account that the people who work in these hotels get paid very little and work very long hours, so they may sometimes be tired, they are human after all.
I agree that the lobby decor was a little dated, but it was clean and fresh, so this is hardly worth mentioning.
We had a large room on the first floor, and it was clean and spacious. Towels fresh everyday, and the maids did an excellent job. You don't change your sheets everyday at home, so why people expect that in a hotel I don't know. I was satisfied with the service on these counts.
The only problem was the food. The snack bar was the same everyday, and I don't like my children eating chips everyday.
As a vegetarian, I found it very difficult to get a good meal here, but I have this problem every time I go to Spain or Mallorca, so I wasn't surprised. Other family members were satisfied by the food, but my tip is to eat more at lunch, the selection is better then. The desserts were disappointing, it was the usual Spanish selection of sloppy custards in various flavours.
It is a mixed hotel, meaning you do get other nationalities staying here. I'm confused why this is a problem to other reviewers, as I found the other guests very nice, especially the French.
The resort is nice. Beautiful beach, and lots of shops, and the old square with its mosaic church is a delight. Plenty of clubs and bars, if you like nightlife, and plenty of quiet cafes if you don't.
Barcelona is only a train ride away, but it takes two hours or more, so not suitable for young children really.
TIP: If you are taking the train from Blanes to Barcelona, get off at Playa de Catalunya, it puts you in the heart, and you can get everywhere from there. The Barri Gotic is highly recommended.
Overall, very good, and I would have like to have stayed longer.
PS: Don't miss the Market on Tuesdays. Its opposite the Caprabo in town , and you can get some good bargains, but beware, it does get crowded!

I really enjoyed this holiday only went for 3 days, hotel is lovely and big, great big bars to sit in, good cocktails, friendly waiters.
The food was what you would expect in Spain, not the best but was ok.
We didn’t realise that there was the main part of Lloret de Mar the other side of the hotel which looks like a motorway, we thought it was only a small place until we found out when we stayed in the royal casino 4 months later. Ha ha
Indoor pool was ok, smelt funny though so only stayed in there half an hour. Stings your eyes as well.
I would definitely go back to this hotel again for a short break.

Just arrived back from this hotel Last week.
Well what can I say, the hotel its self was ok, the majority of the staff were really ignorant. The pool that they have the kids games round was always to crowded, so you could never sit at this end of the hotel, or else you got up before the Germans. The other big pool was far too deep for young children, but there is a small pool attached.
Only managed to eat in the dinning room once in the 10 days I was there, I had two small children with me, what kind of child is going to eat rabbit and veal. The menu itself never really changed as all the food that was on the menu was always on the bone.
All the food which was served was always catered for foreigners and there was never anything there for the British except for chips (you got these for lunch and dinner everyday). On most occasions, I went across the road to the Hungry Horse to get a proper feed, what a good Scottish breakfast they do and the pizzas are great last thing at night after you have had a drink!!!
The Snack bar was always the same every day, Burgers, Chips, Hotdogs. My two kids did get the use out of this most days, but they did get sick of eating the same things every day.
The rooms were very small and poky, and you could hear everything through the paper thin walls. The maids were in everyday, towels were always changed, and I just took the sheets off every morning, so they had to give me clean ones, so a cant really comment on wither they changed them or not.
I only stayed in the hotel for one night to watch the entertainment, but it was that good I had to get up and leave half way through it.
This hotel has put me off going All Inclusive again
