My daughter and I has stayed in these apartments before in 2000 where at that time we went with a tour operator (JMC).
This time we went completely independently and had a fabulous time again!
The apartments had changed and were no longer used by the tour company and were now residential used by the locals. However, the security was good, the apartment was clean and it was quiet as it was used by the locals, however when arriving we didn’t know that we had to pick up keys from the office two streets away which was quite disheartening.
The Titanic which was just round the corner from the apartments was an excellent place to eat; the entertainment was also brilliant and would highly recommend a visit to the place.
I should also mention 007 and the Robin Hood which have great meals and entertainment also. Salou also has a varied amount of restaurants/cafes to visit; we also visited the Brown Cow for our breakfast each morning, cheap and satisfying with great service from the girls who worked there.
Port Aventura is a great place to visit and we bought a 7 day pass for the price of 3 (which worked out at about £79 for the 2 of us for unlimited access) on the internet.
We would stay at the Royal Apartments again, would recommend them.

oh my god where do i start
when we got there, there was no-one there to get the key from just a pile of letters. so with 2 very young kids we went to the next hotal to see if they know where to get the key from. they didnt know so we went to the next hotal and they ring the number from us on the letter we had. after 30 mins of trying to get someone they told us where to get the key from and said if we was 15min later we would have been locked out. so with 2 kids and 3 suit cases we went and got the key only to be told it was £60 for the key. when we got to the room. there was no travel cot for my baby. the water was stone cold if showers.
the room was very nice. the wasnt any one to wash and change the sheets so we had to do it. no cleaner for the 7 days we was there. the pool was closed the hole time we was there.
please please dont book this hotel unless u want to spent the start of your holiday looking for keys.
salou is a very lovely place and i would go there again just not the the royal hotel
