me and 5 of my friends stayed at canadian studios and were dissapointed on arival, our rooms were discusting! cockroach in the fridge! we didnt cook any food in the room as we didnt want to use any of their equipment or cooker! even went and bought plastic cups to avoid... more

Worst and unhelpful staff ever. from xXkel-leighXx
We werent meant to be staying at the Canadian Aparthotel, but a week before we were due to arrive, my friend a travel agent, phoned up to confirm our booking, they then told us that we were not to be in the hotel as it was full but to be put up in a different part of the hotel down another road.. It was terrible.. The rooms were terrible we had ant infested kitchens, and we had 7 rooms, out of the 9 or 10 in the building.. We questined the staff to why they had not told us in advance.. and speaking to people on our return it is a very common problem.. For 2 nights we did not have water and the hotel didnt even let us use a room in the hotel to get washed.. The staff were really unhelpful and i do not recommend it to anyone.. The pool as well was dirty you couldnt see the floor.. But give it to them it was cleaned on arrival day.. Zante though on the other hand was absolutely brillaint.. Hire the speedboats.
Small but ideal! from angelbabe
The Canadian Apartments (or Hotel) is typical greek self catering studios. There is a main reception with pool table that you hire by the hour. Our apartment was on the top floor (there's only 2) and we were in the far corner. First impressions, very basic and small. The lock on the patio doors looked a bit dodgy too! The room was ideal for what we wanted, good location, cheap and somewhere to rest our heads! The swimming pool looked small but we didn't venture to it as it seemed all the people around the pool area were rather clicky and all knew eachother. Laganas beach is lovely so we spent out days there, turtle spotting - plenty came into shallow waters. We ate out every day, except the morning of our return where we had breakfast at the hotel. I wouldn't bother, it was cold, disgusting and we both felt ill on the flight home. If you leave the hotel, turn left, then right and the first restaurant on the left is lovely and very resonably priced. Also, the horse and carriage ride around Laganas was nice. Downsides Not many downsides to this holiday, but the restaurant we ate in on the first night was awful. I can't remember the name of it, but it's on the main road leading down to the bars, it got a blue roof and very pushy waiters outside. It might be called dionysoss or named after some greek god. Anyway, it always looked very busy but we went there and they covered our meals in cheese we didn't ask for, it was very strong and we couldn't actually taste our meals! I had kleftiko and my partner just had pizza. Also, my main downside to the resort is the amount of children selling glo-stick wristbands/necklaces. Do not be fooled by them. They are very pushy and try their hardest to get that wristband round your wrist while your walking away. Keep an eye on your money around them too! All in all a good holiday, you must do the turtle island boat trip. Book on the beach, it's about 10 euros each and we see plenty of turtles but then we went in may.
