These apartments were refurbished last year and are absolutely superb! Cleaned daily and sheets and towels changed twice weekly.
For those worried about earlier comments on hot water, this seems no longer to be a problem as there is constant hot water.
There didn’t seem to be any hidden extras either, there is a hairdryer in the room, and we got aircon when we asked for it. Really lovely apartments.
Molivos itself is about a 20 minute walk or you can catch the bus that stops at the apartment (see timetable at reception) or a taxi is 4 Euros. The town is built round the castle so quite hilly, cobbled streets so don’t bother with the high heels!
Really lovely little town, we never got a bad meal. No hassle to buy as we walked about.
The beach at Molivos is very stony so we caught the bus to Petra up the road which is lovely, then came back to the nicer town of Molivos in the evening, the most relaxing week we have had in years!

Have just returned following the best holiday ever.
Kostas and Eriphilly who run the apartments are wonderful, as is their son Chris who also helps out with the bar.
Nothing was too much trouble. We spent many a happy hour at the bar chatting with them and enjoying their hospitality. The rooms were exceptionally clean and towels and sheets were changed every two days. Hot water for shower is a bit hit and miss but after a day in the Greek sun who wants a hot shower?
The walk into Molivos takes about twenty minutes. If you don’t want to walk the local bus stops outside the apartments but last one left at about 8pm. ( in September ) Plenty of taxis available and Kostas will call one for you.
Molivos is beautiful. Lots of choices for dining out but I would recommend the harbour front restaurants for a really special experience. Fresh fish and wonderful views.
The local people are the most friendly and welcoming that I have met in any part of Greece.
I would recommend hiring a car or taking one of the many excursions available either by boat or coach, there is so much to see and do.
I will recommend this holiday to others who want a relaxing time on an unspoilt island, and I will most certainly be returning.

Just returned from a very relaxing holiday. The apartments are clean but quite basic. I learnt how to make a toaster out of a metal coat hanger by shaping it over one of the two cooker rings.
Mr Harris was right about the lack of hot water, it was pot luck whether you got any or not but you could always visit the hot springs if it bothers you too much. Liza the rep was very helpful and Costas and his wife were wonderful, nothing was too much trouble. The same could also be said for the locals.
The nearest shop (TK'S) is a good 10 mins walk up hill but they will deliver all your goods straight to your room and refused to take a tip on all four occasions we used them. There is also a very confused cockerel in the vicinity that will wake you anytime of day or night whether you want it to or not! There are sheep, chickens and a donkey or two in the grounds also so it’s great if you like animals. The views of the castle are beautiful. We had a very disappointing walk into Eftalou, there is not much there apart from the hot springs a couple of restaurants so stick to Molivos if you want a bit of an atmosphere.
I liked the fact that no one hassled you to come into their restaurants or shops, everyone was very laid back and friendly. Would I go back? Definitely.

Overall this was one of the most tranquil and unique holidays I have ever been on. I went with a friend with the intention to relax and there was no better place to do this than at the hotel Eriphilly. It is set away from the centre of town, and has amazing views of the castle. Costa’s, the owner and his wife, Eriphilly, made us more than welcome and I came home believing I had really sampled some authentic Greek culture.
The beach in Molyvos was very small but Eriphilly had a pool, which provided much needed relief from the heat. The town centre hosts some amazing tavernas, but you need to walk up hill to sample some of the best of them. Costas recommended many authentic places for us to eat and after eating there were many activities to keep us entertained, during the hottest months there is an open-air cinema. Molyvos has a real community feel and the locals were extremely friendly. As a young woman I felt totally safe and free to wander at pleasure.
I believe this would be the perfect beautiful setting for anybody who likes to chill by day and explore by night. I would definitely go back again.

The studio was clean with the usual 2 ring cooker but there was only one large pan, two odd knives forks and spoons as well as teaspoons. However there were no cooking utensils but one large pan and a small wok frying pan. There is a coffee machine on the wall. Never could fathom out when there would be any hot water, most times none at all. One evening at about six, we had two showers and I had a shave before any hot water arrived!
The Eriphilly has it’s own pool with bar/snack bar beside it and this cannot be faulted along with the very friendly helpful staff. You can hire fans but there is a limited supply at a charge of 2 euros a day.
From the studios it is a good 20-25 minute walk to the town and a good 30 -35 from the beach. I cannot say that the beaches on the island are very good and if you wish to try them out you will need a car due to the islands size ( Molyvos to Erissos = 55Km).
Molyvos itself is a very attractive resort but very hilly and the "climbing" streets are in fact cobble streets so quite hard on feet, grip and so not a place for those with walking difficulties. It has many fine tavernas some with very impressive views and you are spoilt for choice. The town is overlooked by a tremendous castle, which is lit at night to great effect.
Would I return to Lesvos? No, I was disappointed with the beaches and the water was extremely cold which I can only put down to the way the seabed drops away very quickly from the land meaning that the deep water is closer to the beaches.

We chose this accommodation simply because it worked out at a good price and it was one of the few one bedroomed apartments available on Lesvos with an English holiday company.
There are two buildings block booked by First Choice, containing studios and apartments, a little distance apart and a more modern hotel behind the swimming pool, which is let independantly. We were in the Eriphilly, the second building, where there were three apartments on both the first and second floor and on the ground floor, which was a little cellar-like, were studios. These had no windows and only an ordinary door with a tiny window in but they did have a nice patio area. Some people weren't too keen but others loved them.
We had two balconies, a very basic kitchen with a lack of utensils and crockery etc but we did have a kettle. In this area was a bed settee for Philip which was none too comfortable and the only window with fly screens on. The two french windows did not.
The bathroom had a narrow bath/shower with curtain and there was always hot water in both here and the kitchen.
The one strange thing we found was that the electricity only worked when your key fob was fitted into a slot, which meant you couldn't leave things charging while you were out. The fridge obviously worked on a seperate system.
There was air-con, at an additional cost, but we didn't need it in May.
In the wardrobe we found a fixed safe, which didn't work on the combination lock but the key for it was on the key ring for the room. A nice little extra (not that we ever worry over the safety of our money and passports.)
Lovely swimming pool area with childrens pool. Be aware the pool bottom is slippery so watch your step getting in. Plenty of sunbeds and a bar where food and drinks can be purchased. Excellent for teenagers as they can do their own thing, here.
Lovely castle views, if you're lucky and surrounded by pretty gardens. It was interesting to watch the different plants flower as the fortnight progressed.
Nick spent many an uncomfortable hour in a very rustic pergola in the garden so he could stay in the shade, as our balcony was very hot in the afternoons and early evening.
DAILY maid service, including clean linen and towels although only shower towels are provided. The whole place was spotlessly clean.
Some friendly cats about, one of which was clever enough to join us on our balcony by scaling the vine and leaping onto our balcony from it. She soon made herself at home!
