We loved our holiday in Kitzbuhel. The resort is very pretty and the people incredibly friendly. But what really added to our holiday was the hotel, The Flairhotel. Although the spa and new bar were not complete our stay in the hotel was very enjoyable. The 6 course evening... more

We were expecting a poor standard at the hotel, how wrong we were. The rooms have been refurbished and are adequate for a skiing holiday. The ski bus stops outside the hotel every 15 mins. The reception staff are very helpful and the other staff are very jolly. We had one... more

Definitely not "4 star pending". Previously known as the Klausner Hotel, the Flair Hotel has undergone a partial refurbishment -our bathroom was new and excellent. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was a let down - same limited buffet breakfast... more

This hotel is in desperate need of a refurb. The building itself on the exterior is very run down and the room we were allocated was just a bad. The wood on the balcony was split and loose, the overhead light was hanging off the ceiling.....need I say anymore. We were on... more

Traditional Chalet Hotel
This is traditional Austrian hotel with a lovely old fashioned air. The food is good, the family who run it are welcoming and helpful. The furniture may be a bit old but it is refreshing to have functional old fashioned rooms rather than modern steriotypes with all rooms the same. It is in a great position for transport and walks. It has a very pleasant garden with sunbeds and chairs. Everything you want for combining a good walking holiday with a bit of relaxation.
Rude Receptionist!
We stayed at this hotel for a week and a week was more than enough. The staff in the restaurant were fun and friendly as was Michael the bar man which is more than can be said about one of the receptionists! Very rude and threatening. The food in the evening was adequate and we had some quite nice meals and there was certainly enough - but no choice of main course as listed in the brochure though apart from on our last night! They could have varied the breakfust selection each day - no variation at all but fine if you like plastic cheese and ham! Rooms were clean but in need of decoration and updating. The walk into town was not too bad but I would have got fed up with it if I had been staying another week. The train station was handy - ie next door! Had a very nice bar-be-que mid week but unfortunately the ambiance was ruined by the location - in the car park next to the railway station!
Location, location,location!
Klausner is located next to a train and bus station so quiet is non existent, especially when the austrian municipal workers start mowing the dandelions at 6am. Food and waiter service were excellent and you will not go hungry, although we referred to our tour operator that a choice of main meal would have been nice (as shown in the brochure!) The place must have been recently decorated as we found this to be OK and the hotel was immaculately clean as is all of Austria. The 8 minute stroll to the town center is going some, but not objectionable, since the really posh hotels are located right in the main drag of a major town and are probably even more noisy. The staff's English isn't brilliant but as with most places in Austria a little effort to speak German is very kindly reciprocated.
Poor Food in Shabby Surroundings
The bedrooms and public areas are in desperate need of refurbishment. Some staff, particularly the receptionist, were rude. A deposit of 24 Euros was requested for the T.V. remote control but at the end of our stay was perported to be a charge, not a deposit, and was not refunded. Services included an over amorous barman.
not a great location
my first impression was the hotel was ok and other reviews were wide of the mark. however, after a week of average food and having to get taxi's to the ski lifts and into town (you can get the bus if you can be bothered to wait) it started to wear a bit thin. The rooms were nice and clean though and big enough although the decor was a bit dodgy in places. the staff were ok and you could have a bit of fun with them but the service realy wasn't up to scratch. Watch out for your bar bill - £172 euro at the end of the week for a few drinks and mineral water with dinner! Great resort, skiing and ok value but if you spend another £200 you'll get a much higher standard of accom bang in town.
very disapointed
Just returned from skiing holiday and stayed in this hotel was very disapointed with the food and the staff it seemed that they were paying us for the service would not recomended this hotel the resort and the skiing were very good
XMAS NEW YEAR HOL
We booked xmas and new 2003, on going in with our bags we were shouted at by the recepionist for having our skis with us even though they were still in there bags. The food was ok most of the time, the xmas and new year atmosphere was none existant On the evening of the day before we were due to leave we were hounded all evening to pay our bill. The two barmen watched our every move they stood in door ways staring at us and even demanded payment as we were in the middle of our dinner even going as far as slamming the bill on the table. KITZ is a fanstic place and a joy to ski. I COULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE
Friendly, but scruffy rooms, limited food
The rooms here need a refurb - looks like they haven't been done out for 3 decades. I got bored with the food too, usually only one option each night - although this often seems to be the deal in Austria/Germany, with 4-stars only offering a limited number of choices too. That said, it was OK, and the staff were friendly and helpful and spoke english. So I wouldn't choose it, but don't panic if you booked there already.
Functional. Handy for Train and Bus services
This has fallen victim to the great British Package Companies. I.E. Offer free wine with the evening meal and lower your prices to guarentee block bookings. I first visited this hotel fifteen years ago. It was family run with friendly staff who had the time to give good cheerful service. My last visit, three years ago saw a noticeable drop in the number of staff which lead to a deterioration in service and attitude. The food is good, when the staff remember to serve the dessert and the location very useful if you plan to use buses and trains
